Sorry I fell asleep ruggle!

Pains were like a dull ache last night and a stitchy stabby pain on the left. Its all gone this morning so must be odd pregnancy thingHmm

How are you feeling??

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 07:49

Im about a week behind you...I think the pain when needing a poo is deffo related to everything changing and moving. Have you got the lactulose??

Sorry to quiz you at 7.50am lol Smile

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 08:06

I agree that the cramping etc seem worse before a poo too.

I started on the lactulose as soon as I got a positive pregnancy test as I knew how bad it would get if I didn't. And it is really helpful, although not perfect.

Ruggle, I've got the same dates as you and I've had quite bad cramping this week. Weirdly, I think the worst was when AF would've been due (30+ day cycle). I also have the stretching and stabbing pains like others.

It's difficult to not worry about aches and pains, no matter how many pregnancies you've had. And they get worse every pregnancy too.

But if you're not seeing blood, then that's a positive sign.

I hope you're feeling better today. :-)

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 08:20

Actually, are you signed up to the Babycentre app? Some of it's a bit twee, but it's quite informative about the changes in your body. You might be surprised how much your uterus has already grown, for instance. The pains are less surprising and more understandable if you see what changes are happening.

The good thing is they've updated the app so when it says that baby is the size of a certain fruit / veg there's now a picture. Stops you having the 'what the hell is a Chinese cabbage?!' conversation!

Ruggle · 12/01/2014 08:53

Thanks everyone. Feeling much more reassured knowing it's not just me. I had really bad cramps constantly in the pregnancy that ended at 11 weeks, though probably had nothing to do with the mc itself.

Shak, so far not as bad as period pain. My period pain is so bad that I literally can't move and I break out in a sweat!

I don't need lactulose as I've not been blocked up at all (quite the opposite).

As well as the pain I've been feeling much more sick. Had some icecream last night and threw it back up after a few minutes. Earlier in the day it was my lunch of spaghetti. Both times I was fine actually eating, but soon after my tummy did a horrible flip and it all came up. Really wearing me out! I have a meeting with obs consultant on Tuesday so will discuss it all with him.
My sister said was horrendously sick in her first trimester and couldn't eat a thing, but her gp said it was a good thing (?) and wouldn't give her anything for it. Luckily her first scan showed healthy bean and she's now about 16 weeks and symptoms are subsiding. She said that it's something to do with being veggie (we both are) but I'm not so sure.

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 09:07

Diarrhoea can actually be a side effect of constipation, so it may still be worth trying the lactulose to see if it calms that down. It's only sugar syrup, so a stool softener, not a laxative.

If someone can't keep anything down they need anti sickness meds. I think your sister's GP wasn't really very good there to be honest.

At least you're feeling a bit better today though. But I can't only imagine how much you must be comparing this pregnancy to your last. It must be really hard. :-(

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 09:25

My pains seem to have stopped a little now but we're bad last week I and off so bad I had to crawl upstairs and pulling pain hurt so much and I saw bean and all great on Saturday so don't think it's something you need to worry about to much. I think if pains go away when you lie down then that's also a good sign!

So I weighed myself this morning, very nervous as didn't want to have put on loads and turns out only put on a pound Smile happy about that as last week it was more! So obviously some bloat has gone down or something!

Hope you ladies are doing good. Smile

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 09:26

Were not we're stupid autocorrect on phone!

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 09:29

I always think that too fatty...laying down on the sofa or bed and pains go away Smile

RoseHoney · 12/01/2014 09:45

Just checking in! I've been abit missing in action for a couple of weeks.
Hope all is well with everyone and all pregnancies are going okay Smile

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 10:02

Yep Lucy can't be anything to sinister if lying down stops it as would obviously continue if it was something bad!! Smile

Abimci · 12/01/2014 10:13

I had a bit of pain last week but a lot less sickness. This week no pain, but more sick. Can't win can you!

I don't see why the gp said being sick is a good thing? Especially if it's to the point of not keeping anything down. My gp said she would prescribe something if it persists but because mine comes and goes and because it takes me a week to get an appointment anyway, I haven't bothered. She did say it doesn't harm the baby though.

Have a good day everyone!

Ruggle · 12/01/2014 11:19

At what point is morning sickness considered Hyperemesis Gravidarium? I ate one piece of dry Ryvita earlier and threw it straight up. Later I had a glass of milk and that too just came up (super gross!)....and I'm wondering if anything at all will stay down today. I am still in my bed. Feeling constantly sick. No idea how mums cope when they have kids to look after at the same time. StepD is happily playing downstairs with daddy but occasionally pops up to jump on the bed.....which doesn't help...and I'm turning into a right grump!
I don't want to resort to meds but I defo won't be getting any nutrients if this continues.

