Huge congrats tooth Really glad all is well.

Fx for sultana. Things seemed to be picking up! Hoping for new babies soon.

Well we are now home.....
She came off the lights at 8am so we had to then wait 6hrs for more blood tests. They took her blood at 2pm and at 3:30pm they came back to say that they hadnt been able to get enough.
Doc came through at 4pm to take it from a vein and then at 6:30pm the nurse gave us the all clear. Managed to get home in time to see the family before they left for the 3 hour drive home (even if it was only for 40mins)
Just need to make sure she feeds well now i think and midwife will come tomorrow to weigh again so need more weight added!

HabitualHobbyist · 30/12/2013 22:00

That's great news Frizz. Glad to hear you're home and doing well.

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/12/2013 22:06

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1952352-Jan-2014-And-lo-there-appeared-a-star-Our-babies-start-arriving

Here you go ladies, we can keep it just as a stats thread until we have all delivered if you like x

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/12/2013 22:13

Good luck sultana, try to hold out until you can't speak through them anymore, it is much nicer labouring in your own environment and I have found transferring in slowed down my labours as I was not able to concentrate on my breathing and calm birth bubble with as much ease.

sarah great news about your DH, I must admit I was worrying about you suddenly going into labour and being on your own. Maybe things will happen soon naturally now you can relax a bit more once he is home.

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/12/2013 22:14

Glad to see you are home frizz x

flyawayblue · 30/12/2013 22:27

Congrats to all those with babies

sultana hope you are on your way to the hospital and they let you know how many cm, loads of quick and pain free / manageable pain wishes for this evening.

I'm another due mid January, 15th, so will still be here late Jan early February at this rate Wink

flyawayblue · 30/12/2013 22:31

frizz glad you are home, good luck with the appointment tomorrow and hope things go well. From what I've read jandis is very common though what you went through sounds very stressful.

another food sounds good Smile sorry they had trouble with the stitches but good that you are home again.

sarahleanne · 30/12/2013 22:46

sultana how exciting! I agree with another about staying at home as long as possible :) and thanks another I am hoping things may start naturally once I'm relaxed . Miracles can happen right?

frizz glad you and little one are home.

So I am going to beg the midwife to give me a sweep everytime I see her from now on (twice a week) haha, I doubt she will though. Anyone had good experiences with sweeps and going Into labour soon after?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/12/2013 23:33

Blue so exciting, this could be it?!

Another glad you are home and recuperating. Bloody stitches.

Tooth massive congrats! I saw the pic on Fb and she is solemnly beautiful, I did a proper oooooooh when I saw her!

Sarah yay for DH being home, that's ace news.

Frizz so glad she is off the lamps and home. Hope you start to feel more settled now.

Sultana eeeek, fingers crossed for everything going swimmingly!

After a slow start, had a good day, caught up with my best mate for ages, beat EDF to a pulp into submission, finished sorting the dining room and recycling all my millions of old PhD articles (all now available online, so redundant), and made mackerel and salmon fish cakes for dinner.

Also, spoke to our NCT teacher about acupuncture, as a friend recommended it. She was politely noncommittal, so instead I think I'll book a massage. Oh, and sorted out TENS hire. Now all I have to do is get fitted for a nursing bra, book a blood test appt (they want to repeat bloods) and see mw on Thursday.

Oh. And have this baby. On Friday (according to the timetable, obvs Grin).

Quiet week.

Felix90 · 31/12/2013 00:49

Congrats tooth!!

Glad you are both home frizz Smile

MrsRApilot · 31/12/2013 02:03

Argh I just lost a massive post grrrrr! My word you ladies can talk. Apologies if I miss anyone.

tarka I'll keep my fingers crossed that the induction works and you don't need a caesarean.

another that's great you got your stitches out. I hope you'll soon be on the mend and a bit more comfortable.

sultana hope you're on your way to hospital and will soon have your lovely little baby. I'm very jealous. Good luck!!

humpty yes that sounds like a quiet week indeed haha! Have a stern word with baby And I'm sure they will be very time efficient and arrive quickly and bang on schedule. Grin

sarah that's rubbish about your bp but great that your hubby is coming home.

blue sorry about the bp but hopefully the docs examination will have kick started something.

tooth congratulations about your lovely little girl and glad you're both doing well.

frizz really pleased for you that you are both home now. Hopefully that will be the end of your problems

I am in denial on countdown for Alexander's appearance on Thursday. I am panicking about not being ready even though I know we are. I have made many lists, including a list of my many lists I'm clearly insane. I had a complete freak out earlier on - I think after spending so long preparing it all feels like it's happening all of a sudden. I'm torn between manic excitement about meeting him, and utter terror at the thought of the caesarean, although I know it will be fine and I've had abdominal surgery before.

