Happy Christmas everyone!!!

Oh I have also been extremely tired!!! And wee wee wee is all I do. In actually having a wave of nausea as we speak...bleurgh. Newlywed, I've been in Scotland since Saturday, so first thing I did when I got home this afternoon was poas...just to check...have I gone mad??

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 17:25

The weeing has stopped a bit for past few days here and so has the sleeping all the time yay so hopefully Bex it won't last for too long!!! Apparently our kidneys grow so they can filter toxins from the baby's blood too :)
I am in Scotland at the mo (west coast) and it is cold and pouring down with rain!!! Feels a bit gloomy lol, will be looking forward to driving back home on Friday :)

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 17:30

Hubby I wee all the bloody time anyway without a baby thrown into the mix so I doubt I will get any relief in that department Confused Yes it was freezing yesterday in Gretna, bloody raining too on my wedding day. I was not happy!! Haha. The nausea is not a pleasant thing at the minute. I actually think physically being sick would help but it never amounts to it?!

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 17:46

Yup, I feel like a kid who is reading in the car and feeling nauseous but you don't get the "feel sick / feeling nauseous is over for a bit".
I have managed to look at doctor's surgery website and start freaking myself out about giving birth, labour, what the midwife and doctor are going to be like, what if this and that happens etc :S Oh dear, having a good day today lol! NOT!!

topmammy · 01/01/2014 18:09

I just hope I will get to breast feed as my hubby was born with cleft lip and pallet so with that condition babies can't really suckle. DH is a handsome chap now though, but he had to go through lots of unpleasant operations. It is a scary thought, but me and DH are keeping our fingers crossed baby will not have it. ooh I'm getting a bit emotional now, must be the hormones!

noitsachicken · 01/01/2014 18:10

Hi,
Trying to read through all the posts! The little round up is useful!

We told both sets of parents today, all pleased and surprised!

Now the reality of pregnancy and toddler is starting to sink in, I am exh austed and everything tastes funny but that's all so far. Anyone with more than one got any experience or tips to get through these first few weeks?

Newlywed2013 · 01/01/2014 18:13

the half hour of nausea i did have it felt like travel sickness to me!!
That would drive me crazy having to go to the loo that often!! Ive never been one to have to go to the loo alot so not looking forward to when it hits!!

You are not crazy Bex!

I need to make an appoinment with the dr but really nervous about doing it but i dont know why.
I will be moving in may/june time so will have to change drs then but really dont want to have to change but 20miles is too far to have to travel to the drs!! I thought i would be freaked about giving birth but im not (yet anyway) as for breastfeeding quite looking forward to it!!

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 18:46

Newlywed, I'm terrified of going the docs tomorrow and I have no idea why I'm so scared!! My friend who works in antenatal clinic at hospital says they literally confirm it, take bp, weight etc and refer you to midwife!! I'm still scared though!! Need to get a grip. Lol.

Newlywed2013 · 01/01/2014 18:57

i think it might be because it is making it more real!! its making the phonecall what scares me!! i will see if i can make it for tomorrow or next thursday so the hubby can come with me!

nataaaaliee · 01/01/2014 19:05

Girls I am not having a good day, I still feel like my tests are light they are freedom 20mlu ones and they are about half as dark as the control, I am literally in full panic most days :( before I had my m/c last time they said my line was too light for the 6weeks I was and now im obsessed! to be fair im just 4 weeks and its way darker than 3days ago im just so worried..sorry ladies needed to vent :)

how are we all getting on? any significant symptoms? :) xx

noitsachicken · 01/01/2014 19:13

Hi Nat I can imagine it must be hard not to worry, but try to relax and think positive.
Are you having any symptoms yet? That's always a good sign?

twinkbat · 01/01/2014 19:21

topmammy I'm petrified of teeth. DH was born with a nice set of nashers and hes already teasing me bump will.

nat I'm with you on the nervous thing. TBH I'm not even going to the doctors until I get past 6 weeks this time as I know they wont do a bloody thing and I want to get that far before I go through that again. But I'm sure it will be fine for both of us ;)

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 19:31

I am very scared about going to doc too, not sure why.
Lol to teeth!!!
I had to have a tooth extraction for the first time not so long ago and I was such a nightmare I thought hubby was going to hid me on a head with a shovel seriously!
I think I am going to be the same before labour lol, am thinking of maybe having a doula? Don't want a home birth though, I am just not sure how much the midwives help and reassure you when you are giving birth?? Would a doula be more with you all the time type of thing?

