Welcome to all new ladies who have joined! Wow getting busy! Good job we won't all be descending on the same Labour ward lol.

Love your wedding photo Mrs BexBoo hehe!

Justpenny Me and DH told our mums by showing them a photo of the positive pregnancy test lol. Haven't told my Dad yet.... I somehow feel scared to tell him lol! I'm 25 not 15 so I shouldn't feel like that but you know Hmm

Happy New year everyone!

topmammy · 01/01/2014 11:39

Aww offload all you need to Universalis, that's what this is here for. Smile Brew

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 11:48

Topmammy, please don't get veiny boobs envy lol, I seem to be getting so many symptoms, so.strong and so early I am freaking myself out by thinking it could be twins....(My mum's mum had twins) either that or I ovulated really early meaning I am really a week or two ahead? Feeling slightly puky this morning but at least tiredness seem gone.
Congrats on your wedding Bex!
Still slightly surprised by my mum and dad s flat reaction... maybe they think it's too early or sthg? I thought they were going to be over the moon... very strange!

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 11:52

Universalis, the way you feel is the way you feel and you are totally entitled to this!!!! At least you are honest about your feelings and saying you are worried about being a bad mum shows you are going to be a great one I am sure. Plus you already have children so I am sure you know how to do it!! :)

Justpenny · 01/01/2014 12:08

Aaah Universalis, rant away!! I feel guilty because the week before my BFP I went on TWO Christmas night's out and was absolutely hammered :( oopsee! Had done a test each morning and when I got the BFN I thought 'sod it' and hit the vino! I think 'guilt' is a massive pregnancy symptom throughout so don't worry one dot!!

Topmammy, i'm 31, with a son who's 8 already and I live with my boyfriend...but am still a nervous wreck about tellin my mum and dad! have just got off the phone with my sister who said that she'll tell them if I want...and kind of shoulder the blow if my mum kicks off! I am such a wimp!! haha!
xxx

twinkbat · 01/01/2014 14:17

Can I stick a tentative foot in? I "thought" I'd had my period but alas after feeling like absolute rubbish despite not drinking (after thinking that was the reason OOPS!!) and taking 3 tests and getting 3 bfps I'm slowly starting to get the message.

Its been two years and 2 CP's, but I'm quietly confident seeing as I already had a massive bleed over a week before my BFP I reckon my odds are good. EDD is september 3rd, 3 days after my birthday and 9 days after DH's! so excited!

reidy32 · 01/01/2014 14:59

Thanks for the warm welcome deardinah and topmammy! Twins would be very exciting! At the moment, I'm trying to just keep an open mind so that I don't get too big a surprise in case I find out there are indeed two little people in there! Hubbythecatandme, sounds like twins are on your mind too!!

How has everyone coped with being so newly pregnant over the festive period? Like others, I had a few drinks on a work do a few days before I found out I was pregnant. Only a couple though so hoping all will be ok.

I was a bridesmaid at my friends wedding at the weekend which was a bit of a test. I wasn't bothered about not having a drink because I don't drink much anyway but was worried that people would notice I was on the soft drinks. It was pretty easy for most of the day and I nursed a glass of wine over dinner and beyond by just taking a few sips. My only problem came late in the evening when a friend handed round a tray of shots. I refused but they were very insistent. I had to say no and that I couldn't drink sambuca without being sick. I'm sure they were a bit suspicious but maybe I'm just paranoid!

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 15:28

Ok everyone I'm back!!

First of all, I'm so sorry for you English, I'm sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts for this month. I hope you get your sticky bean very very soon xxx

How's everyone else doing? There are literally too many posts for me to read up, and I've only been gone a day!!!! Anyone getting any symptoms? X

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 15:31

Hubby, I told my mum the day before our wedding and she was also totally underwhelmed?? What is this about?? It will be her first grandchild, I was expecting tears, the lot. She gave me a big fat nothing. Lol. Quite annoyed if I'm honest?!

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 15:48

Bex, I have NO IDEA why my mum reacted like that but I am so glad I am not the only one going through this!! Even if it's not very nice. She was always so happy every time my cousins were pregnant, I thought she was going to cry like you did with your mum and be so happy. Instead, yup, big flat nothing and now I have spent the whole day trying to work out what I have done wrong! I don't get it at all, I am an only child, this would be her first grandchild. I even texted and got no answer lol my parents are normally so nice and so lovely I have no idea what is going on. She even said something along the lines of "yes well it's very early" and I was like.... "?!!!"
Huuby and I are so happy and I just don't understand what is wrong with my parents lol!!!! I'll just try not to think too much about it and hopefully will feel annoyed more than "gutted" about it!
Yes to symptoms, I don't understand why I am getting so many, in a way I am glad, in another, hubby keeps saying "from what it says online you seem to be getting the symptoms a week ahead...." and I am thinking "Twins?? TWINS?!"
From 2nd week after conception I have been getting a wide range of symptoms (OMG twins?!): dizziness, headache, itchy boobs, permanently erect nipples, veiny boobs (especially one lol!), cramps, weeing all the time, weeing all the time, sleeping all the time, getting very ranty then today feeling puky!
I watched a video on breastfeeding last night and I am sorry if this sounds bad but I can't help finding the idea of me "leaking" milk and a baby sucking on my tits utterly disgusting.... I hope when time gets closer I don't because at the moment, I think about breastfeeding and as much as I think I want to do it because it's good for the baby, my immediate thought is "ewwww". Is it normal to think like this???

