My verrrrrry faint line earlier gives me an edd of 27 august so I'm going to straddle the two threads providing I get a strong bfp tomorrow (which I should do!!)

Happy Christmas everyone!!!

Scans for Bex

topmammy · 07/01/2014 20:51

Mat pay depends on what your contract says. I will only get standard state mat pay. 90% for 6 weeks then it decreases, until it stops completely at around 39 weeks I think. I worked it out and I will only get around 6 or 7 grand for the year, and thats before tax. Not much but better than nothing.

BexBoo12 · 07/01/2014 20:54

Thanks girls will look at that link in a min Choccy xx

Can I quickly ask, is gentle exercise bike safe? At the gym...x

TwosaCrowd · 07/01/2014 21:04

My GP told me (she's 30 weeks pg herself) all exercise is fine, bar weights. I'm still allowed to horse ride.

Newlywed2013 · 07/01/2014 21:49

Right, I am back and am going to get a drink and sit down and catch up and update all the stats!! :)

BexBoo12 · 07/01/2014 22:06

Ok, back from the gym - phew. Back has been sore today, so didn't do much today in fear of hurting my back. Is a sore back a pg symptom? I'm thinking not at this stage so wondering if I've injured myself Blush

Topmammy, how do you mean it depends on contract? I'm sorry to sound dumb Sad

Thanks for the link Choccy. I'm so desperate for a scan, depending on what midwife tells me tomorrow when I phone up and pester, I may pay for a private one. Have no idea of how to go about it mind...

Ooh I've just noticed I'm not on the list. Edd is sept 3rd

topmammy · 07/01/2014 22:22

Bex I just mean that your contract might be different in that you might get more than the statutory maternity pay. If your contract doesn't mention maternity leave at all, like mine doesn't, then it'll just be statutory mat pay. There is an online maternity pay calculator you can use to work out what you should get, I just googled it.

Just had a bit of an upset stomach :( DH is panicking that it's a miscarriage. Tried to explain that it's definitely hurting high up around the stomach area not low down and there is no blood but he was scared bless him. It was a bit unnerving though!

Newlywed2013 · 07/01/2014 22:23

DearDinah · 07/01/2014 22:25

bex google 4d scans & your area, we have one near us called life through a lens & they do 8wk scans for £55

BexBoo12 · 07/01/2014 22:37

Dinah thanks very much for that - just found 'take a peek' in St. Helens that do early scans (as early as 7 weeks) for £40. Bargain. If I get no joy tomorrow, that's what I will be booking!!!

BexBoo12 · 07/01/2014 22:37

Thanks topmammy if will google it now x

bugoven · 07/01/2014 22:49

Hi all and thanks newly for keeping up with the stats..

I did another CBD today and got pregnant 3+. I am so excited and relieved (even though I know they're not really a true indicator of very much at all).

For all you ladies with horrible worry I am sending you all the best wishes in the world for some good news. Take care Xx

Incacola · 07/01/2014 22:51

Hi ladies! I'm joining you too of that's ok? Got our bfp yesterday after ttc dc2 for several months. We'll be due 15th sept. Dd1 is coming up 14 months old. I am feeling a little uncertain as first time round my boobs we're soooo sore which I found pretty reassuring. This time I feel pretty normal, which is great in many ways but I'd like the reassurance of some symptoms somehow.

Congratulations to everyone! Grin

DearDinah · 07/01/2014 22:56

Tentatively discussed some possible names with DH & apparently Leonidas is his first choice boy or girl... Sticking a pin in that for now...Hmm

DearDinah · 07/01/2014 22:57

Welcome incacola & congratulations!

Newlywed2013 · 07/01/2014 23:26

Welcome Incacola!! Congrats!!

Names!! OH just lauged in my face... he was set on calling a girl Anna after his mum but we think it could cause tension within his family and that would be unfair on the child so that as well as my mums name will be middle name! he laughed at two suggesetions which were Aurora and Beatrice..... hmmmmm we have not even got onto the subject of boys names? All we know is if its a boy it must follow a family tradition where hte first male is known by their middle name.... its a tradition that only husband can pass on!! arghhhhh
Is it bad i have my heart set on a girl first especially as my big brother was so mean to me at times growing up! i think a sister would be more caring to be the older one!

Justpenny · 07/01/2014 23:37

Bexboo...will you let me know about that early scan place if you ring them? Im not far from St Helens, have found a few in Liverpool but they start from 8 weeks and £65. I know i'll end up getting more than one so the cheaper the better!!! :) xx

Newlywed2013 · 08/01/2014 00:22

Is anyone else going for an early scan! Hubby has given me the choice of an early one or a 4D one later on and i think i would rather that one, not allowed both! Spoil Sport lol

ThisIsMeNow · 08/01/2014 00:26

I'd love one but can't find a reasonably priced one round here so I'll have to wait

Only 8 more weeks....ShockShock

MrsGiraffe12 · 08/01/2014 05:47

Hi ladies can I join you :-)

I have a DC (5) and am expecting my 2nd, due 6th September by my dates. Tentatively excited as I had a miscarriage last May at 9 weeks xx

bugoven · 08/01/2014 06:16

Another due date buddy, welcome giraffe and congratulations Grin

whiteblossom · 08/01/2014 07:40

Is anyone dh acting weird?

My dh is quite detached about this baby/pregnancy. He has dismissed any concerns I have as "you always need something to worry about" Confused
I told dh about today scan last night and he didn't say anything at all. I went very quiet and he asked me if something was wrong so I said No, I want to see just how far he is prepared to take this attitude. So dh goes off to work this morning, doesn't wish me luck or say Ill ring you later, which sometimes he does is we have something going on. Just nothing.

Im very happy about this baby- which was planned (fell first month) and Im going to bloody enjoy it and stuff him. At the moment he is ruining it for me.

Ive tried talking to him and all I get is "Im tired/stressed/back hurts" he says he is excited but everything screams he's not.

So I feel rather alone, Its clear I cant talk about any worries I have and I feel that any talk on the subject of this baby is a bit taboo. Sad