Hope we hear of more babies being born soon!!

chocoloulou34 · 31/12/2013 05:11

If it makes you feel better MrsRA I go in to be induced and I'm rly rly not ready lol. Am a very disorganised person who does everything at the last minute or sometimes not at all!! So much still do do and baby stuff everywhere but with 2 kids at home and also ds-s been here for hols too its been pretty hard to get stuff done from day to day with me being in and out of hospital and all. Watch out on thurs night for the panicked msg from me on here lol. I really hope all goes well for you thurs. I just think its more daunting when u have a date to go in.

sultana hope to be hearing good news from u v soon. A new years eve baby I bet :)

As usual I'm having my crappy nights sleep waking up drenched in sweat. Not being able to get comfy. Hips killing then baby waking to do a little jig. Fun times.

TobyLerone · 31/12/2013 05:45

Morning, loulou. Stupid being awake :(

Thinking of you, sultana & tarka.

Loving the List Of Lists, MrsRA. That's the sort of thing I do :o

OP posts:
Percypiglet · 31/12/2013 08:10

I was also awake at stupid hours and cant seem to sleep well anymore, my hip/thigh on left side goes numb and hurts, think the baby must be sat on some nerve....This also occurred when I hurt my coccyx several years ago... Boo, thought one of the perks of being on mat leave was to have some lie ins!

Hope Sultana and Tarka have some good news soon, exciting!

MrsVDB · 31/12/2013 08:25

Congratulations tooth well done! Another very dilated one! 8cm! How are you all doing it??

Good luck sultana I had a feeling satirday night you would be soon but too lazy to post at the moment. Feeling pretty drained with all the work on the house still to do, hospital bag still to pack, clothes to wash/ sort (all still in bags as nowhere to put them until carpet is laid on 9th and I can put furniture up). Need to fit more skirting today but everytime I bend over I get bh and just feel exhausted. percy I'm with you that this isn't what I had planned for maternity leave :(

Good luck also tarka :)

fryingpantoface · 31/12/2013 08:25

Morning! Dh came home from work last night with two books for me to read today, he's told me just to relax.

we had a lovely evening and he's brought me apple juice, gaviscon, and the books up to bed and told me to stay here. He's so lovely!

I've had major leakage all night, I'm guessing just preggo juice, but it kept waking me up. Nothing came onto the sheets (sleep naked) but definitely felt wet and was wet when i checked. I'll mention it to the midwife on Friday when i beg for a sweep.

I'm holding onto her saying she didn't think she'd see me for this appointment, that the baby would be here

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 31/12/2013 08:46

Morning all.

MrsR massive hugs! I am with you on the apprehensive feelings. I know I've prepared (as much as you can), but I want another month (preferably able to sleep properly) just to wrap my head around it. I've focused on the practicalities, not really thought about the mental adjustments!

choco do you go in soon? I hope so, you've suffered enough, you poor love.

sultana thinking of you.

frying bless your DH that's so lovely!

Another crappy night's sleep here too. Can't drift off, and when I do, I wake up to turn over. Bah. Nap on the sofa for me later.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 31/12/2013 09:15

Congrats tooth! Another lovely little girl. And good luck Sultana, hope its all happening for you.

MrsVDB that does NOT sound like a relaxing maternity leave at all! What's your due date? Will you manage to get any quiet days before the arrival, do you think?

Aww Frying your DH is lovely. Mine keeps telling me to stop moaning - somebody's going to be getting a kick in the bits soon, i can feel it. And i'll give you a clue, DH - it's you.

Bad nights sleep here too. DD was up at 4am with bad dreams. I was up and down with congestion, thirst, pee breaks and general uncomfortable-ness all night, and had to get to my 37-week check for 9am with DD in tow. All well, bump is descending but not engaged, no dilation or any other sign of much happening. Argh - i think i was hoping she would say, 'Oh lets just pop upstairs and whip her out now!'

