Great news on the scan!

Thanks hungry yes not long now!!!

Sleepy hope you get it sorted soon ThanksThanks

Thatsnotmyfigure · 07/02/2014 15:41

That's great Lynnie. Hope the weekend goes quickly for you Owly! Good luck for Monday!!
I have finally got that relieved feeling as got the results of the combined test today. I've been on tenterhooks all week and was praying it would come before the weekend (Cazbug hope your letter comes tomorrow but agree good news if no phone call)
I wasn't sure initially as the risk is 1: 424 which sounded high to me.I was hoping for a number in the thousands. I couldn't get a decent perspective on it as there was no explanation letter and the midwife gave me the wrong screening test booklet so I couldn't interpret the results. Anyway I called them and they said it was a good result as due to my age I'm high risk (1:67) but the results have lowered it significantly. So nothing to worry about. I've been affected by my friend's very bad result last year and having the reassurance I needed and having shed another tear for her I feel a weight off my shoulders (DH thinks I'm hormonal and bonkers btw)
Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend and hopefully some time on the sofa!!

PinaColadas · 07/02/2014 15:50

Thats That's great news, same to you, enjoy the weekend. i'm hoping no one on here is having too much trouble with this terrible weather, its absolutely devestating. I got flooded 5 years ago and it was awful, I feel so sorry for everyone :(

This is sooooooo random, but wonder if anyone knows....

I know you're meant to try really hard to drink 8 glasses of water during pregnancy, more than ever. Now my question is: is cordial ok and does it still count as water intake? I can't get enough of Robinsons Peach juice (sugar free) but i'm concerned I should be drinking straight up water? Sounds rediculous but just wanted to check Confused

flymo79 · 07/02/2014 16:20

Pina I think fluid is fluid, so cordial is fine. what ever you can get down you! I think my funny turn the other week was due to not having enough fluid the day before. speaking of water... I feel devastated for flooded people too, especially the elderly and preggo ladies or ones with LOs. I heard this awful news stories about farmers having to move their livestock, so heartbreaking.

mssleepyhead · 07/02/2014 16:29

Thanks for all your kindness today everyone. After a bit more light brown discharge today I managed to get a private scan booked at the fetal medical centre tomorrow. It's the only way DH can come with me and I just don't want to go to a 12 week scan on my own. Some spotting without cycling today, and I might be imagining it but my abdomen feels a bit sore and achey. I'm starting to prepare myself for the worst, just in case. Appointment is at 2.30 tomorrow; it will be good to know.

3rdtymmummy2b · 07/02/2014 16:31

Thankyou for the welcomes and i think they will be hungry my ds1 was a sept baby so i will probs end up with one of the oldest in the year and youngest x

flymo79 · 07/02/2014 17:11

everything crossed for you mssleepy xxxx

weeza13 · 07/02/2014 17:16

hope you are all doing ok. Mssleepyhead, good luck for your scan tommorow, I know its nerve wracking but at least you won't be on your own and I'm sure it will all be fine. I have hit the 16 week mark and have really noticed my tummy starting to pop out,so have others who feel the need to touch it which I find weird but have been told to get used to it as it gets worse. I suppose at the moment at least its only friends not complete strangers. Also constantly need the loo but I am drinking masses of water but really missing full fat caffeine full lardy coke. What are any of you missing?

Ruggle · 07/02/2014 17:23

13 weeks today, and I'm missing food and sleep.....and the sofa (coz I came to work for the afternoon and am regretting it, as everything aches!)

One thing to celebrate is I haven't been sick today (yet).......
Yay!

Thatsnotmyfigure · 07/02/2014 17:56

Definitely missing my Weekly Americano. I've not eaten pate in years but keep having this strange urge for it. I've never been very good at being told what not to do Smile

weeza13 · 07/02/2014 20:05

Oh and sleep, really missing sleep but may as well get used to functioning on very little of the blissfull slumber.

Owlysims · 07/02/2014 21:55

Weird question which I'm sure none knows the answer to but... I was considering asking if when they do my bloods at the scan they could also check my immunity to slap cheek...only because the childminders at the toddler group I help run mentioned it's going around at the moment (no kids at the club so no risk at the moment!) just thought if it's in my area my dd or me may come into contact with it and would be good to know if I'm immune and don't have to worry or not immune and need to be more aware/avoid if any of their kids get it. What do you think? Do you think they'll think I'm overthinking or that they can't even do it there anyway? Any experience?! thanks in advance!!

Polkadot1 · 07/02/2014 22:59

Hi folks! Hope everyone's well, good to see the tests and scans are all coming on! Has anyone got any wierd rashes? I started off with a red pimply stingy ( not itchy) rash on my arms last Friday. I thought it was the chlorhexidine scrub at work (operating theatres), so wasn't too worried, but on Tuesday it developed on my ankles. Very small red dots in patches- quite obvious, but nor scaly, itchy, but burns in the shower or bath. Not used any new products. Then it went to my knees and hands. So I went to the GP, worried it maybe chicken pox or some infective rash I should be worried about being 14 weeks. The GP hadn't a clue, got another GP in to check who had 30 years experience- no clue either. I asked if it could just be "sensitive skin" or "hormones", or allergic dermatitis, but he said unlikely, but not to worry, and gave me some emollient cream. It's still there.... But I'm fine! Just never had a rash before!

travispickles · 08/02/2014 02:23

If you read pregnancy symptoms on here, someone did mention a rash? Not sure if its the same? Think pg can make you more sensitive to stuff. Keep an eye on it anyway! !

Mitchell81 · 08/02/2014 06:25

Can't believe my scan is finally going on to be on Monday. It's felt like ages away.

Owlysims · 08/02/2014 08:25

It was me Travis! I though dd had it! I don't think I have it now at all, just wondering if they can test as it's in the area, suppose ill just have to ask! Smile

Owlysims · 08/02/2014 08:26

And me to Mitchell! Finally nearly here! And I'm finally over 12 weeks as well!!! Smile

Abimci · 08/02/2014 08:52

Wow you guys move so fast on here I cannot keep up! Great news on all the scans.

22honey you should definitely check what the midwife told you as that doesn't sound right. I am low risk so they said it's my choice whether to use birthing centre or delivery suite in hospital. I cannot see how they can force you to use birthing centre as if it's your first (like me!) you just have no idea how you're going to react to labour. I'm hoping to use the birthing centre but obviously if I can't cope with the pain and decide I need more relief then they'll have to transfer me. But it surely has to be your choice, not their's or it's not really your birth plan is it? Good luck with it all!

I am around 12 weeks today and have noticed in the evenings a little hard bit that sticks out below my belly button but it's not there in the morning. Is this pregnancy related or am I just eating too much?!!

Still having sick days but not so bad today so hoping it's easing off now. Have my scan on Tuesday so just really hoping for good news. It will be great to finally have some physical proof (other than symptoms) that something is actually growing in there!

Have a good weekend all.

mssleepyhead · 08/02/2014 09:12

5 hours ish till my scan. Didn't sleep very well last night so will be walking in like a zombie! spent much of the night rehearsing two different phone calls to my parents and sister, one good, one bad. Just in case. Really looking forward to just knowing, and if things are ok trying to resolve/understand the spotting.

Congratulations to those hitting 12 weeks - I'm there either today, tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday, depending on which day I count as my first cycle day or if I use the day I think I ovulated. Heck. I think I'll count it from today : )

Thinking of those also awaiting scans! X

Hayporter · 08/02/2014 09:27
