Topmammy I ws nervous about telling dad as he came upto hdu when I haf ds1 and ds2.

I was more worried about telling my brothers though as they are very protective. The eldest said I was 'a stupid idiot' and the one I worried about the most said 'take a breather lol'
twink that would really piss me off!!

With regards to bleeds I was told to get them checked out just to be on safe side. Spotting is different I suppose but would still go in if it was me. We have an epu that acts likr a+e for pregnant women here so can walk in as we please kinda thing.

One funny symptom I have is a tingly needing to wee feeling in the downstairs dept. Anyone else? Last night I kept getting up to go to the toilet!

I'm horsey and am continuing to ride through this pregnancy, I did with my last and had no problems.

twinkbat · 05/01/2014 16:31

twosacrowd yup, constant feeling like I need to pee, and just generally swollen down there ifywim. Speaking of.. just typing this makes me feel like I need to pee.

TwosaCrowd · 05/01/2014 16:37

Oooh someone else! I wonder what it is that causes it? I was up twice in the night to wee, and kept having to sit on the toilet this morning! I was fine riding today, but as soon as I got home it started up again. It's not like the bunch of cells is big enough to press on the bladder yet!

Tutti · 05/01/2014 16:47

I have cramps and bachache too..but had it for the whole time so far...

I hope everything is ok.. keep nipping to the loo and doing a bit of knicker checking Blush

marie1w · 05/01/2014 17:10

Hi all I have a EDD of 4/9. I am also suffering with cramps and needing to pee ALOT! Apparently it's all due to a surge in hormones moving the bladder to make room, as well as the uterus growing already! Amazing to think this all happens so soon. I'm also checking ALOT but told it's all normal.

broodylicious · 05/01/2014 17:43

Twosacrowd - i rode until I was six months with dc1, competed til about four months (dressage so not as risky as jumping). My thoughts were that if my Body was used to it, it'd be ok. Kept carrying haylege bales around, which was perhaps a bit daft but didn't want anyone to know til three months (because of what people on the yard would say - to my face and then of course differently behind my back Wink) but all was ok so I'd do the same again. What breed do you have, what do you do? Xx

HippyJess · 05/01/2014 17:47

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd pop in here as I've just had my BFP today and my EDD is September 17th :)

So yeah... Hi!

broodylicious · 05/01/2014 17:51

Lol waffles - I had a mcdonalds breakfast this morning after a bowl of Special K and before a roast chicken dinner, followed by leftover Christmas pud!! I do need to watch my weight and was very good with dc1 (morning sickness for four/five months helped Wink) and intend to eat healthily the majority of time again.

broodylicious · 05/01/2014 17:53

twinkbat much sympathy and hugs coming your way. I would also be beyond furious in your situation. What an absolute cheek!!!!

broodylicious · 05/01/2014 17:58

whiteblossom - we used the Caboo/Close sling in the early days and loved it, so soft and stretchy but still supportive. www.closeparent.com/FeaturedProducts/tabid/240/CategoryID/57/Level/a/ProductID/5795/language/en-GB/Default.aspx
We then moved on to the Bjorn Carrier when she was about six months. Another great buy. I think we got the Miracle but could be wrong - it's the one with Extra back support due to my previous issues with sciatica and general aches and pains.

TwosaCrowd · 05/01/2014 18:03

Hi broody I sold my horse (welsh D x TB) after my last pg as I got bad PND and couldn't keep it up. I have a friend who deals in hunter hire/sale with 53 horses on his yard so I can ride his horses anytime I want instead - I've taken on board a 17.3hh Zangersheide gelding (C). I used to do show jumping. I was just getting back riding after last pg problems when I got the BFP, plan was to take C on fun rides, get going jumping again.

The jumping may have to wait, but I'm continuing with the plan apart from that - today a horse was fly bucking and carrying on in the road, and C just stood there very calmly and looked at the silly thing with an air of "oh how droll!". Then a field of young bullocks charged towards us, and he wasn't bothered at all, so I trust him to look after me.

Hi HippyJess :)

CumbrianExile · 05/01/2014 18:06

Hi

Can I jump on board?

Got my BFP on 31st Dec (but been away). EDD 4th Sep. First time for me and pretty nervous.

