mummytotoby, my email is stacey_loves @ hotmail.com if you've got pics that would be brill. i was looking at £100 inc. postage if that would be possible, if its not then dont worry, we'r just having a bad time with money as tax credit have fucked us around again (sorry language) and now wont be entitled to Sure Start grant either so gotta watch pennies! let me know!

Mummy2Toby · 14/08/2006 18:24

stacey - I will try to email you tonight (after I have spoken to dh!) I have just applied for the surestart as well, do you mind me asking why you are not entitled?

Charlee · 14/08/2006 19:00

Evening all

Im feeling a bit happier today, i have bben shopping and stocked the house with loads of yummy food and fresh fruit and veg.

HC. im booked in for a full set of blood tests before i have my anti D injection at 28 weeks which is apparently routine but i dont know if i would be having them if i wasnt reshus neg.

Im feeling really sore today this baby sure can move and kick, i didn't have a sore bump this early with DS so i figure this baby must be bigger, i feel bruised all over my bump and ribs where it's been moving around so much.

I got my physio appointment today for 7th Sept so hopefully i can get my carpal tunnel syndrome sorted and im sleeping better now dp's moved onto the floor, bless him the things he does for me

I hope your all well and good.

Charlee · 14/08/2006 19:02

Im about to apply for surestart, i think you have to get a certain amount a year to be entitled. Not sure how much it is, i dont know if were entitled i think so but im going to apply and see what they say.

Kaybee7777 · 14/08/2006 19:15

Thanks HopingCat and Stacey!
I hadnt really worried about it too much before, but yesterday i felt pretty much nothing until about 8.30pm. My DH made me lie on the bed and then had his head on my tummy trying to get baby to do something!
Today has been a bit better but my antenatal notes said to contact MW if any change in movements so I was a bit worried. Popped into the hospital and got to listen to his heartbeat for half an hour so it's all good now :-)

eeyoreuk · 15/08/2006 07:14

HI all I had my 28 week appt on Friday and she had already got the bloods done when i was having the glocose test - so i think you will find that at 28 weeks the vampires will take more blood from you all. As for sure start i am not even applying as i am in full time work i will not be eligable. goto gogle uk and type in sure start it brings up loads of info.
I have found as soon as i lie still or sit still the bump moves - it could be because the motion of the amniotic fluid relaxes them and sends them asleep - but i can play now if it kicks i tap that area and it kicks again it iss really funny. must go hi to all the newbies eeyoreuk

podglet · 15/08/2006 08:13

Hi all,

Hi to Keybee, glad you got some reassurance in the hospital. My LO doesn't move much during the day (although I am rushing around at work so may be missing some movement) but in the evenings it seems to be play time and is all over the place!

My Midwife told us to apply for the sure start grant anyway as we live in a sure start area. This is even though we own our own place and both work full time?! No harm in applying I suppose, they can only say no!

Glad you had a good hen night Stacey and hope things aren't too frazzled leading up to the big day!

Went to my friends twins christening on Sunday and had a lovely time. Saw loads of people in the church that I haven't seen for ages and the party afterwards was great. Even DP had a good time, got on like a house on fire with my best friends Dad! Best comment of the day goes to my 8 year old godson who wrapped his arms round me and said "It doesn't matter that you are getting fatter Aunty Jen, coz I can still get my arms round you" I nearly cried... It was the nicest thing anyone has said about the size of my bump, I am so tired with the "oooh aren't you big" "are you sure you're only 6 months?" "are you sure there's only 1 in there?" comments.

Ok moan over, hope you all have a good day!

podglet · 15/08/2006 08:13

Whoops clearly I mean Hi to Kaybee! sorry

I've had a 28 week appointment already, without having bloods done. I was just under 28 weeks at the time though so perhaps it will be done at my next appointment, which is 30 weeks. If not I'll ask why not.

I don't know anything at all about grants or sure start, but I think I'll have a look into it now. I just assumed we'd have to live off one wage, plus any tax credit that applies to us I suppose. I need to do my research.

Is anyone getting braxton hicks now? I've had it a couple of times. When I told DH he asked how I knew it wasn't real labour. I suggested that labour contractions would hurt a lot and I wouldn't be this calm if it hurt. Plus I really am not expecting to go into labour at 28 weeks!

staceym11 · 15/08/2006 09:47

HC yeah im having braxton hicks, which are uncomfortable but dont hurt (unless im walking strangly then they hurt a bit) but nothing like labour, you'll know when you're in labour!

well i looked at it all properly yest, i thought i wasnt entitled to the Sure start grant coz we dont get working tax credit anymore but have looked and as our CTC is still over £548 we can get it, which is cool so im gunna get a new buggy with it and some bedding, a few clothes and thats it!

