I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment with dr!! terrified! but it is next thursday so that hubby can come with me :) terrified!!! Had a babybook arrive today and it still doesnt feel real!!
Except for half hour of nausea the other day and feeling a bit rough yesterday I have not had any symptoms except boobs are massive and its noticeable!!

hubby reckons i will show very early as i am a very tiny size 6 and i have always been tiny and my tummy is starting to look rounder!! I cant wait to get a bump eeeeekkkkkk!! (not too early as i would struggle hiding it!!)

nataaaaliee · 03/01/2014 14:21

hi newly :) meant to say my edd is 6th September Grin

Belinky · 03/01/2014 15:07

Hey Newly, my first docs app is the same day, Thursday! Good luck Smile
The only symptoms I've had so far is my stomach muscles aching, I guess that's stretching?!
I went on the next sale online about a week before I got my bfp and bought loads of work clothes in a size 6...oh well!

broodylicious · 03/01/2014 15:10

Hi newly. Our edd is sept 12. We will always be team yellow as dh stated last night he loved the surprise with our dd and didn't want to know this one either. At the birth, rather than the delivery team telling us what sex baby we had, we asked that dh tell me and he said he loved that bit.... Yeah, I did too, meant labour was done WinkConfused

broodylicious · 03/01/2014 15:19

Dinah - I would tell your boss, particularly because of the heavy lifting involved and the exhibition (I do event planning as part of my job and there's no chance on earth I'd be able to stand up for four days when preggers - eek those feet and back!!)

We won't be telling anyone until after the scan, the same as with dd. I did tell one very trustworthy colleague just in case I collapsed or was asked to lift/carry something and he could help me out but I just couldn't face the heartache of having to tell ppl if anything went wrong or if there's an issue at the scan. Seen it too many times sadly. It's a killer to keep it quiet but for us, it's for the best thing to do. Each to their own though and everyone's circumstances are different Smile

Justpenny · 03/01/2014 15:20

Im not sure about my EDD, one calculator says 24th August, going off my last period bein 17th November...but I think that was just a break through bleed tbh from coming off the pill? According to CB digital im 2-3 weeks, will give u a proper date after my datin scan! eeek! Ive been an emotional wreck this morning, actually nearly killed my boyfriend for hanging the washing out wrong, and I mean full on tears, snot and screaming! Hope it's not gonna be like this for the next 9 months :( my boobs are HUGE too...and my tummy feels real tender, have still had no nausea yet tho, touch wood! Although my head has been banging since yesterday and my nose is so so blocked, I must have had about 4 hrs unbroken sleep cos I kept sneezing and coughing all night. What I would give for a lemsip right now!! xx

waffles1990 · 03/01/2014 15:27

Newlywed you missed me Xmas Sad

Edd 6th Sept :)

whiteblossom · 03/01/2014 15:48

Hi EDD is 8th sept.

I hit the JL sale today with ds and while he was looking at lego, I was watching/earwigging a couple have a demo of a travel system I had seen about. Ive spent all afternoon on the internet looking at stuff. First time around I didn't have a clue and there is so much to choose from so im making a mental list for now. However at the rate im going im going to need maternity jeans, mine have been undone all afternoon!!

Im going to ring gp soon and make apt, for some reason I just cant do it yet, they know but only cos I had the infection but they didn't mention anything to me Confused

Anyone feeling sick yet?

topmammy · 03/01/2014 16:13

Thanks for doing the stats Newly, you've done a great job and I'd be far too lazy to do them lol.

Whiteblossom, I've been feeling sick pretty much all day on and off. What ever happened to morning sickness?! Dreading doing a full day teaching feeling sick Sad

Its not prob ladies, i suffer from imsomnia and I have a lil file saved so its quite easy to update!

belinky how are you feeling about your appointment!! Im terrified! Dont know why!! I could have had it much sooner but was worried i was imagining things!!

Hubbythecatandme · 03/01/2014 16:51

Drove back from Scotland this morning and had to stop in the middle of nowhere after an hour as I was having what felt like horrendous travel motion sickness... Pulled out in front of a house in a tiny village, sitting in driver sitting groaning and telling hubby "If I move my head it makes it worse and will you just stop talking to me because all I can smell is what you've eaten and it makes it worse!!!"... poor hubby went to the village's "shop" (rural Scotland for you, he said he had never seen a shop with such empty shelves and random stuff lol), bought himself some mints (I feel so mean, poo hubby) and some ginger pop and digestive biscuits which I ended up puking right outside the people's drive (I tried to go further but it was too late). 5 minutes later I was fit as a fiddle, I am half thinking it was travel sickness but hubby says it's the pregnancy hormons. Dear people in random house in random village in Scotland: if you read this I am so sorry I was sick on your drive :s

nataaaaliee · 03/01/2014 17:41

I have my doctors appointmet on monday girlies! Im like yous abso terrified, no idea what's going to happen :o atm my edd id 6th sept but goodness knows what thatll change to :D

topmammy · 03/01/2014 17:41

Hubby you poor thing but that really made me Lol!! How many weeks are you? (coughTwinscough). The slightest thing is making me feel sick right now :/ no actual vom though thank goodness.

