Hi girls

My girl, I'm not really worried, it just frustrates me, I find myself checking every 10 minutes if she has replied yet, and she has already left good feedback for us, so we don't have anything to loose by leaving neg feedback, but if she would just reply and do the decent thing then the neg feedback wouldn't be half as bad as if she just carries on ignoring the situation. Do people who lie and cheat on there really expect the buyers to just roll over and loose £20+, without kicking off?

TBH, I don't think she really intended to lie, I think she probably had a quick look at the monitors, saw that they worked and she had the original box still and thought she could get away with advertising them as new, but the right thing for her to do now is to refund the costs, some people just won't back down whether they are right or wrong.

Anyway, the sun is shining!!!!!! and there is actually some blue sky out there!!! Golly gosh, you would think we were in August!!! I wonder if we will actually get through today with out rain?!!!

LeBe · 24/08/2006 09:40

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It really is good to hear about other people who are going through the same as me, as if pregnancy isnt hard enough its not great to be surrounded by people who arent pregnant and try to start conversations about itchy boobs and bladder weakness!
Also on the subject of stretch marks (i already had them before i was pregnant, the doctor tried to assure me it was because i was very premature and my skin had to stretch??? but im sure it was too much chocolate) but i never had any on my belly before and was totally oblivious to the fact that they had arrived 3 weeks ago because they are on the underside of my bump which as im sure you all know i can no longer see, but bless my mum for pointing out the fact whilst trying to feel the baby kick. I now check about 15 times a day in the mirror and to my horror seem to get a new one every 5 mins. But i wondered if anyone had the same thing as me, i only have about 5 stretch marks on one side and about 5 million (ok slight exaggeration) on the other!? Also ive tried lots of lotions and potions including my favourite coco butter and obviously didnt work for me.

HopingCat · 24/08/2006 09:45

Hi Lebe. We are due on the same day, and this is my first baby too so we are in exactly the same position. Do you know if you're having a boy or girl?

I can't help with the stretch marks thing (yet) but I'm sure they can't be far away now!

NatalieJane · 24/08/2006 09:52

I haven't actually got around to using it yet, but, many people are recommeneding bio-oil to not only prevent stretch marks but to make old ones appear better, apparently it works on old scars as well, maybe worth a try, but TBH, for every person that swears that creams and potions worked for them, there is another three or four that swear nothing works...

saralou100 · 24/08/2006 11:07

hi everyone.... away from the computer for only a couple of days and it's just taken forever to read and catch up....

welcome lebe first of all!! congratulations on your first baby.. this is a fab place for discussing the joys of pregnancy!!

nj - lovely comment, your right who does have the perfect sized bump? i shall remember that every time someone feels the need to comment!!

no leaky boobs here either,, except in a hot bath i can get a little dribble out, but no embarassing wet patches in the street (yet).. i went to boots the other day, had so much fun going round the shop hunting out all the free stuff.... then came home and had my own little pampering session, if only i could get at my toenails a bit easier, they were a bit tricky to paint!!!

only another 4 weeks to go at work now, have brought my mat leave forwards, was supposed to start at34wks, but now starting at 31wks!!! sister thinks i'm evil cause she'd spent ages working everything out, then i want to change it.. but it's brought so much joy back into my life, was getting very down about it all, last week we had no managers all on holiday or ill which left myself and another colleague as the most senior on the ward and we both really felt the strain.. i can't make decisions to save my life at the moment, walking hurts and don't get me started on moving patients!! still happy ending!!

i'm going now, cause i'm waffling..........

Hi Hopingcat

I am having a boy how about you do you know? Are you suffering yet im massive (so i have been so kindly informed by everyone) so im really feeling the strain of being pregnant, and being the first pg i didnt know what to expect and no one tells you the joys associated do they i bet they all just laugh afterwards! Lucky you - no stretch marks i was so smug about it until they appeared and now i feel abit foolish cos they seem to be making up for lost time! Also does it feel like an eternity until 6th Nov? it does for me.

Hi Saralou thankyou for the welcome, its really good here reading everyones comments.

Oh and i tried Bio - oil and i must admit i used it once and never again, it smelt funny and was so oily (i know it oil) but i couldnt get it of my hands for hours and my belly felt like a deep fat fryer all day, maybe should of stuck with it though and maybe wouldnt be in the postion i am now!

Delia · 24/08/2006 12:06

Hey all, hope your all feeling well today and enjoying the glimps of sun!

Welcome LeBe I'm also a first timer and have found the support on here invaluable, hopefully we can all offer you the same.

M2T - nice to hear I'm not the only fishing widow on here, i wish i understood the fasination but when he leaves his bait in the car for a couple of days in the hot sun my stomach just can't understand

Stacey - how did your brother get on at the hospital? hope everythings okay.