Right got to wake my daughter up, dunno whats wrong with her she hasnt got up yet!!!

HC - I haven't had any painfull BH's yet but do get the odd tightening now and again. I still find it really funny when baby moves over as it looks like my stomach is alive as it moves all by itself!

Kaybee7777 · 15/08/2006 13:57

I think I must be getting BH too, as my tummy goes all tight and hard and I'm sure it can't just be the baby moving!
Charlee - I love just lying down staring at my tummy and watching various bits of baby pop out - isn't it fasinating

HopingCat · 15/08/2006 15:19

It is so fascinating. I sit and watch my tummy moving too! I wish I could tell what things are. Sometimes it's a bottom and I can sometimes feel a foot, but other times it could be any part. I bet in a few weeks time it's going to be a bit more uncomfortable as baby pushes and kicks harder.

Debz99 · 16/08/2006 09:00

Don't think I'm getting BH and am sure I would know if I was LOL Keep getting an aching on the left hand side up by my ribs and assume this is a body part of LO having a rest on them !!!!

Had GTT yesterday just gotta wait for the results might get them today as I have MW appointment and if she can be bothered and ring through I can have them toady ! Hope you are all well, getting a few more pregnancy symtoms now. Unstable pelvis, pins and needles, weeing every half and hour and more recently (which I intend to discuss with MW and am sure it's connected to the pelvis problem)I have an aching pubic bone ! It aches to walk or to tunr over in bed !!!!

Charlee · 16/08/2006 09:03

Morning, not alot to report today but wanted to log in and say hi!

Sorry my typing has got worse too !!! LOL

FoghornLeghorn · 16/08/2006 09:27

See this is why this site is so useful and everyone else is so bloody useless ! I have just found out we are entitled to the SureStart Maternity Grant too because of our child tax credit, how ridiculous that no-one has ever mentioned it to me before .

Anyway, I will be getting a form and applying ASAP.

Baby is moving so much now, DH can see my tummy moving and DD absolutely loves it, she keeps blowing raspberry's to try and make the baby laugh, bless her.

FoghornLeghorn · 16/08/2006 09:36

Oh, and I have had braxton hicks this time that i never had with DD. We went to the cinema a few weeks ago and DH started to get quite worried

Charlee · 16/08/2006 11:39

I am making DP take me to a place that sell babystuff today, its called Gooseberry Bush and it sells new and second hand materninty and baby stuff - i love it!

My knickers anre cutting into my belly and my underwired bra is as well so sod the financial aspect im buying a maternity bra and pants!

staceym11 · 16/08/2006 12:21

morning everyone, well i got rid of dd to her nannies house last night so managed a quite nice night sleep, she there till this evening so i can relax today! been looking through mags for baby stuff to buy with the maternity grant (and Foghornleghorn they dont tend to tell you what you're allowed, i only knew about things coz i researched with dd as we were so poor then!!)

right going to resume my position on the couch with a bowl of blackforest gataue cake! mmmm!

Delia · 16/08/2006 12:56

Hi All

Well just got back from Canada and found that you have all been very usy on here over the last 2 weeks so would take me days to catch up!

Welcome to the newcomers.

Is anyone else getting hippo ankles? by the time i've been up for a couple of hours my ankles are so big i can't even wiggle my toes! have spent as much time as possible over the holiday with my feet up and the rest of the family saying ohh that looks sore do you want some more ice!

Bethbe · 16/08/2006 13:31

Hi All,

Just got back from holiday so have a lot to catch up with!

LOs moves: If you're prepared to do it, - I find that lying on my front really makes the baby kick - I think because of the restricted space (you can feel it better)! I have always slept on my front and can't sleep in any other position despite the discomfort!

Kaybee: Welcome, - we share a due date - I'm first time too!

A couple of questions:-

Heartburn: Gaviscon makes me puke, - I'm taking on average nearly twice the recommended dose of Rennie, - anyone got any suggestions? Stomach transplant perhaps?

Birth drugs: Info on pain relief kind of available but does anyone know anythng about the anti-sickness drugs, what they are and their side affects?

All the best.......Isn't entering the third trimester exiting (and uncomfortable)?

Bethbe
