I'm just trying to get him out at this point. We had sex last night, i'm cleaning today, i'm going to bounce on my ball.

Or, I could do the laundry and just relax. Maybe bounce on the ball while playing xBox... i'm sure that will work just as well!

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 12:33

frying how about a frustrating phone call to the tax office about a self assessment tax return form? That seems to have given me the most painful contraction so far! Wink

HabitualHobbyist · 30/12/2013 13:03

Hi all

Making a reappearance after several months. Congratulations to all those whose DCs have arrived safely already, and good luck to those currently in labour!

I've dipped in and out of the threads to read, but haven't been able to keep up with the pace until this weekend, now I'm on mat leave and Christmas is out of the way.

I'm 38 weeks today and wishing this baby out! (Well, from Thursday onwards). Have been well on the whole (bar the usual hip, pelvis and back aches and pains) until the last couple of weeks, then boom - carpal tunnel syndrome, mass water retention, stabby pelvis pains and a lovely Christmas cold to boot.

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 13:05

Omfg! These contractions have suddenly ramped up and hurt like a mo fo!!! Unless they ease off again, this is it! Ekkkk! Scared, nervous, excited, feel nauseous, dodgy stomach all at once! I can do this!!!

TobyLerone · 30/12/2013 13:13

Envy sultana

OP posts:
fryingpantoface · 30/12/2013 13:15

So jealous sultana!

Mythreeknights · 30/12/2013 13:27

Go for it sultana, just try to relax as much as poss and don't get too excited in order to keep calm and grounded and 'welcome' (ha ha) each contraction like an old friend. And eat some jelly babies to keep your strength up!! Can you manage a live birth thread??

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/12/2013 13:28

sultana ooooooh good luck!!!

Who asked about tooth? Whoever it was, are you on the Facebook group for this thread...

In bed today, chest infection seems to have regressed to a cold. On phone to fecking EDF trying to resolve our contract from the old flat. Only six weeks to date and counting...

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 30/12/2013 14:12

Wooooh, good luck Sultana!!

chocoloulou34 · 30/12/2013 14:15

Yey sultana good luck!! Live birth thread would be so funny. We want all the info! !

It was me asking about tooth and shes not been on fb group either. Its v quiet on there.

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 14:18

They are every 5 mins lasting a minute. Having to breathe through them! I am feeling surprisingly calm currently which has shocked me! Think using my contraction timer app and then breathing thru the contractions is giving me something to focus on..... Called labour ward and because I wasn't aware of movements in the last few hours she ordered me into a bath for an hour to concentrate on movements. Bubs is happily wriggling now. I have to call her back at 2.30pm to update her...

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 14:19

Will do my best with the live thread....trying not to drop the phone in the bath currently!

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 14:22

The bath is definitely helping the contractions. Keep everything crossed ladies I can have a water birth!!! Grin

BandontheFun · 30/12/2013 14:23

Good Luck Saltana, hopefully this is it....You can do it!! Kinda wish I had a reason to call the tax office now.

Maybe ur call to EDF will start you on your way Humpty.

I have now built the pram, all I have to do now is wash the crib sheets and I am am good to go! You hear that baby...come whenever you like. Preferably this week please...If only it was that easy! :)

TarkaTheOtter · 30/12/2013 14:35

Good luck sultana.

My induction is going slower than hoped. I have the pessary in and not much happening. She didn't check how dilated I was as cervix too far back to skip pessary stage. Boooo. Now starting to panic it'll end in a section and how I'll cope with a toddler and not being able to drive.

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 14:43

Deep breaths Tarka! How long have they given you with the first pessary? Have they said they will try a second if you aren't making progress?

Well I have to call labour ward back if my waters go, if I cant cope with the pain or when the contractions get to 3 mins apart, lasting a minute each in length.....

So am back on the sofa for now. Poor DH is trying to fill out his self assessment tax return form in so is looking stressed and confused!

fryingpantoface · 30/12/2013 14:55

Tarka - same questions sultana asked, but also wanted to show support

sultana - sounds promising! How far along are you? You'll be meeting the baby soon! Eek!

of course i hate you a little bit, getting to meet the baby etc. Hate is too strong a word, but hopefully you get what i mean!

sarahleanne · 30/12/2013 15:09

Good luck sultana and tanka!!
How many weeks are you both?

Been sat in hospital since 11am again with high bp! So annoying. Mooooaaaan.

sarahleanne · 30/12/2013 15:09

Tarka not tanka!

fryingpantoface · 30/12/2013 15:16

Hate was definitely too strong a word

i didn't mean hate! Sorry if I've offended anyone

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 15:17

frying I do feel bad after what you have been going thru, so completely understand the "hate" feelings. Sorry Hun! I am 40+3 today.....

sarah grrrr your Bp! How annoying!!!

fryingpantoface · 30/12/2013 16:11

Oh good! I was worried I'd offend people.

i was talking to someone at Church who had three weeks of stop/start labour before her baby was born. Apparently it was a quick labour!

i have loads of water like discharge. I'm not going to the hospital. They'll just ask if I've peed myself.

my belly is really hard and i know my body is gearing up. It's just a case of waiting it out. Dh now thinks it'll be new years day

TobyLerone · 30/12/2013 16:16

I basically hate all of you who go into labour before me. Extra hating for if you're due after me (5th Jan) :o

Tomorrow was actually my original due date, but I'm glad they moved it back if it means I get more of a chance to go into labour by myself.

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 16:21

When are u due frying? It must be really frustrating. I don't think things are gonna stop for me now, but you never know! Think whatever happens I wont be getting much, if any sleep tonight.... I keep getting teased as now and again the gap will go down to four mins and the next time it will go back to five or even six! Have a feeling getting down to every three mins may take a while....

Sultanajo · 30/12/2013 16:24

Lol Toby! I reckon you will start naturally by your due date! Just have a feeling.....
