Happy Christmas everyone!!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
topmammy · 30/12/2013 09:26

Im sat in the doctors waiting room...... this waiting just makes me anxious!

I did have a weird dream last night, but not about baby. I was at a job interview for a teaching job and it involved spending 2 days being observed painting a fence. If only job interviews were that simple! My dreams do seem to be more colourful and 'real' looking at the mo too.

Hope its my turn soon, feel like puking Sad

DearDinah · 30/12/2013 09:28

topmammy good luck! Let us know how it goes x

Hubbythecatandme · 30/12/2013 09:29

Welcome James!!!!!
About dreams: I dreamt I was giving birth to a duck hahaha don't ask!! Just before BFP I had some pretty weird dreams like they seemed very real. Lasted about a week... dreamt I was having a chat with Miranda Hart and she was having a baby, all sorts of random dreams!!
I am worried about going to doc for some reason.... not sure I want the whole appointments, midwife etc to get started! I like it being me, hubby and our baby!
Dinah, I test every day with the eBay tests bought in bulk lol, really must stop this "hihi!-!
Makes me feel close to you too to see our EDD!!! Thanks for doing this newlywed. Off to Scotland today.and think there will be no internet so catch up soon xx

BexBoo12 · 30/12/2013 09:29

Welcome Christina!! Same EDD as me!!! Woop another due date buddy. How are you feeling??

Mammy let us know how you get on - tell me what I've got to expect - I just made an app for Thursday when I get home from Scotland x

Hubbythecatandme · 30/12/2013 09:30

Lol to puking comment top mammy

isitme1 · 30/12/2013 09:31

Good luck top mammy
I'm going tomorrow with do. All my care will be at the hospital again to keep an eye on things

X

topmammy · 30/12/2013 09:57

Well that was definitely a case of what was I worrying about?! Doc said congratulations, gave me a brief run through of appts/scans I wil have, told me I need to report any bleeding, asked if I was taking folic acid, and told me to try not to worry about anything as pregnancy is a normal physiological process. He then gave me the number for the midwives as I need to ring them to make the booking appt. So I suppose I could have just bypassed the doc all together lol. He was nice though.

Hubby, are you off to bex's wedding in Scotland!? lol

EnglishGirlAbroad · 30/12/2013 10:43

Welcome James! And congratulations!
I'm having a mare, I've had some spotting this morning.
Because I don't live in uk any more, haven't registered with a doctor or got health insurance yet here I can't even call someone to go see a doctor until 2nd. Absolutely bricking it. It's times like this that make really appreciate the health care system in the uk.

topmammy · 30/12/2013 10:50

Welcome James too!

English Try not to panic too much, I know it must be so scary though. My mum has told me (midwife) that some women have spotting throughout their pregnancy and have perfectly healthy babies.

Hubbythecatandme · 30/12/2013 11:18

English, unless you have had really massive pain and LOADS of bleeding I wouldn't worry. I know it's easy to say but if you had a MC you would know it and it wouldn't be "spotting" but more like you've had your period or something. (From what I have read anyway).
Lol, yes going to to Bex wedding, she just doesn't know yet hahaah!
Hubby and I have booked a lil cottage by the see for 4 days to escape the visit of the evil sister in law!
Good about doc topmammy, I will be scared about all appointements etc, will be one of these people who will say "please DO NOT make me visit the maternity beforehand, this will stress the baby too much!!!" lol :)
Good on feeling slightly puky. Bumpology says risk of miscarriage up to 8 weeks is 10% and 4% if you have morning sickness apparently!!!

isitme1 · 30/12/2013 11:45

English I have a little story for you (and everyone else)
my mum had a massive bleed at 6 weeks (she was stood up and it was coming down her legs and it got on to the carpet)she immediately assumed the worst. Due to severity of the bleed we had to ring ambulance who took her to local hospital and they gave her lots of morphine and said you've had a miscarriage.

They were getting her ready for d+c (surgery) for a clean out and needed consent which she refused. She signed herself out and went to the specialist hospital the next day where they scanned her and the baby was alive!!!! That baby is now a year old nice and healthy
she bled a few times pretty heavy but don't assume the worst

Thank you for all making me feel so welcome! Bex- so far I've had veins appear in my breasts running to my nipples, a pulling feeling in my lower abdomen and right side of my belly button.. 8 days ago I had a terrible cold and was sick in two days (I've not had a cold in 6 years so this was rare for me).. As I had got my hopes up so much last month and then got so upset when my period came I said I would be very pessimistic from now on.. I kind of 'knew' deep down though :o) I'm fully recovered now, just keep getting the pulling/ cramping feeling and if I stretch out it feels like I'm pulling a muscle in my tummy.

What have you felt/ symptoms etc so far?

It's all so exciting :o)

English- my mum went through seven miscarriages, an ectopic that nearly killed her and had three healthy children.. She said that if you were having a cm you would know about it and some people just spot a little or the whole way through and the baby is perfectly fine so try not to panic (easier said than done in sure), fingers crossed for you xx

Newlywed2013 · 30/12/2013 12:21

Welcome Christina!

OMG how expensive are baby books!! I want one but not wanting to spend that sort of money!!

Ive had no baby dreams yet :( but still not really had any symtoms!! finally fell asleep around 3am today and didnt wake up til 11:30 and feel like i could just go back to sleep!!! I thinking of when i should go to the drs!? I feel that it is a bit too early and tempting fete!! I also want hubby to be there so it would have to be a thursday!

Really pissed off feel misled by ebay!! bought tests friday morning, apparently tests posted daily! only just had a message saying that they have been posted today!! not impressed!! and really dont want to go to the shops and buy one!! i get too embarassed and have never gone through with it lol! I am starting to feel as if I am not pregnant as i need to see it again on a test, especially now that i am late and hoping that it will be darker and clearer this time!

No prob with doing the stats! its something for me to do at night when i cannot sleep! I think it will be interesting to see if and how much these EDDs change when we have scans etc!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 30/12/2013 12:36

Thanks ladies,
Trying not to assume the worst. Had a little cry and am feeling better now. Had nothing more has happened, so hoping for the best.

Newlywed2013 · 30/12/2013 13:07

try not to get stressed it wont do you any harm! Thanks

topmammy · 30/12/2013 13:08

Stats lady newlywed can I change my EDD to 3rd Sept please? Smile as my cycle is quite long so due date is a bit further than end of August. But of course this could all change!

Bless you English you need a hug and a good old cup o tea Brew Try to distract yourself with something else if you can.

James I've also had cramping sensations, as well as sore boobs. I was feeling so ill too towards the end of the week that I conceived, had a bit of a chest infection and terrible nausea.. now I wonder if any of that was to do with baby!

My DH is cooking me a nice big slab of ribeye steak for lunch, yum yum, need to keep our iron levels up ladies! Grin

Ooo im not much help on that as ive never ate it due to religious beliefs
sorry x

topmammy · 30/12/2013 14:38

I must say my steak was damn tasty! Also had a baby spinach leaf salad with it for the high folic acid content. Plus chips, just cos I like chips Blush

Feel like snoozing now but got plenty of work to be doing Xmas Sad

That stats list sure looks busy!! Grin

topmammy · 30/12/2013 14:45

newly the parma ham would probably be fine but I would err on the side of caution and eat it cooked like on pizza or in pasta.

Newlywed2013 · 30/12/2013 14:53

hmmm.... its annoying there is conflicting advice!! but it tastes so much better when it is straight out the packet and a whole packet at a time!!
Each week with the food shop a packet is brought for me to munch on while putting shopping away lol.... This could cause problems!!

Do you think you could get away with a medium or a medium well steak?
