Thanks for all the good wishes guys.

Welcome Kaybee

i wish i could get dd to walk charlee as shes 21 month but she didnt start till 16/17 month and is really unsure about it all and although she can walk she doesnt like to and cant for long periods etc, and i dont like buggy boards so a double it will have to be. ho hum!

well im really stroppy atm and peeing dp off all the time, what with wedding and baby and everything im just really stressy and dd being a bit of a moo coz we had to be out a lot sorting all the stuff out for the wedding so she hasnt been having many naps so she very cranky, which winds me up a treat, hopefully have a lazy day tomo, other than tidying the house, but if we not clear then people will just have to take it as they find it. not that anyone would judge they;r all good mates!

right must go, my bedtime really!

fatbetty · 12/08/2006 14:21

Stacey have a great hen night! Was going to say to you that I'm meeting up with a few other mumsnetters on the 17th in Reigate if you are interested. It would be nice to meet up with you, either then or at some other time but know you are probably busy with wedding plans!

Evening ladies - We had a lovley day out today all 22 of us!!!
DS seemed to enjoy himself even though he could only go on a few rides he liked watching the others and looking at the animals.

I got about 2 hrs sleep last night which was better than the night before although it was on the sofa. But i'm knackered after walking round all day so hopefully i will sleep tonight after a long hot bath.

I hope you have a fantastic hen night Stacey! Have fun

I hope your all feeling ok.

Mummy2Toby · 12/08/2006 22:06

Stacey - forgot to say, I know that you want a new buggy but I do have a maclaren twin traveller that I want to sell - really good condition but it is used - let me know if you can't find what you are looking for

Charlee · 13/08/2006 11:01

Morning all

Had a better nights sleep, DP bless him moved onto the floor to give me all the bed we did this last time i was pg as it was the only way i could sleep seems to be working again, i do feel like a bit of a cow though having him sleep on the floor while i have a double bed to myself! But i made it nice and comfortable for him with lots of blankets and duvets.

I have has a really sore pain across my bump the last few days think its probably just a pair of leg's stretching me! I'm stil having lots of movements though so im not worried.

Loads have people have commented on how much smaller my bump is today so baba must have moved itself.

Its pissing down with rain here today. luckily we missed the rain yesterday, were having a snuggly day in front of the fire today far to cold and wet to venture out!

Have a good day [smile

DebbsyandBibby · 13/08/2006 13:02

well had the fright of my life last nite thought i was going into labour, the left side of my tummy went rigid and i had a pain for about an hour like you wouldnt believe couldnt stand up sit down or do anything agonising,so i was panicking and crying thinking bibby was coming early went to bed lay on my side then it seemed to subside thankfully feel a little bit sore today in that area but the tightness has gone was this baxton hicks.

fussymummy · 13/08/2006 13:52

HI DebbsyandBibby, i just joined mumsnet last night.
I have 3 children aged 8, 5 and 3.
Sounds to me like your baby was moving into a new position!!!
Sometimes when they do that it can be quite uncomfortable.
I used to find a warm bath helped me. Never have a hot bath while pregnant, i got told at the hospital that it was bad for baby.
Good Luck, hope all goes well for you.

DebbsyandBibby · 13/08/2006 14:13

Welcome Fussymummy

Debbs i get pains all over the place but there never contraction type pains, my ribs and top of my bump are really sore today but i think thats where im being kicked everyday! But seriously if you do get any worries dont hesitate to ask your midwife they deal with ladies all the time with worries like yours so they wont think anything of it.

I have cried all day! I dont know why must be hormones i guess, i have just felt so wound up and tense all day. I decided the house was annoying me being cluttered so i cleared everything right out.
DP's gone out to get himself some food probably KFC but i feel to annoyed to eat over absolutley nothing!

I feel a bit of a twat to be honest but oh well.

DebbsyandBibby · 13/08/2006 21:14

i wouldnt know if it was a contraction like pain, charlee sorry you feel down sure its just the hormones as i have felt very tearful over the past few days.Think ill ring my midwife tomorrow as she was away on hols last week just for reassurance really hope you feel better soon charlee (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Morning ladies

We have had a busy weekend, Saturday our plasterer came round to have a look at the babies room, he says it is going to be a job and a half, but he should have it done by the middle of Septemeber, so at last we can start thinking about carpets and skirting board, and mostly about getting my dining room back into shape, can't remember the last time we sat down to a meal at the table, aside from the mess driving me up the wall!!!

The decorating in the hall is going well, DH managed to do a lot of the stuff I can't (up above the stairs etc.) and the ceiling, so it is coming along nicely, there is one wall in there that for some reason has loads of dinks and holes in so when the plasterer comes to do the babies room, while he is waiting for the ceiling to go off, he says he will just skim over this wall for us, so that saves us having to wall paper it!

Still haven't sorted the midwives out, I really don't want to go, I am pretty certain that there is nothing she will do anyway, I think the next time I need to see someone is at 28 weeks for Anti-D, so I might just accidently forget till then!! It is only three weeks away anyway.