I also got a less than enthusiastic response on telling my parents, although as I was leaving yesterday they seemed to have come round Smile

Purple37 · 05/01/2014 18:13

Hi hippyjess we are due on the same day!!

broodylicious · 05/01/2014 18:19

Oh bless him, twosacrowd! You got a good one there! I had a tb ex racer who was equally calm - could've done anything with him, he just loved being around kind people. I put him out on loan when I hit six months last time around but sadly he passed away eight months later. Totally devastated. I've ridden twice since - first on a hack not far from us and just got off and sobbed, then second at a polo lesson (it was a groupon deal mil got me last Xmas) but I can't say I enjoyed that either. So upsetting. I'll get another but not yet.

I also suffered with PND first time around. Luckily not severe but enough. Horrid. I know I will struggle this time too but I have to keep positive and think I'm (hopefully) going to have bred not only siblings but best friends (I'm v close to my sister so I'd love dc to have the same bond with each other). Anyway, dc2 could well be a fantastic sleeper and we won't have half the issues we've had with dc1!! Wink

marie1w · 05/01/2014 18:24

Hi CumbrianExile, we have the same EFF. My first time too, still doesn't feel real...except for the symptoms!

marie1w · 05/01/2014 18:25

EDD - predictive type!

CumbrianExile · 05/01/2014 18:28

Ha Marie, yes the symptoms are great! Back at work tomorrow and not sure how I am going to hide the nausea, and the sudden desire for ginger snaps!

marie1w · 05/01/2014 18:32

Same here, although not feeling too ill yet I am needing the loo every half hr! Can't just nip out on a classroom ful of 6 yr olds though...

topmammy · 05/01/2014 18:36

Welcome to any new ladies - I think there is about 3 new since I last checked! Congrats! Grin

I'm not much enjoying this constant underlying feeling of nausea!

Thanks for baby sling recommendations, there are sooo many options out there. Mind boggling.

TwosaCrowd · 05/01/2014 18:55

Anyone else EDD 11/09/2014? DS1 was due 19/10/2011 and arrived 24/09/2011! Hoping it'll be a September baby so isn't one of the youngest at school...

HippyJess · 05/01/2014 19:59

Ooh, exciting Purple :)

noitsachicken · 05/01/2014 20:06

Evening all,
I seem to be having most symptoms of an evening. Nausea and really cold! Shivering even under a blanket! Any one else feeling very cold?

BexBoo12 · 05/01/2014 20:12

Hi everybody. Feeling much better today, whoever it was that said it was jealousy that made DH's brother and wife react like that- I actually think you're right sadly.

Anyway, straight after they changed the subject, my SIL then turned to me and said this will kill our other SIL. To which I looked puzzled, and ahe told me she had recently gone through early menopause and cannot have children. Does anyone else think that this was a bit if an insensitive way of telling me? I get that I need to know so I can sit down and chat with her about it rather than me be insensitive and do something like text her. But there I am, all excited and proud as punch about being pregnant for the first time, and in the same breath she told me about how hard this is going to be for our other SIL. Am I overreacting girls? Am I just letting hormones get to me?

Anyway, has anyone else been tempted with January sales?? There's so many good deals out there at the minute, DH is sat next to me as we speak on mamas and papas website and mother care cooing over everything. I feel like I have to reign him in!! It's too soon...isn't it?!!!

topmammy · 05/01/2014 20:29

It was me who wondered about the jealousy. That's a shame they feel like that but you have got far more important things to think about than their feelings about a perfectly normal stage in your life! That is sad about your SIL but nothing to do with you so hopefully they will find the strength to be pleased for you. I agree though your other SIL did a mean thing telling you like that, I think it was stealing your thunder a bit. Could have waited until your next meeting!

I am tempted by the sales, especially on those breast pump scary lookin things as they are pretty expensive full price! Me and DH had a look round Babies R Us - I found it a bit overwhelming tbh! Going to check out Mamas and Papas too soon. Not going to buy stuff though till baby's room is more empty, which I imagine won't be for a good 2 or 3 months. So full of musical instruments and book shelves and guitar amps at the mo. Argh so much to do lol.