CountdownBegins · 12/01/2014 11:23

Morning everyone/ just catching up on the posts- I've been having the stuffy nose too and lots of constipation :/

Travis and Hungry my 12 week scan is on the 27th too- at 4pm! Bet it will feel like such a long day.

Hope everyone is doing OK except sickness and all the other craziness our hormones are treating us to!

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 11:55

I'd say you're getting there, Ruggle.

It's not so much the food as the liquid that's the problem as baby will get what it needs from you even if you don't eat. Dehydration is the problem.

I'd call your EPU tomorrow and see if they want to assess you as you may need to go in and be rehydrated on a drip. If it's that bad, you really should consider medication too, or face maybe regular hospitalisation, which isn't ideal.

27th seems a popular date! :-) 4pm is late though. I'd go mad!

Planted some bulbs earlier then considered that maybe I shouldvt really be digging. Oops.

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 12:36

Oh ruggle that sounds awful Sad I havnt had any experience of constant sickness but my friend went to the GP and gave her anti-sickness tablets when pregnant as she was the same as you and they helped.

I have read a few threads on here that you literally have to be constantly throwing up/not keeping anything down to be kept in hospital. Not a nice option but if your feeling really bad I would ring MW for advice x

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 12:46

Weirdly since having scan (which was external) I have had very slight (only when wiping and still only tiny amount tmi) of brown discharge. I'm thinking must be okay as was literally just after scan (minutes) and has happened when wipe since but not blood like just dark discharge which to me suggests tiny bit of old blood but obviously nothing was wrong on scan so good sign yes? If fresh blood obviously it would be a worry...

Thinking I'll just mention to mw at booking in on Tuesday? What do you think??

babyspice2501 · 12/01/2014 13:40

Feelingfatty id mention to your midwife just to be on the safe side but I dont think theres anything to worry about. Like you said its old blood.

On the sickness thing I think docters see it as a good thing because women who have sickness are less likely to have a miscarraige. Im not sure why though?

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 16:43

Thanks baby spice. Very strange it literally happened 2 mins after scan, I wonder if it was pressing so hard on tummy...or just coincidence! Had it about 4 times since yesterday (the small amount of brown stained discharge when wiping) but thankfully none for a while. Do you think just wait until Tuesday? Seems a bit silly ringing up when I had a scan the day it happened and all was fine??

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 16:47

Maybe pressing down dislodged some old blood, Fatty?

I'd definitely mention it to the MW and see what she thinks. I'm sure all is fine though.

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 16:57

Oh it's so horrible isn't it. Logically I can think it happened straight after, it's such a little amount I saw bean and all was fine 2 seconds early...but I'm still so worried Shock feels like scan was a waste of time now as so worried again Hmm

Do you think there's any point in ringing tomorrow when I'm seeing them anyway on Tuesday?? Don't know what to do. Dh just keeps saying its nothing and I've got nothing to worry about...

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 17:02

If it carries on, then call tomorrow, otherwise wait til Tuesday, I think.

I was only reassured for a short time after our private scan last time. I think that's part of the reason I've not wanted one this time.

I've got myself all worried about my comparative lack of sickness now. Weird how it was awful and now it's barely anything. :-/

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 17:09

Fatty - Im sure its nothing and could have been the pressure from scanning you or just general sensitivity of the cervix at the same coincidental time...bodies love to play gamea with us and make us worry!! Like others have said just keep an eye on it and mention to MW and stay away from google Grin

Killer headache here Sad made dinner for inlaws and felt so dizzy it was horrible we havnt even told them so couldnt say why I felt iffy......feeling sorry for myself!!!

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 17:10

I'm sure it's fine hungry how many weeks are you now? Probably placenta taking over?

I had a scan with dd early and didn't reassure for long but was early so thought this one might and tbh it did until discharge today Hmm oh well hopefully it's gone now like you say! Constantly going to the toilet to check! Hoping midwife seems unfazed on Tuesday! Eugh.

Really stupid question but do you think it's okay to carry on as normal tomorrow and go legs bums and tums or should I not go?? Must step away from google also!

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 17:11

Thanks Lucy I'm sure you're right logic is fighting with emotions I think! 13 months ttc are just making me want it that much more