Debbsy I hope you have calmed down after your fright, as the others have said if you are in doubt ring someone, that is what they are there for (and for all of my moaning about midwives, if I thought for one second that something wasn't right, I would be the first one on the phone!!)

Welcome to all of the new ladies that have joined over the last week or two, sorry I am not normally ignorant, just didn't have time to catch up properly for a while!! It is lovely to see our list growing, it doesn't seem that far to go until the list starts turning into a 'who went into labour first' list!!

Have a good day everyone

Oh and Stacey hope your hen night went well

saralou100 · 14/08/2006 11:34

morning gals... lovely weekend here, dp's birthday was really nice. turns out 2 friends were holidaying around the south coast and were here for dp's birthday, so we had a lovely meal and sat round drinking and playing cards all night (amazing 2 glasses of wine and i was merry, i'm a cheap date)

all those having hormonal issues, i'm exactly the same, i'll laugh shout and cry all within an instant of each other, dp doesn't know where he stands right now with my swinging moods

Hi everyone.
I just wondered if anyone is taking iron supplements? My friend is a midwife and she suggests taking them to keep iron levels up, she says it is terrible how many women in labour arrive at the hospital and are clearly aneamic but have not had a blood test since booking in appointment. Has anyone had blood tests for iron levels since 12 weeks? And can I take iron without getting a prescription?

Kaybee7777 · 14/08/2006 12:50

Hi, thanks for the welcome everyone.

HopingCat - I am mostly enjoying being pregnant, but yeah I agree it seems to be going very slowly! I have bought a few bits and pieces but didn't want to get too carried away.

I was a bit scared over the weekend as baby didn't move much at all, and just as i was about to ring the hospital last night he started up again. So far today he has been reasonably active, but am still a bit worried. Have called my midwife and left a message but don't really know what to do... Should I be worried?????

staceym11 · 14/08/2006 13:01

Hi everyone,

My hen night went well thanks. Was only a few of us (my mum, best friend from primary school, another mate and my bros gf) but was really funny and after a glass and a half of wine i was tiddly! lol

dp went out on his stag do the same night and had a good time so im glad it all went well as he was worried. apparantly (according to my bro) he spent all the time in the club saying he wanted me to be there! aww sweet!

Right catch up:

fatbetty i would love to meet up at some point but atm i think its all a bit much as im still very busyrunning around for wedding and dd is sensing something isnt right (either baby or wedding) and has turned into a monster overnight! lol but would love to meet up at some point!

Mummytotoby - Have you got everything for the buggy, like cosy toes, head huggers and raincover. Raincover is the main one but i need at least one cosy toes and head hugger obv for little bump! i have managed to convince dp out of getting a brand new one so it would be great. How much were you thinking? and would you possibly be able to email pics?

HC - if i remember rightly i think you can only get iron on prescription. if you're worried about you're iron levels then just fib to the mw and say you've been feeling dizzy a lot and they should do bloods to check your iron levels. iv had 2 blood tests since booking but they were a result of the hospital visit due to the fainting!

staceym11 · 14/08/2006 13:04

Kaybee, they dont always move the same amount, your lo could be going through a growth spurt and needs more sleep. as long as you feel more than about 4 movements in a day (i think they count that as 4 kicks) then there is no reason to worry.

your lo could also be kicking where the placenta attatches which means you wont feel it as much. as long as they'r still moving and making you uncomfortable (as they do) i wouldnt worry, but mw isnt going to think you're odd for worrying so if you want to be reassured just keep on till they get you in to listen to the heartbeat!

HopingCat · 14/08/2006 13:07

Kaybee - if you are worried about baby's movements try a really cold drink or ice lolly. I do start each day thinking 'why hasn't baby moved yet' but eventually he/she moves. I have not noticed any pattern to it, but I have heard that ice cold drinks are meant to get babies moving. I've also found that if I have pressure on one part of my bump for a while then the baby tries to kick it away eg wear trousers that don't quite fit anymore, or sit with arms folded on bump, or lie on your side and wait until baby kicks the bed!

Mummy2Toby · 14/08/2006 13:40

stacey - I have everything for the buggy - 2x headhuggers, 2x footmuffs and the raincover, as I said it is really good condition (but a bit stiff to put up as it has been folded for a while, dh is going to put some WD40 on it)- dh originally wanted £125 for it but I am sure we can come to some sort of agreement as it is you - I don't think I have got your email address anymore, but am happy to send pictures if you want them.
Hope everyone else is fine - HC was it you that said about iron suppliments? I am still taking pregnacare, you don't need a persciption for it and it has all sorts of vitamins in it including iron, I took it all through with ds and was not defficiant in anything.

saralou100 · 14/08/2006 13:55

beware with iron supplements they can make you constipated!!! which is why i won't take them... but you don't need a prescription for them! i'm having another blood test at 28 week appointment aswell as anti-d injection, really looking forward to that appointment i can tell ya! i hate having blood taken, i have no veins and bad experiences in the past which cause me to tense up and make it hurt even more
