Welcome hayporter! There's a few mums on here expecting twins, so you've got company here! There's also a section for those who have had or are having twins here

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/multiple_births

Mssleepy - really really best of luck! Hope to come back later to good news.

Feels odd that some are approaching 12 weeks and I'm nearly 16!! Ordered some maternity occasion dresses for my nephews wedding - can't wait to wear it! They make my boobs and bump look amazing. Will need carefully selected underwear though!!

Hope everyone else has a good weekend!

2beornot · 08/02/2014 10:41

Lucy - the dull aches (kind of like that post birth feeling?) and back pain are totally normal. Mine have stepped up a gear now but that's what I had a few weeks ago. Sorry you've got a stupid midwife who has scared you. Remember the EPU will always look at you, even if you think your being silly, they won't. X

ClarissaG · 08/02/2014 10:56

I love a list, so here we go: (copy and add your own answers)

Missing most - Brie
Best side effect - Boobs
Struggled most with - sickness
Best / strangest reaction to announcement to news - Good friend 'I KNEW you were pregnant that weekend!!' - when I was 4 weeks and had just done test. How did she know, weird???!!!
Most looking forward to - DH being a Dad, he is so happy
Most worried about (aside from medical worries) - juggling work and baby
Tummy status - 1 - proper little bump, 2 - no bump, 3 - fat and bloated pretend bump - 3
Most tears over - Adoption programme on Channel 4, I would never have cried about that before
Shopaholic status - nothing bought yet for baby, I didn't even let myself take the labels off the bigger bras I bought until after the 12week scan

CountdownBegins · 08/02/2014 11:31

Hi Hayporter and congratulations on your twin pregnancy!

Good luck today mssleepy- hope all is ok.

Lucy I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and had the period type pains around 12 weeks and realised the baby was oractiakly doubling in size that week and it was near to my usual period dates so guessed it was due to that! So try not go worry and it should calm down.

How is everyone else? I've been really struggling with lower back (almost in my bum) pains- have been doing some aligning and strengthening exercises but its really getting me down- do you think I could be referred to physio?

CountdownBegins · 08/02/2014 11:33

oractiakly??? I meant practically...

PinaColadas · 08/02/2014 12:00

Been thinking about you all morning Misssleepyhead. Keep your head high, I'm sure all will be perfect xxx

I've had downs screening letter this morning finally, 1 in 38000 which I'm assuming is pretty low and they've said they don't need to do anything else.

Ooooooh a list!

I love a list, so here we go: (copy and add your own answers)

Missing most - Disaronno and coke
Best side effect - Bump and not having to hold my stomach in anymore after years
Struggled most with - Feeling shattered/getting up for work first thing
Best / strangest reaction to announcement to news - a very manly colleague welling up! Another manly colleague practically snogging me and throwing his arms round me saying 'CONGRATULATIONS' sounds strange but it was so sincere and sweet
Most looking forward to - seeing DH holding baby for the first time
Most worried about (aside from medical worries) - how we will cope with sleep depravation
Tummy status - 1 - proper little bump, 2 - no bump, 3 - fat and bloated pretend bump - 1, was at a party last night and people were rubbing it and all sorts! Lots assumed I was further on than I am cringe. Fatty.
Most tears over - Fear of losing the baby after my MC. Irrationally also every time I heard "all I want for christmas" on the radio
Shopaholic status - Pretty bad, got pram, cot, mattress, 3 outfits, and some art for the wall, also sewing lots and knitting!

lucyfluff · 08/02/2014 12:31

Thanks 2b and countdown Smile

I should know my body by now after three pgs but Im such a worrier. Maybe its stretching and my tilted uterus making it all uncomfortable. Scan is Wednesday so hopefully all will be ok then. We are telling inlaws today eeekkkk!!!!

I love a list will copy and paste later as on phone app!

Hope everyone has a fab wkend (except this bad weather!) Smile

lucyfluff · 08/02/2014 12:32

Good news on the results pina Smile

Finnable · 08/02/2014 12:57

Good luck MissSleepy. Thinking about you!

Abimci · 08/02/2014 14:22

2beornor where did you get your dress? I need one for a holy communion when I'll be 6 months (hopefully!) and one for a wedding when I'll be 7 months.

Anyone else know where to get good occasion maternity dresses?

