Me too with the dizziness today! Keep getting waves of it - and have had the joys of a 3 year olds party!

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 17:18

Google is bloody dangerous...something else my MW friend tells me to avoid!

I'd have thought it's ok to carry on, but you need to be careful that your exercises are safe in pregnancy.

I'm 9+3 now. I was last sick on Thursday. I've felt a bit sick / grotty since then, but was far worse with DD. I have the internal washing machine feeling, so hopefully that's a good sign!

My most annoying symptom is the raging thirst I have. It's driving me bonkers. :-/

What is said about bleeding is that it's not normal, but is common, if that makes sense? I think they say that because they'd always like you to mention it to your MW rather than dismiss it.

Travis, rather you than me! I'm not even dressed yet!

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 17:29

I had brown spotting with dd (a lot more than what I've had today/yesterday) so I know that everything can be fine etc. and to be honest for once Google has actually been pretty positive with other stories of women also having spotting after external scans. Hmmm only time will tell I suppose. Hopefully no more and mw will reassure tues

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 17:30

Hungry I'm also very thirsty but only really during the night... Strange!!

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 17:45

Mine was only at night, but it's now spread to all the time. :-/

I just cried at a baby sealion being eaten by an orca. :-( Last time I was pregnant it was frozen baby penguins that made me cry! DH thinks it's hilarious.

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 18:02

Awww fatty I didnt realize it had taken you that long to concieve. I dont blame you for wanting it to be an uneventful pregnancy. Im sure all will be fine Smile

I had exactly the same last pg but after sex and it carried on for a week and all was fine.

x

lucyfluff · 12/01/2014 18:02

ps rest up tmrw and eat some cake lovely Grin

Abimci · 12/01/2014 18:11

Yay, just checked the post box and finally got some appointments through. Booking in on 21st Jan, bloods on 30th and scan on 11th Feb.

Also just told my mum about the pg so at least I have someone I can talk to about it now apart from DH (and of course all of you!)

Good luck with symptoms and this working week everyone!

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 18:53

Thanks Lucy :) think you might be ring will just not do exercise class tomorrow just to air on safe side and as long as no more discharge (so far so good) just wait and see midwife on Tuesday. Thanks Smile

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 18:53

Right not ring Smile

Ruggle · 12/01/2014 18:56

Evening all!

Phoned NHS Direct and was advised to go to walk-in clinic. Waited 2 hrs despite having an appointment time. Doc prescribed antihistamines Cyclizine for the sickness but Boots pharmacist said they were bad to take in pregnancy and if I can avoid them I'd be better off. She said sickness is a sign the hormones are doing their job, and suggested I eat ginger biscuits and drink Lucozade

Ruggle · 12/01/2014 18:59

I then threw up in the car.
Got Lucozade and have had a few sips but concerned by the artificial colours in it...sunset yellow and something else. I never drink that sort of crap ordinarily.....but I am getting dehydrated now...so if it stays down (which it has so far) I guess it's a good thing.

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 19:11

If you've got HG, suggesting ginger biscuits and Lucozade is nonsense! And what works for one person doesn't work for another.

I'd be complaining about her interfering to be honest. If you're ill enough for medication, you should take it rather than risk dehydration and potential hospitalisation.

Maybe an appointment with your own GP to see what medication they suggest would be better?

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 19:12

There's a Hyperemesis thread on the board somewhere. Maybe it'd be a good idea to post there and see what the women on there can suggest?

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 19:14

Ruggle sounds awful...I would definitely go to see your doc tell him what happened and see what he says. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

WeeJo08 · 12/01/2014 19:17

Hi everyone, hope you're all cosy inside - it is disgusting out there today! (Well, it is here anyway.)

We survived the family hotel stay with all the in-laws Grin It was grand actually but very glad to be home! SILs don't get on which is difficult to say the least! We told them all our news & SIL (as I predicted) did the whole "Oh sure we all knew anyway! Congratulations...but hands up who DIDN'T know" Oh well. At least they know now.

Ruggle Hope your sickness has settled? Some people say flat coke helps? I'm not sure though, haven't tried it.

Feeling Think you're wise to skip exercise tomorrow, as if your cervix is a bit sensitive at the moment it might dislodge a bit more of the old stuff? I only say it because I find it happens after pushing myself (TMI or a BM!)

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 19:22

Have you had dark discharge as well weejo? Did midwife think it was okay? I'm definitely doing to try to rest as much as possible (with nearly 3yo!) midwife appointment is tues afternoon so not long until I see her. Tempted to ring doc tomorrow but tbh I know they'll say not to worry/talk to midwife tomorrow so no point...unless it starts again/becomes more

Glad hotel was okay and you survived :)

PinaColadas · 12/01/2014 19:32

I was told to go careful on lucozade because it contains caffeine. There are so many mixed messages in the world of pregnancy!

Abimci · 12/01/2014 19:58

Ruggle that sounds ridiculous. Why would the doc prescribe you something that isn't good to take during pregnancy? The pharmacy need to sort that out as they shouldn't be giving you conflicting information.

I was on the Lucozade yesterday as couldn't eat much. I don't normally drink stuff like that either but at least it will hydrate you and give you some energy while you cannot eat. Good luck!

2beornot · 12/01/2014 20:01

Ruggle - pharmacists are wonderful, but I'm not sure she should have gone against gp advice though. Gp knew risks and believe the benefits outweigh them!

Abimci · 12/01/2014 20:06

P.s. A bottle of Lucozade has 46mg of caffeine so not too bad if not drinking excessive amounts since 200mg per day is recommended limit in pg.

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 20:07

So I've not had anymore discharge yet but I have had backache (lower) most the afternoon, I'm thinking I will ring the hospital tomorrow and try to speak to midwife team. (Don't have an epu number here) I think I'll just explain have had dark bloody discharge over weekend alongside back pain and see what they advice. I think I might not mention scan as I think it might make them just say oh it'll all be okay and I'm so worried id rather them scan me and check if that's what they'd have done...what do you think??? Sorry for going on but I'm driving my dh doolally!!

HungryHorace · 12/01/2014 20:15

Maybe Lucozade Sport would be better as it's isotonic, so hydrates better?

Fatty, for your peace of mind I'd call the midwives and see what they say. It's probably best. :-)

Feelingfatty · 12/01/2014 20:16

Thanks for answering me hungry, I know not much people can say but as you say maybe for peace of mind ring as I could cry at the moment Sadjust want everything to be okay and dh is so optimistic which is great but means he doesn't want to talk through my worries so so helpful to have you ladies to talk to!

babyspice2501 · 12/01/2014 20:28

Yes feelingfatty I would definatly phone tomorrow for piece of mind. I phoned nhs direct last sat night because I was so ill with a cold and my sore boobs stopped being sore! He told me there was nothing to worry about and the cold wont hurt my baby which made me feel so much better. So no matter how silly you think you are being, dont worry. There is no problem too small when it comes to pregnancy xxxx