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 15:52

Reidy32: twins are on my mind but only because my symptoms have been so strong so soon. Deep down I seem to think I am getting a boy (don't know why!!! When I think about baby I always say "he", maybe because in French the word baby is always masculine?? I am not sure.
Anyone else got an intuition??
Welcome Twinkbat!

topmammy · 01/01/2014 16:09

Hubby and Bex, maybe your parents are being cautious as its early days? Or they are thinking omg my baby is having a baby! Hmm I don't know :/ Try not to dwell on it too much if you can.

My DH's mum cried, my mum didn't, she just went all midwife on me and got her dating wheel thing out lol. Ooh Hubby, could be twins, there must surely be at least someone on here who has twins as there is quite a lot of us! I am a bit freaked out by breast feeding but I would like to do it as it's best for baby.

isitme1 · 01/01/2014 16:22

Twins run in the family here but don't survive :(well 1 doesn't.
My mum was a twin hers passed at birth.
I was a twin (mums 3rd child) aand mine passed inside her.
This is my 3rd...
if it is twins then will make sure they keep an eye 9n both!

Hello ladies can I join you? EDD September 9, baby 1 and petrified that AF will show up! I went to the doctors yesterday to get signed up with the midwife. Last night was a tad miserable on lime and soda but it's so worth it! Grin

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 16:53

Topmammy- I'm hoping she finds a bit of enthusiasm from somewhere!!! Haha. You're probably right, she's probably just not getting her hopes up as it's early.

Hubby, I've had a few symptoms, but seems like you've had the whole hog!! My skin is the worst it's ever been, my boobs are getting a bit sore, last night I had to fight with myself not to be sick (as it was 5 minutes to midnight and didn't want to miss it!) and itchy boobs, and lots of cramps. Haven't actually been sick yet though, have you?? I'm at the doctors tomorrow too, eek. I'm terrified!!! X

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 16:54

Sorry to hear about twins not surviving isitme, on the other hand, myy you have lots of chances to have twins as you and your mum were twins wow!
Thanks topmammy, I will try to put it out of my mind.
Currently feeling like I have motion sickness without moving, light headed and nauseous all day... I think I preferred being tired and weeing to this :s
I am sure I have put on all the weight I had lost too argh starting to feel it's going to be a loooong 9 months!!!!

Metalhead · 01/01/2014 17:13

Hi ladies, I'd like to join too if I may! Got my BFP yesterday, still can't really believe it as I was having the longest cycle ever (last period was in October!) and was really not expecting anything anymore.

EDD is 10 September, and this will be our second; we have DD who is 3.5. Had a pretty horrid time with her birth and PND so slightly crapping myself at actually having to do it all again!!

Newlywed2013 · 01/01/2014 17:15

Hi to all the new ladies!!

I survived NYE without drinking nursed a glass of wine for the whole night few sips and hubby kept drinking them as well to make it look like i was topping up lol!!
Hubby is suffering massively right now!

Justpenny I would definitely stick to your guns when it comes to names!! I think it is important for siblings to have the same surname so that they dont see one as being your child and one as being husbands child!

Those of you with thinking of twins, the thought absoloutely terrifies me!!!! I have not had any symptoms really, boobs a bit bigger and a little sore but not much and then, and half hour of nausea yesterday!! in a way i am pleased ive not got the symptoms as i know i would only moan if i did!
dont 5 tests so pretty damn sure i am pregnant!

Bex, not looking forward to seeing the doc at all. Moving surgery to hubby's to be able to see lovely female doc who specializes in gynaecology, family planning, ante and post-natal. A bit scared of the whole medical approach to things!
Haven't been sick, my mum wasn't at all so hopefully I will be the same, but I have felt nauseous all day (a bit like motion sickness, not bad enough to be actually sick but just always in the background...). Hope maybe it was just today...

whiteblossom · 01/01/2014 17:20

hello again, thanks for your kind words DearDinah, Im trying to be positive, Ill get some results back tomorrow so Ill take it from there.

English, Im so sorry to hear that your bleeding, this must be a scary and sad time for you, my thoughts are with you xx

Ive no sickness yet but that didn't start last time until week 6....Though I have started the pre bump moisturisation plan!! It worked last time so Im sticking to it. Smile

I read someone had a bad break out, my chin has been terribly bad since I conceived.

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 17:21

Topmammy, I too will want to breastfeed because it is best for the baby. Just the thought of a little baby sucking on my boob makes me think "ewww, what are you doing! Stop this!" Lol.... I hope by that time I will be all loved up with the baby and wanting to do it??