nataaaaliee · 03/01/2014 17:44

oh hubby god bless you. sounds like you had a adventure anyway haha welcome to pregnancySmile I went to the gym today and lasted all of 10mins before I was sick and had to leave Blush woopsy x

broodylicious · 03/01/2014 18:09

Oh hubby!! That sounds like when I was with dc1 - I had over an hour's drive to work but had to allow at least 90mins due to stopping for sickness! The only place I was never sick, bizarrely, was the stables - full of whiffs that may turn a sensitive tummy on the best of days Wink hehehe!! Last time, I found the only food that didn't make me sick was beige - crisps, sausage rolls, bread/toast, breadsticks, cheese....in fact I remember eating macaroni cheese for lunch at work pretty much every day for a few months!!

I would love to think I could get away with no sickness this time around because I felt awful during the first four months with dc1 but don't think I'll get away with it as I'm already feeling a bit queasy. We went to soft play today and it was heaving so quite warm.... Not the best for my little bean!!

nataaaaliee · 03/01/2014 18:29

just got my strong positive and a 2-3 weeks on the clearblue test Shock I could actually cry im happy..horomonesWink

Hubbythecatandme · 03/01/2014 18:31

Lol to beige food!!! I feel really dizzy and nauseous right now like I am on a boat and I am having motion sickness because of really rough sea. Not nice. I don't understand why my head is spinning so much ewww :s

topmammy · 03/01/2014 18:38

They say pregnancy is not an illness but we don't exactly feel in tip top condition right now do we lol. Take it easy hubby rest it out!

DearDinah · 03/01/2014 19:15

I don't feel sick but my tummy is bloated & I feel I need a number 2 all the time, been trumping all afternoon too Blush when do we start with the pregnancy glow? This is pregnancy pong! Lol

reidy32 · 03/01/2014 19:18

No sickness for me yet but taking each day as it comes and crossing my fingers that it won't be too bad if and when I get it!

I had my GP appointment this afternoon. She was lovely!! A new doctor - she said that I was the first person to come in and tell them they're pregnant since she's worked there. She was really happy to have such a nice appointment last thing on a Friday! I'd read some quite negative things about others' experiences with their GPs so was prepared for the worst!

I live near Bath so not sure if other areas have similar procedures. The GP gave me a pregnancy pack, recorded the date of my last period and checked my blood pressure. That was about it! We went through any questions that I had as well.

The pack I was given includes information about the local midwifery team. I have to call them to book an appointment for an early pregnancy group session which I need to attend between 6-9 weeks. It says that they'll book my scan date at this session which will take place between 10-12 weeks. At that second appointment they'll also do blood tests etc and take information about my health history and partner's health history. The pack also contained some info about foods to avoid, info about iron intake and a prescription exemption form.

There's a form that I need to fill in and take with me to my first appointment. I have to choose where I want to give birth! Choices are either home, local birthing centre, hospital in Bath or two hospitals in Bristol. It's making it all seem very real now!! Arrgghh!

Hope this helps to ease the fears of anyone nervous about their upcoming GP appointment. I was worried before I went in but needn't have been. The GP was lovely and I'm pleased with all the info I've received so far.

Laura2611 · 03/01/2014 19:45

Hi please can I join? I think my EDD 3rd sep ! Shock not exactly planned! This will be my 3rd I have 2 sons 1 & 4. Worried how I will cope with 3 anyone else in the same boat? X

PunkyPod · 03/01/2014 19:49

Yay Riedy for having such a positive appointment Smile lovely you have come away so informed.

DP has said he'll take dd to nursery on weds or thurs next week so I can go queue up for an appointment. Need it done because we get married in 2 weeks and then on honeymoon til the end of January. I'll make myself over 8 weeks by the time we get back from all the wedding shenanigans.

With dd I started getting chronic exhaustion from about 7-10 weeks. I needed to eat often too otherwise I felt queasy. Thankfully I never had morning sickness with her so I hope to avoid it again. Been having a few dizzy spells and icky feeling in the back if my throat today. Boobs are bigger too. Will pee on another ic tomorrow and hopefully the line will be a little stronger.

Yay for babies!!!!

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 03/01/2014 20:05

Hello.

Got BFP yesterday. Will check again on sunday. Am actually a bit annoyed at timing as i have a v stressful family wedding tomorrow and would have appreciated a drink. But i'm being silly, it was because of the drinking at the wedding i did the test so better safe than sorry. Will just use inner happy glow of new baby news to ride the tide of wanting to kill my inlaws. Better than gin any day!
due date i think is 9th sept, i wasn't really keeping track.