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 19:37

nataaaaliee who said the line was too light??
I had never heard of this to be honest.... please try not to worry (I know it's easy to say) because every day you are one step closer to giving birth to a healthy baby.

Newlywed2013 · 01/01/2014 19:47

I have always heard that a line is a line!! try not to worry nataaaaliee

if baby is born with teeth i will def reevaluate breastfeeding lol!! but its not too common so hopefully it should be ok lol!

i know what hospital i will give birth at, but not sure if i want to at that one but the other one would be too far.... hmmmmm

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 19:50

Natalie post a pic of your line hun and let's see. Don't worry, a line is a line. But post a pic and I will try to reassure you xxx

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 19:58

I too thought a line was a line...
I mean unless you have a sudden massive bleeding and pain etc I don't think you can predict M/C?

duvetheaven · 01/01/2014 20:23

Just to say my pregnancy is now over as AF arrived today. I did have really strong symptoms but they disappeared overnight. I thought it was a bit strange that my preg test on the 30 Dec showed a lighter line than the 29th. ( Don't want to worry you Nat -hope all is good). I have age to contend with , 42 yrs so I think with each preg I only have a 50 per cent chance. Anyway I feel ok and if I had not been trying to conceive I would have thought it was just a late period (oh and the strong symptoms lol). It has never taken me longer than 3 months to conceive so here's hopin! Good luck everyone :). Hope to be on another antenatal thread soon!

Hubbythecatandme · 01/01/2014 20:34

So sorry to hear duvetheaven, I was wondering where you were. Sending you a big hug. From what I have read, the older we get, the more "faulty" eggs we have left, hence it taking longer to conceive post 35 and then over 40. Doesn't mean you won't though, I find your optimism admirable. My hubby's mum had him aged 46, no problem at all, just a healthy baba. I hope you have a BFP very, very soon xxx

Newlywed2013 · 01/01/2014 20:43

I am sorry to hear that duvet Thanks

duvetheaven · 01/01/2014 20:48

Thanks very much hubby and newleywed. Unfort, I have had three previous MCs , two then my DD5 , one in Oct 2013 and now this one . So really unfortunately the doubt when I get a BFP is always there. I had acupuncture with my DD5 so am trying that again at the moment. It's nice to hear when it works out Hubby and I think I just have to keep going .Having my energetic blessing of a daughter helps : ). Wishing you all uneventful pregnancies . Take care xx

BexBoo12 · 01/01/2014 21:01

Aww duvet I'm so sorry xxx

Tutti · 01/01/2014 21:10

Duvet sorry for you xx

Universalis · 01/01/2014 21:41

So sorry Duvet, take care of yourself. Big hug

topmammy · 01/01/2014 21:47

Bless you duvet xx I'm sure you'll be back on an ante-natal thread v. soon Smile

Well I had a right shock this evening, got in the car with my mum and younger brother after being at a family gathering and my bro says, well that would've been a good time to tell everyone the news, why didn't you? Me and my mum were like WHAT?! and my bro: yeah you're pregnant! I couldn't believe my ears as I've not told him. Anyway turns out that my mum was telling my auntie over the phone (I did not know about that either!) and my brother was eavesdropping on the conversation, through a closed door too. God that little bugger has good hearing lol. So I've told him he has to keep his mouth shut and gave him a lesson about what a miscarriage is. Hopefully he will keep it a secret!