HungryHorace · 08/02/2014 14:27

I hope everything is OK, mssleepyhead.

Hello to Hayporter. :-) We've 3 sets of August twins, I think. Or is it 4? Quite a few, anyway.

I'm feeling very un pregnant today. :-/

Oh, congrats on your test result, Piña. That's excellent.

Secretlypregnant · 08/02/2014 15:03

Great news on the results, Pina! Really pleased for you.

Thinking of you, mssleepyhead, hope all is going well.

PinaColadas · 08/02/2014 15:13

Keep thinking of Misssleepyhead

Thanks every one, very pleased with the results.

What about ASOS Abimci they have loads if maternity things

Secretlypregnant · 08/02/2014 15:17

Abimci if you can afford it then Tiffany Rose are supposed to be the bee's knees. People do sell them on eBay after wearing them once. I have never had an occasion to buy one for while pregnant, sadly!

mssleepyhead · 08/02/2014 16:55

Thank you for all the positive thoughts everyone. Just saw our little baby : ) heart beat heard, brain and spine seen, but no movements apart from a little wave. I think he was asleep : ) led to a good profile shot which I'm now studying alongside the nub theory but I can't quite work it out! So relieved...

Measurements put me at 12+1, but I'm not sure that's right so won't update my stats until my official scan a week on Monday.

Thank you again everyone - you were a great support xx

Secretlypregnant · 08/02/2014 16:59

Oh, fantastic news! Brilliant, mssleepyhead, so pleased for you!

Secretlypregnant · 08/02/2014 17:00

I've been trying to figure out nub theory too! Very intriguing.

jessplussomeonenew · 08/02/2014 17:01

Missing most - pate
Best side effect - being looked after by everyone who knows
Struggled most with - sickness
Best / strangest reaction to announcement to news - not really told people yet. Though my tennis coach was incredibly excited which was nice!
Most looking forward to - meeting this little person
Most worried about (aside from medical worries) - sleepless nights
Tummy status - 2 - no bump at all, indeed no visible changes (still wearing pre-pregnancy bras & jeans)
Most tears over - being stuck indoors feeling sick and miserable
Shopaholic status - tentative aisle cruiser, haven't dared buy a thing yet!

HungryHorace · 08/02/2014 17:03

That's brilliant news, mssleepyhead! So pleased. :-)

What did you think you were, dates wise? I've been moved forwards a whole week at my dating scan, and 4 days with DD. But we are both tall, so it's not really a surprise!

I'm utterly crap at nub theory, it has to be said.

mszeen · 08/02/2014 17:04

hello all,

glad to see there are loads of positive scans and that everything is good with you mssleepy... xx

I have to say I haven't caught up with much really, just enough to know there are some newcomers (welcome) and that hungry you have inspired me to go for an oyster travel system... I am obsessed Grin Thank is of course providing that all is well at my scan on the 11th... Fx xxx

nothing really to report other than am officially 32now and had my booking in on my bday - blood tests not my best bday pressy Smile oh and @ 13+5 I still have quite sick days - today being one... although they are easing... thankfully xxx

PinaColadas · 08/02/2014 17:37

Misssleepyhead that's great news so pleased you saw your precious :)

HungryHorace · 08/02/2014 17:52

Ha ha, mszeen...glad to be of service! :-)

Did you have a good birthday apart from the bloods?

I sometimes feel queasy but it fades quite quickly. Apart from the total exhaustion and utterly bizarre dreams I wouldn't really know I was pregnant. Oh, and I'm eating shed loads! Oops.

PinaColadas · 08/02/2014 18:03

Still having strange dreams too! I'm just about to have a takeaway, we are eating our feelings tonight, found out today we need a new boiler wahhhh!

There's 1K+ out the window. We knew it was coming, when we bought the house we knew it was old and didn't have a lot of life left in it but it's still rubbish after we have been saving so hard for the baby. Better to happen now than when I'm on maternity though I suppose.

lucyfluff · 08/02/2014 18:31

Brilliant news mssleepy Smile Im so glad all is well for you. You can relax now!!

Told inlaws and that went down well....they seemed quite pleased but going to wait till officially ok on wed before we announce to the world!!!

Can someone explain the nub theory please???!!!

HungryHorace · 08/02/2014 18:45
