dubaipieeye · 31/12/2013 03:14

How exciting bex my due date twin Grin come back soon and tell us your tales.

Hello tutti please come and chat to us about your concerns. X

Felt a bit nauseous this morning, but trying to tell myself it is too much rich food over Christmas! Really, really, really don't want morning sickness again. Trying to find out if there is anything I can take now to prevent nausea, but think it might be a lost cause Hmm. Also finding the two perfumes I got for Christmas unbearable - super strong smells eeeuurrgghh...

Four hours behind here, so I ll always be around to chat in your wee small hours! X

Tutti · 31/12/2013 05:01

Have a nice day bex ... Xx

Thanks for the welcome and reassurance guys ...

I just feel 'lost' .... And terrible that I don't feel that happy ...

I am scared cos we are all in 'our routines' I am 40 ,Iast year I got my dog I wanted forever , our ds is just starting to become independent ..ish...

I feel like a cheat ... Am off to docs later ... Had horrific birth with ds ... So am petrified for that ...

Gosh I am full of happiness me .. Sorry ... Bit yesterday morning .. In a million years I didn't think I would really be pregnant ...

bugoven · 31/12/2013 06:18

Love seeing the stats filling up.

Welcome tutti I think these threads are mwant for the downs as well as the ups to talk away.

Justpenny · 31/12/2013 08:42

Hi!! Can I join too? Got my BFP on Christmas EVE...eeek! Didn't really believe it because it was so so faint so tested again on Boxing Day and have done every day since :) CBD says 1-2 weeks, but different online calculators have given me different due dates...im so excited tho!! Have already got a DS who is 8, and this is my first with DP. He doesn't seem as excited as I am...we decided to try properly a month or so ago so it's a shock that it's happened so quickly (a happy shock for me!!) and already we're arguing over stupid things. Me and DS have my surname, so I just presumed the new baby would too as me and DP are not married nor are we thinking of getting married (his words, not mine :( ) and last night he said he wants the baby to have his surname. When I voiced my concerns, ie. I don't want my DS to feel left out or to have 2 children with different surnames, he stormed out and slept on the sofa. he's awake downstairs now, pottering about, but im upstairs, too scared to go down to an argument. Am I in the wrong?? Sorry it's a long one...have been layin awake for hrs thinkin about it, in between running to the loo for about a million wees, and wondering if this back pain is normal!!!! :) xxxxx

dubaipieeye · 31/12/2013 08:52

Hi tutti, have you told anyone? Your DP? What does he think? I am sure time will help you absorb this news, but with a three year old DS we had settled in to a nice routine so I can imagine how this news could be an earthquake in your life!

Hi just penny, congrats! TBH I think you are completely right. Perhaps your DP is just having a wobble with it all happening so fast? X

bugoven · 31/12/2013 09:37

Hi justpenny. Welcome and congratulations. My CBD said 1-2 yesterday (and so did the one I did an hour later). I agree with dubai, when couples start trying they expect a bit of time to get used to the idea. mrbug and I have been trying over two years and it was still a shock with lots of emotions involved!

topmammy · 31/12/2013 10:32

I definitely thought I'd have more time to get used to the idea! I only POAS the first time for DH as he was so excited, I fully expected negative as it only the first cycle, then omg!! lol.

Well I've got my booking appt now. Not till Jan 25th but managed to get a Saturday which means no awkward questions at work. Annoyingly though my doc has put my due date in the system as 28th August having assumed I have a 28 day cycle, but my cycle is between 34 and 42 so I don't agree with that due date lol. Oh well it will change if it needs to at the first scan.

Welcome justpenny Sorry to hear about your surname troubles, it's a tricky one and I can understand your concerns. Have a Brew Smile

DearDinah · 31/12/2013 10:33

Welcome justpenny & tutti sorry to hear you are having a rough time, I don't know about anyone else but my mood swings are terrible! I think at this time our emotions will be up & down, but perhaps a frank talk with OH's in a neutral setting just to clear the air, or let them know your true feelings and they can do the same? It's a tough time if it's not expected I'm sure, lots to think about & prepare for, wishing you the best & hoping as days go by you start to feel a little better.

I did a cb digi & it put me 2-3 weeks, good to see it in writing! Lol I've made my first MW appt on the 17th Jan, should DH come with me, I think he wants to, is it the 'done' thing?

DearDinah · 31/12/2013 10:34

topmammy my edd is earlier than I expected, I'm convinced it's a week later, but won't it mean we'll get 1st scan earlier? No bad thing :)

topmammy · 31/12/2013 10:44

True deardinah didn't think of it like that! My DH will be coming with me if he can, he'll have been on night's but it's an afternoon appt so hopefully he will be able to get up and come with me. Bless him. I think they do ask about the fathers medical history too so I'm sure it is the done thing for them to go too. Plus I feel that DH is 'pregnant' too if you get what I mean, it's just me that is carrying baby lol, so I want him to cone to all appts if possible.

