MsSleepy - very happy for you! I know the relief you get when you see the flicker.
Fee - I'm thinking about you. I hope you get sorted tomorrow, and it's good news.

Had my first midwife appointment, and am desperately checking the post every day now for my scan date. LMP puts me at 8+1 today, I'm so ruddy impatient though!

Had a bit of a funny moment with the midwife, at the end of the appt, she asked if she could leave her car in our car park space as she was seeing someone else nearby. We said of course, and she promptly stepped out of our door, winked at us, and knocked next door!

So lovely that next door must be expecting too... I'm going to wait and see if she mentions anything to me, the rate my stomach is ballooning it won't be long!

I think I will do antenatal again this time. It's not all that long since last time but I had elcs due to breech so I had no labour whatsoever. This will be my first labour Shock

RosesOnTheWane · 09/01/2014 18:03

Woohoo for the positive scans!!

Also very excited as I just found the baby's heartbeat with my doppler - was 174, so a good rate for 9 weeks :) (Sorry Hungry, I couldn't help myself - my scan date seems soooo far away I just wanted to make sure the baby is still gong strong in there)

Scan date on 30th January.

NameToBeDecided · 09/01/2014 18:07

Oh ladies, what do I do now? Went for an interview for a perm role earlier this week (I'm a temp) thinking I wouldn't get it and the agency just rang to say they've offered me the position. The regular hours and income will be useful beyond belief but can or should I accept? if I were a boss I'd be furious to find out in a few months time that a new member of staff knew she was pg when she started. I'm 9+ 6 so it's going to be obvious fairly soon. Wtf do I do? [Sad]

ImMarmite · 09/01/2014 18:07

I'm having a worry about this pregnancy, scan seems so far away... Haven't got excited yet but today I feel worried Hmm

NameToBeDecided · 09/01/2014 18:09

And my Sad face didn't even work Sad

Shakshuka · 09/01/2014 18:11

NTB
You should accept the job and tell them. I know it's annoying for them but you're legally entitled NOT to be discriminated against because you're pregnant. You're obviously good enough and the pregnancy is just temporary. Congrats!!!

NameToBeDecided · 09/01/2014 18:14

Do I come clean and tell them straight away or leave it a few weeks and pretend I only just found out? I hate being dishonest but I wonder if that would come across more professional.

Shakshuka · 09/01/2014 18:20

Personally, I'd accept and also let them know. I'd prefer to be honest. But if you get vibes that they might do something underhand, then perhaps better to wait? Either way, don't be ashamed or think you're doing something wrong - you're not!

RosesOnTheWane · 09/01/2014 18:25

I would also accept and let them know. They might be a bit narked but legally there is nothing they can do.
COngratulations of the job offer!

NameToBeDecided · 09/01/2014 18:28

The only thing that makes me nervous is that I'll be on probation for 3 months and the manager used to be something in HR so he's likely to know exactly what he can get away with. I suppose whatever happens they will know before probation is up so it doesn't make much difference if I get it over and done with or wait. Think on reflection I'd still like to wait till after 12 weeks though. If I'd been there years I would wait till then.

NameToBeDecided · 09/01/2014 18:29

Thank you for congrats by the way. I am excited even if I don't seem it right this minute!! Grin

HungryHorace · 09/01/2014 18:33

Ah, Roses, it's up to you if you use one. I wouldn't, and I was discussing it with my midwife today, but if you're happy doing it then fair enough!

Name, I'd definitely take the job. They can't discriminate against you for pregnancy and you don't have to tell them until 25 weeks either if you don't want to!

HungryHorace · 09/01/2014 18:34

Oh, and new Royal College guidelines is ELCS at 39 weeks now to avoid steroid use before then.

Polkadot1 · 09/01/2014 18:39

My scan date is 28th too! I had one today- they reckon I'm about 9+4, so EDD 10th Aug. Quite cute seeing the heartbeat and start of little arms/ legs wiggling! Only 27mm long but recognisable parts - how amazing is pregnancy x

Feelingfatty · 09/01/2014 18:42

Ah polka that's great news!! Do you feel a little more at ease now?? I have scan sat then booking in tues so think I might find out my scan date then maybe? Mentions something about mw ringing in notes! So fingers crossed! I'm hoping it's early feb! Just want to know alls okay and be able to tell everyone I feel like I'm all over the place with feeling ill and tired and think people may wonder why I'm being so strange!!

Ruggle · 09/01/2014 18:53

Feeling crampy again this evening...like period cramps. Haven't had anything like that for a couple of weeks. Starting to get a wee bit worried. :(

lucyfluff · 09/01/2014 18:59

Congrats name Grin I would accept the job and wait until the 12 week scan then tell the news.

I wonder how Fee is? Hope shes ok Smile

Great news on the scan polka too Grin I get to see our bean tmrw eekkk!!!

Polkadot1 · 09/01/2014 19:00

Yes it is a relief fatty - I know what you mean about just wanting to be able to tell someone (to excuse my current lethargy / lack of enthusiasm at work). But it will come. My work won't be very happy though, as were really short staffed! But as long as I give lots of notice, there's nothing else I can go though! Good luck with yours at the weekend x

2beornot · 09/01/2014 19:06

Nametobe - ok in same position (kind of). Have accepted a new job and start at beginning of march (when I'll be 4 months pg). New employers don't know yet, not going to tell them until after 12 wk scan. Only diff for me is that I found out between interview and offer (4wks) so I can't pretend I didn't know before I accepted. There was no way I was going to turn it done though-I did that before and pg ended in mmc.

Polkadot1 · 09/01/2014 19:07

Enjoy it Lucyfluff x

HungryHorace · 09/01/2014 19:09

Polka, well done on your scan. :-) And your work's staffing issues aren't your concern! Don't worry.

Lucy, exciting about tomorrow!

Ruggle, I've been a touch crampy too. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your uterus is seriously stretching, so you're bound to feel something. xx

lucyfluff · 09/01/2014 19:12

Thanks ladies, will update after its an evening one so will pop on here a bit later tmrw Grin

FEEdec · 09/01/2014 19:17

Hi sorry for disappearing, it's been a long day. Still bleeding but it's gone brown with a tinge of red rather than just red but it's heavy enough to need a pad. No cramping yet but I'm not feeling hopeful at all.

I told my boss last night and she was lovely and really supportive but in the end I stayed overnight in the hotel and went for my meeting. I'm home now so am hoping for an early night. My sons in nursery tomorrow and I'm not working so intending to spend all day in bed.

Thanks for all your support.

Miss sleepy - wonderful news on your scan!! X

Feelingfatty · 09/01/2014 19:24

Oh fee sounds like you're having a miserable time! Have you called the doctors now to get checked? I'm really hope alls okay