MrsVDB · 31/12/2013 09:19

purple due on 22nd so hoping I get some rest before but it may be at the cost of not having the house finished which I'm sort of getting used to the idea of. As long as we gave skirting and flooring (main outstanding big jobs) done then j may relax. Just really not how I pictured it. I had so many things I planned to do while pregnant (aqua natal, weekly bump pics, write in my baby book etc) which I've done none of and now with only 3 weeks left I'm starting to feel a bit sad about it all

fryingpantoface · 31/12/2013 09:35

Oh mrs it's rubbish when your plans don't come together.

i planned on spending lots of quality time with ds, relaxing, taking long walks etc. Ds is two. He doesn't care. Relaxing, sure when i fan get a moment, and I've not gone on a long walk yet! There's a big country park not too far from here, but dh doesn't want me going because I'm heavily pregnant. Which is why i want to go. I also know that if i just went today he'd be really mad at me.

I've not met anyone who has had the mat leave they planned. So you aren't alone!

enormouse · 31/12/2013 09:57

sultana fx for you
Also with tarka

Congratulations tooth and your DP. Lovely name too. Smile

purple I want to thump my dp too. I'm assuming it's the hormones because I don't ordinarily want to kill him this much. Today's thing is not putting a bin liner in the kitchen bin which I've had to deal with.

humpty I'm joining your insomnia brigade too. I can't turn in bed because of my hips.

frizz great to hear you and baby are home.

I've finished packing my hospital bags, and am cracking on with my plan to clean the house. Just pesky essays to take care of and that's it. I'm starting to get pretty fed up of being virtually immobile and uncomfortable. But I went to the gps yesterday and he says I have a fairly good range of movement despite the sciatica. Am on painkillers now.

Bluecarrot · 31/12/2013 11:27

Those with v sore hips- is your top half v propped up on pillows? I just noticed last night when I propped myself up to read that it created a definite pressure point. Took away 2 pillows and it vanished. ( I get sore hips after hours of lying in same position but I assume that's normal even for non-pregnant folk)

Quite a mixed bag of DPs we have! Mine is getting better in the last few days and was a star yesterday when I was upset at the hospital. Normally I'm the more dominant one ( we are both quiet) and lead conversations etc but when I got teary at mention of c-sec next Tuesday he asked some great questions while managing to soothe me with affection. Took my brain a minute to compute!

Though he didn't put main bin out on Sunday and se have fortnightly collections. Of all the times to forget... Argh! And lots of niggly things ( bin liner thing happens with us a lot!)

frying your DP just sounds concerned re country park. I'm resorting to treadmill!

chocoloulou34 · 31/12/2013 11:42

humpty I go in to be induced on friday. Thats the plan anyway!!

After a week of laying about on sofa not doing a lot I'm gonna be brave today and take the kids to the cinema to see frozen. Meeting a friend there hopefully. They've all been so good last few days as ive not been able to do an awful lot with them other than take them to my parents and weather is crap too. They deserve a treat :)

fryingpantoface · 31/12/2013 11:51

I've cleaned the whole house this morning. Did the bathroom floors on my hands and knees, did loads of laundry, and now I'm sitting watching Tangled and eating crunch creams. I've no idea when ds will be back, i kinda miss him!

MrsRApilot · 31/12/2013 11:53

choco gosh I can't imagine being in and out of hospital and still having the kids to deal with. I've had 2x ds-s here for Christmas as well as dd and it's been hectic enough trying to get the basics done and I'm at home all the time. Hats off to you. I will watch out for your panicked post on Thursday night (hopefully with a squishy baby in my arms) hehe

Yep Toby my obsessive list making is the only thing keeping me sane. Of course I would get a lot more done if I stopped making lists of what I have to do and actually started doing them but obviously that is totally irrelevant

mrsv you have my deepest admiration at being able to do any sort of DIY. You must be knackered!

humpty aw hope you get a good nap this afternoon. I'm right with you on the crappy sleep, and some time to catch up on it would definitely be nice before baby comes along.

enormouse that's crap about the essays. Is there no way you can defer to the Summer? My uni is letting me do them in August instead of now which is a good thing as I am currently unable to write an intelligent sentence

Haha blue it made me giggle about the bin not being out out as that is a frequent discussion screaming match in our house. I am Angry on your behalf.

Well I have loads to do today and will never get it all done so I am procrastinating by watching a movie so I will be working hard all day. Wonder if we'll have any more babies today?