Justpenny · 31/12/2013 11:22

Hi everyone!! yeah, im hoping it's just shock/excitement and as he gets used to the idea we'll be able to discuss things properly without getting so emotional and angry!! Have been up for hours and so far have had 2 sausage on toasts, 6 cups of decaf tea, and looked on about...erm...a MILLION pregnancy websites! haha! I know it's really early days but I've already drawn up my maternity clothes wishlist and am thinkin of names! haha! please say everyone else is as obsessed as I am?! Also, has anyone got any good book suggestions? With my DS (who's now 8) I read Gina Ford's book and it was HORRIFIC!! I ended up using it as a door stop! haha! It was so regimented!! xxx

DearDinah · 31/12/2013 11:41

Haha! I'm pretty obsessed, we've been thinking of names for a while since we started trying really. I've just ordered bumpology from a few positive reviews on here & plan to have a rifle through the library/charity shop for others, I think so many can be hit & miss (like you discovered!) I don't want to waste any money, especially not since we'll need every penny! Hope you go on ok with your partner, it is quite old fashioned to think the child must have fathers name so I wouldn't agree to it if you don't want to! X

DisneyDiva87 · 31/12/2013 13:21

Hi! I got my bfp a couple of weeks ago now just before I travelled home for Christmas it was so faint I could hardly believe it and hubby was convinced it was a negative but I stuck to the mn mantra, "a line is a line" I did a cbd the morning we left and got 1-2 weeks. Think I'm still in shock! Been off the pill since may but haven't really been trying (mostly due to hubby's health issues). I have my first appointment with the midwife in 2 weeks so I'll hopefully get my EDD then, think I'm about 5 weeks now only 8 months to go.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 31/12/2013 13:59

Have an amazing day Bex! Congratulations! Enjoy every minute, it really will be the best day of your life.... So far! Another amazing day will come in 9months! Grin

EnglishGirlAbroad · 31/12/2013 15:30

Can someone take me off the list, im pretty sure I'm miscarrying. Wishing you all healthy and happy pregnancies

bugoven · 31/12/2013 16:15

English I'm so very sorry to hear that. I miscarried beginning of September after trying for 2years and conceived again within 2 cycles. If the worst is happening you can and will get pregnant again. So horrible for you though. Take care of yourself Xx

topmammy · 31/12/2013 16:37

Sad Oh god that's so horrible for you English. But bug is right, if it is actually happening you'll be fine and can try again. Not much consolation now though I'm sure. Definitely get checked out at the docs when you can get an appt xxx

EnglishGirlAbroad · 31/12/2013 16:50

Saw the doctor this morning, she said at this point medical intervention is unnecessary unless I'm bleeding for over a week. Feel pretty numb right now but I'll be fine. Onto the next cycle I guess Hmm

DearDinah · 31/12/2013 16:51

So sorry English please look after yourself & keep trying Thanks

bugoven · 31/12/2013 17:17

English you are being so strong and positive, you're an inspiration Xx

Newlywed2013 · 31/12/2013 18:14

English I am so sorry! Will take you off the list :-( when I get in the laptop in a bit! Thinking of you! I had this two months ago so know what it feels like x

Hubbythecatandme · 31/12/2013 18:29

I am so sorry to hear English, you are fertile you and your partner are able to have children so please try to stay positive even if it must be very very tough. I would like to send you a big hug. Please remember every day you are one step closer to having a healthy little baby in the future. If you are miscarrying now, you aren't loosing a healthy foetus, you are loosing an egg with too many chromosomal deformities to.turn into a baby. Sending you a big hug, here to talk if you need someone to chat to.

Hubbythecatandme · 31/12/2013 18:37

Justpenny, you aren't in the wrong at all! No offense but I really think your partner should know better than emotionally blackmail a newly pregnant woman by sleeping on the sofa and making you feel bad! What about double barrel name? My friend.s.brother and his gf.did that. Or could he not give his name to your little boy too? Please look after yourself, you sound lovely. I too have million wees although today and yesterday not as much. I do have very veiny boobs, though looks like a road map lol, anybody else????

Justpenny · 31/12/2013 18:49

English, I am so so sorry...hope you're ok :( Like the others have said, stay positive and look after yourself.

Hubby, we spoke about it again this morning, he'd calmed down and apologised but said he was still pretty adamant about the baby having his name. I'm too tired to argue so just changed the subject and have spent the whole day singing "Single Ladies" to him...he's just gonna have to put a ring on it if he wants me to use his name! Mwuhahaha! :)

Random question...as i'm not drinking tonight (am making up for it by eating the entire contents of my fridge and freezer!!!) am spending some time trawling the net for baby books. There's a sale on maternity clothes on ASOS...dya think it's too soon to buy some? Did another CBD this morning and it said 2-3, which means 4-5 weeks doesn't it? Is that way too early to buy clothes??? xxx

Oh...and my boobs aren't veiny yet...my hips are aching tho, and have been all day..that's normal right??? xxx