NJ - i'm with you i'm usually ready for xmas by the end of Sept but this year that's not going to happen, i'm struggling to find things as i can't get out the house without someone running me round, it will be internet all the way for me, i'am struggling with all the family birthdays at the moment both sides are all in Sept and Nov! it's never ending this time of year.

Debz99 · 24/08/2006 12:32

Afternoon ladies !

Went and picked up my maternity belt for my SPD today from the hospital, she showed me how to put it on etc etc .. it's the most uncomfortable thing I have ever had to wear, it has to go across the top of your bum cheeks and under the bump. Unfortunatley if you sit down and then stand back up it rolls down !!!!!! Waste of time, took myself off to the toilets 3 times to adjust it before getting out the hospital and finally lost the plot with it walking back to the car when it slid under my bum taking my knickers with it ! Good job I was wearing trousers so whilst setting off in the car I took it off and slung it on the back seat which is where it will stay until I calm down LOL

I will persevere with it cos I felt the difference when it was in the correct position I didn't waddle as much and felt hardly any discomfort.

Thanks Mygirllollipop I will try again tonight when I get home from work and can drop my trouser at the drop of a hat to reposition the bloody thing LOL !!! The only way I could have seen this work is if i covered the whole of the bump then it would have no-where to roll ! As it is the belt is no wider than 3 inches and rolls at every opportunity !

Kaybee7777 · 24/08/2006 14:52

Hi LeBe
I have tried that bio-oil on scars and haven't found it that helpful, but have it on the ready just in case I get any stretch marks ( touch wood!)
I am not due until 19th Nov so a a couple of weeks behind you. I am having a boy too

LeBe · 24/08/2006 15:07

Hi Kaybee,

Does Nov seem far away for you too? Is it your first baby?

Have you got any names lined up if you dont mind me asking i cant set my heart on one in particular.

And i will keep my fingers crossed that you dont need the Bio - oil!!

Kaybee7777 · 24/08/2006 15:33

Hi LeBe,
yes this is my first baby and Nov seems forever away! I have finished work already so am bored at home
We have a few names floating around but it's so hard to decide! The ones we like seem to be the most popular baby names out there, like Jack and Joshua. My husband likes Jasper but I am not too sure. And yes, we do seem obsessed with "J" names for some reason

I think this pregnancy has flown by, my first seemed to take so long, even looking back it seemed like a long time, but this one has just gone! I am hoping that with the busy time coming up of sorting out the nursery and finishing decorating the hall, and then doing the kitchen and bathroom as well, hopefully it will carry on going so quickly. I think the time it will slow down (if it is going to) is when DS starts school, I am going to be on my own all day for the first time in my life!

NatalieJane · 24/08/2006 15:59

Forgot about the name! We think we have settled on George William, it will def be George, just not 100% sure on the middle name, I really wanted John for my BIL, but George John just doesn't sound right.

Debz99 · 24/08/2006 16:05

It's flown past for me too being due on 5th Nov, keep thinking I've got ages but in reality its only another 2 full months ! We have decided on Ryan Stephen James for a name.

NatalieJane · 24/08/2006 16:16

See when I think of it like I am waiting till November (especially as I am actually expecting it to be in December before he puts in his appearance!!) it seems like ages to go, but I know in reality with the work we have to do, and with all the prep for christmas on top of that, it is going to fly by! It is funny how when I was 12 weeks gone, 27 weeks seemed like ages away but now I am 27 weeks, it doesn't seem that long since I was 12 weeks IYSWIM?!!

LeBe · 24/08/2006 16:20

I think that is the problem i tried to be so organised about the birth that the moving, getting a bigger car, doing the nursery and buying everything has all been done and that is maybe why it seems to be dragging now because before all that as done i was like 'oh no we only have 4 months left!!!' but now we are ready it is like waiting with baited breath. I am still at work and believe me it is just as boring as being at home (or maybe thats just me) We have decided on Alfie Jack so he can be AJ for short but the amount of people who have told me that is the name of their dog has put me off slightly.

Im glad it isnt just me with lopsided strtch marks!!

x

Debz99 · 24/08/2006 16:34

The last couple of days baby seems to be re-creating the scences from alien, before this I had seen the usual movement of my belly when he gives me a good kick, now I can see body parts (not sure what) running along the top of my belly and my god it's weird !

I would take a picture of mine but i dont think im brave enough! All everyone has said is but they are for a good cause and i know they are right but cant i have the good cause without the stretch marks like most people i know who have had babies!?

I dont know what im gonna do when i leave work cos i havent got the internet at home (shouldnt really be on it at work either ) but im now trying really hard to persuade my other half we need the internet at home, dont think i would cope without Mumsnet now ive found it.

Also sorry if i offended anyone about the name being used for dogs i just didnt realise until now how popular the name Alfie is for dogs although i still want Jack and thats my mums dogs name so might as well go the whole hog, and she told me my brother was named after a boxer dog jer friend had and it hasnt done him any harm!
