Me three! Worked out today I have two 8 week blocks with the Easter hols in between (I'm a teacher) until mat leave - whoop!

I know this is really 16 weeks...4 months... BUT it makes it seem so much better to count it like this Grin

Expectingtwins1975 · 12/02/2014 20:34

I'm considering etching the days onto the wall each day in a sort of countdown to parole from prison type manner ...... Can't imagine that will annoy my colleagues - much :)

MarlenaGru · 12/02/2014 20:59

I keep thinking I have agesssssss left but we are expecting a big bit of work to arrive in march and have a 6-8 week turnaround. We got an email saying it might be delayed by a week or two and so I might be gone before the deadline! Eeeek - I am freaking out a bit at that thought!

Mitchell2 · 12/02/2014 20:59

I better get counting for a fear I won't make it. This has been a loooooooong week and maternity seems like a lifetime away!

LadyGoneGaga · 12/02/2014 21:33

MrsBon I live in Leamington so would be nice to meet up. How old is your older one? I've got a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl.

I have 37 working days left! Still ages but there are benefits of working part time!

bellygazing · 12/02/2014 22:08

Hi all, saw my consultant for the first time today. Braced myself for a fight 're me wanting a home birth after cs but she was just lovely! She talked about the risks and advantages and I left feeling really supported whatever I decide. And she's booked me in a scan for 37 wks so we can keep an eye on positioning (DD was breech, hence section). They're not all bad :) welcome to newbies and considerations to those still feeling poorly. If it helps, when I went for a scan last week a woman was sick moon the floor in the loo. Was still wet when I went for a wee...

hackneybird · 12/02/2014 22:41

hannah I'm having an ELCS after an Emcs last time. I made a good recovery quickly, and will have lots of support this time to help me recover, so it's a choice I'm comfortable with. I don't want to risk being induced via the drip again and then have to possibly go through lots of I interventions and ultimately ending in another Emcs.

I have 12 weeks left ar work with no break at all. They are going to be very stressful and busy weeks but it is going by in a flash already!

singlespeedlass · 13/02/2014 06:15

Ooohhh are we starting work countdown?! Am also a teacher, so after this week I basically have a term to go. Thinking about it like that makes it seem shorter than the number in weeks! Don't get me wrong, I love my job but hate being pregnant!!

Redcliff · 13/02/2014 08:50

Belly - do you see a consultant and a midwife? I was thinking of talking to my midwife re home birth (as she seems lovely) whereas my consultant hardly seemed to give a damm .

Got dietician appointment today - good in a way as it means I have a half day at work but really not looking forward to it. Have been on a residential training course and enjoyed some lovely rich food over the last couple of days but now thinking perhaps that wasn't the best timing.

Bezzabelle · 13/02/2014 13:15

I am off on leave now for 11 days and then when I go back only have 6 week left at work and finish on 2nd April- will only be 32 weeks but got a month of annual leave to take before maternity leave starts! So will have a nice chunk of time to spend with ds before baby comes along and rocks his world! Hopefully will get some nice spring weather. (I'm in somerset so everywhere pretty badly flooded at the mo)

Mitchell2 · 13/02/2014 13:55

63 working days left..... hmmmmm that still sounds like too many!

Redcliff · 13/02/2014 19:03

Dietician appintment went well even though I was late. Just ideas on foods I could swap - so less McDs at lunch time more salads and so on.

I am not counting days at work but started to ball in motion today to get my mat cover so sort of counts.

2blessed · 14/02/2014 10:44

Morning All,

I joined this probably about 2 threads ago and havent posted since. Have had a little lurk every now and then though.

Scan was 2 weeks ago, I didnt find out the sex (same as with DC1) and everything is ok apart from the size of my fibroids meaning I have to have at least one more growth scan. Also considering VBAC but I think growth scan will heavily influence my decision.
Was reading upthread about someone getting sick of bump comments. I tell you, if one more person comments on the size of my bump I may well flip grrr!

Hope everyone is good and enjoying pregnancy/flutters/kicks etc

Liquidambar · 14/02/2014 10:47

Mitchell 60 days for me as well.

saw my midwife this morning and she had a laugh when I said I would start my maternity leave at 37 weeks. she wants me to slow down. She was a bit worried about my headaches, slightly high blood pressure and tightening uterus. She wants me to come back in 4 weeks time rather than 6 and wants me to call tge hospital if I don't feel well.
I'm seeing the consultant on Tuesday. curious to hear his opinion.

Lmf679 · 14/02/2014 12:49

Only 39 days left at work for me! How exciting! I'm taking a week off in March so I can stay with my parents whilst our bathroom is redone and then I'm taking all my holiday in one block before mat leave so I get to leave early. Not sure what I'll do for two months at home but am sure I'll find something. I can concentrate on the nursery and enjoy being a lady of leisure until the real hard work begins.

Stacks · 14/02/2014 15:14

I'm a stay at home mum to my ds, so I'm counting down the days to life getting quite a bit harder for a while! I think I'm looking forward to it, but also expecting it to be very hard work for a while. There'll be an 18m age gap between my two, I'm going to have to wait and see what DS is like for naps and things. Just now it takes me about 20m to get him down for a nap, not sure what I'd do with baby if that continues. Early days to be worrying about these things though :)

Welcome back 2blessed, glad to hear your scan went well. I don't think I look very pregnant at all yet, so most 'bump' comments have been people saying "I'd never have guessed you were pg!". I've got lots of baggy, stretched and ill fitting clothes just now, so they hide whatever bump I do have. Looking forward to after baby is born though, planning on getting myself a personal shopper and a new wardrobe Grin

Redcliff · 14/02/2014 18:43

I know my bump is looking big now as I just got offered a seat on the overground train (always get a seat on the tube but never the overground). Hope everyone is having a lovely valentines day.

GillyBillyWilly · 15/02/2014 10:05

If I work until the end of may (which I really want to do) then I have more like 70 days left in work!
Realistically I think I'll end up finishing work mid-may though.
But we'll see!!!!!

CleverOl10 · 15/02/2014 15:54

My last day in work is 23rd May. I have three weeks off between now and then but it still seems a long way off!

MarlenaGru · 15/02/2014 16:20

Last day was meant to be 23rd too but I have a conference from 21st to 23rd so guess 20th will be. Conference at 8 months pregnant Hmm if only I didn't need the CPD!

GillyBillyWilly · 15/02/2014 16:43

I want my last day to be 30th may but it's more likely to be 23rd I think!

Not too far away Wink

OP posts:
Redcliff · 15/02/2014 22:42

How is the conference not counted as work days ?

MarlenaGru · 16/02/2014 18:00

Oh it will be redcliff but I won't be in the office after that as it is right before bank holiday weekend... More planning my "leaving" celebration lunch so it will have to be before the conference Grin

Redcliff · 16/02/2014 19:49

That makes compleat sense - I am easily confused these days .
