16 days left at work to go ..... The count down is on!

Redcliff · 19/03/2014 16:29

LOL Clever - glad its not just me!

misshoohaa · 19/03/2014 16:51

Hooray! The thread is active again, sorry for moaning although I'm secretly pleased that there's more activity on here!

Pleased the appointment went well BeeWitched.

Those having heartburn, try those love heart sweets, I can't stomach gaviscon but those little sweets help a little, and of course are delicious.

I've been furiously researching double buggies, my little boy despite being nearly 3 loves his buggy so wondering if we should get a baby jogger city select so he doesn't feel like the baby is booting him out of his buggy. We've been so happy with our baby jogger city mini but the buggy boards don't seem to fit them very well so we might have to upgrade. Worth thinking about if anyone wants a smaller age gap! Going double capacity now might save you later on.

Great to see a few people back on the mumsnet side Grin

Welcome to the thread chica

I too am beginning to generally feel pregnant now, just so tired all the time and feel majorly unfit. I like the hangover analogy, that's exactly it and I crave bad food all the time!

I'm excited as me and DH are going to test drive the Uppababy vista in john Lewis on Friday :) we might not buy it from there, trendy baby is cheaper, but I want a good demonstration to make sure it is 'the one'.

expectingtwins can't believe you only have 14 days left at work you lucky thing!

MarlenaGru · 19/03/2014 17:28

With regards to fitness, I wouldn't worry too much that you are unfit. I think a lot of it is the way our blood is working which means less oxygen so we are more out of breath. I remember being relatively fit again quite quickly once my body returned to normal again!

MarlenaGru · 19/03/2014 17:30

35.5 office days left for me! I am only working two more 5 day weeks too thanks to Easter and several bank holidays. Makes it seem less daunting!

Lmf679 · 19/03/2014 17:52

Redcliff Sorry for the late reply but yes, I was involved in all the interviews and agreed on the final candidate with my manager. I manage a team in my own office and she's in another office anyway so she wanted to make sure I was happy with the person replacing me for the next year.

CleverOl10 · 19/03/2014 17:58

Ooh you guys made me count and I have less than 30 days in work! Can't quite remember when bank hols or doc apps are but it's about 28 or 29. Scary and exciting. So much to do in those days but will be so glad to leave it all behind for a year.

Gorran · 19/03/2014 18:15

Checking in here as well! 26+5 and feeling very pregnant! Nothing to report really, touch wood all ok and trying to enjoy this time as it will be our last baby (not if my H has his way though!). I'm searching on the net this afternoon for a lovely hotel for our last childfree weekend away before baby arrives - we have two little girls already and tend to have 2 weekends away a year and leave them with doting grandparents. Figure we won't be doing this for a while once the wee one arrives so squeezing in another break when I'll be around 36 weeks!

summerbaby2014 · 19/03/2014 19:58

Helloooo. Another FB abandoner here too. I prefer to see who people are. Anyway, 27wks now and not much to report. Last week I felt like I'd been pregnant for an eternity, this week I just feel a bit fat
Glad to hear others are doing well

ohcluttergotme · 19/03/2014 20:00

Hi all, going to try and pop in here and keep up. Definitely guilty of just popping into Facebook thread and neglecting mumsnet thread.
I'm 27+1 with my third and definitely feeling pregnant. Got the start of pelvic girdle pain which is pretty sore and I forget that I can't walk fast anymore!
I was signed off sick last week and this week and have A/L next week. Return to work on 31st for 6 weeks and due to only working 3 days and 2 public holidays I have 16 days at work til I finish up on 7th May. Can't wait Smile

jaykay987 · 19/03/2014 20:15

Sussex I've bought the uppbaby vista and cabriolet from trendybaby. Delivery has taken approx 2weeks - but they attempted delivery today so Fx I'll get it before the weekend!

I had my 25w mw appoint today. I'm measuring slightly ahead (27cm) but she wasn't worried.

I've another day in London tomorrow. Monday was the first time I'd been in for weeks and I was in bed by 8.30! Tomorrow I'll be at dinner with ny tem at that time - no idea how I'll cope! Grin

Expectingtwins1975 · 19/03/2014 20:23

Vickyvix - that's exactly what I did ... Had a really long play with it in John Lewis before deciding.

I can't believe I've so little time left at work - although a bit cheeky cause I've been off for the last 3 weeks. Consultant has ordered no work after I get to 28 weeks and I'm not about to argue with him :)

Expectingtwins1975 · 19/03/2014 20:49

Re the heartburn tablets - I've found the rennie orange ones ok ... Not massively different in taste to love hearts. Can't do the gaviscon ones they are revolting - the strawberry flavoured ones are just evil.

ElizaB3 · 19/03/2014 21:11

Hi everyone,
I'm not on FB so it's nice to see everyone back here.
We have had the house re-painted, new sofas, rugs, blinds, and had to buy a car... Now just getting started on the actual baby stuff!

Have a 4D scan booked next week; anyone else had one?
Also anyone using a maternity pillow - would you recommend?

Liquidambar · 19/03/2014 21:24

You made me check how many days I still have left. I am on sick leave till friday (although I will be in all day tomorrow for a meeting) and if I return on Monday I still have 35 days... seems a lot!
But I am being optimistic that the baby will not arrive before 37 weeks... which seems unlikely at the moment. Saturday I will be 28 weeks and that is big milestone! After that I want to make it till Easter (32 weeks).

dramajustfollowsme · 19/03/2014 21:33

I actually sorted some baby stuff today. Washed the carseat cover and pram seat.
Now I know this is another girl, I'm just going to wash the packed away clothes and put the little ones back in the drawers.
Well, I will once we sort dd's big girl bedroom.
My waters broke at 34wks last time so I feel like I don't have much time.
I'm trying to just bury my head in the sand. It will get done, somehow.

MarlenaGru · 19/03/2014 21:40

New sofas Eliza... Before baby Shock

Ours are awful but will be waiting another 6 years for new ones... DD still can't resist using ours as a trampoline\climbing frame\bouncy castle Grin

dramajustfollowsme · 19/03/2014 22:09

Our sofa must be at least 50% puke and pee. We can't take the covers off and it is suede. Bought in those hazy, before children days! Confused
I've begged dh to agree to buy a leather sofa so that it can at least be wiped but he wants to wait until the new baby is about a year old.
I think the sofa may have walked out by then! Blush
I'm praying this one doesn't get reflux that lasts until 10 months. Dd has hit every wall/surface in this house. Thank god the floor is wooden and washable paint is my saviour!

misshoohaa · 20/03/2014 07:12

Drama - us to. If only our house guests knew what they were sitting on. We've just moved into a new house with carpet, its already covered in a variety of 2 year old specimens. Luckily we are pulling it up in a few weeks as its so manky! Laminate floors all the way.

A few people must be well into the third trimester, time is flying! Soon this thread will be filled with hideous labour stories.....or hopefully easy peasy ones where the babies shoot our like peas. Who's watching the new one born series!? Love the Bristol accent - it's awesome!

Mitchell2 · 20/03/2014 07:36

Eliza... Re pregnancy pillow I've been using a £9.99 mothercare wedge thingy. I love it! I know others on there have the dream genii as well and think that's great too.

Redcliff · 20/03/2014 08:13

I have a wedge pillow and love it - fits nicely under my (rather large) bump but small enough to move quickly if I need to turn over.

Our old sofa was a mess and if we still had it now I don't think I wouldn't be able to get out of it.

ohcluttergotme · 20/03/2014 11:02

I have a 9.99 orthopaedic pillow from dunelm, it's a wedge shape so part helps support my legs and part supports my bump. Really comfy and think I'm sleeping better but tricky when turning which I do a lot !

Lmf679 · 20/03/2014 11:56

Does anyone have any recommendations for maternity nightwear? Am thinking more for the hospital when in labour and if I have to stay after. I've had a little look and found a nice set on La Redoute (for after) but the others i've seen all seem a bit 'nanna nightie'

Jessiebaba · 20/03/2014 16:03

I've still got 42 days left to work! Sad Feels like ages compared to the rest of you! I prefer to think of it in weeks...which is 10! Smile

I've got the Theraline pillow which was recommended to me by lots of the ladies on the FB page and I like it.

Lmf I've been wondering that too. I know I won't really care how I look during labour but I want to look half decent Blush

Anyone else getting sore ribs? Not sure if it's just the way the baby is lying but for the last couple of days my ribs have been quite sore.
