liquid I'm in bucks, were basically next door!! :)

I really haven't felt pregnant today, but very lazy, my dds just filled her nappy but dp will be through the door any minute now.. It's his welcome home present!

NancyinCali · 14/01/2014 18:48

Haha tents! Lucky man Grin.

When DH gets home on Wednesday he is in charge of all nappies, bathtime, bedtime until he buggers off again on his boys' trip on Sunday. I would like to know when I get my girls' trip...

AuntieMaggie · 14/01/2014 19:02

I've also got a few other friends going through non-baby related stuff (cancer, bereavement, etc) so it just felt a bit wrong to do the fb thing when they're using it for support and to express their feelings.

I really want to know whether the double seam should go at the front or back now!

Bristol here...

turnwest · 14/01/2014 19:45

nancy hope you re doing ok? I ve had brown discharge today as well, going for scan tomorrow, think it's common though and hopefully we ll be both be ok. I don't know what hyperthyroidism but I hope you ll be ok. Take it easy if possible.

Plateofcrumbs · 14/01/2014 19:48

Hello newbies and worriers! I genuinely don't know how anyone makes it to 12 weeks without exploding with anxiety. Scan at 9 weeks was worth every penny I paid for reassurance, and now I'm just trusting the stats are on my side. So I'm totes chillaxed about my scan tomorrow. Although now paranoid that being toooo chillaxed will jinx it (how can I be both completely rational and utterly irrational at the same time?)

I think I'm more concerned about whether the ovarian cysts they discovered at first scan have grown any bigger. If they're not growing hopefully can get away without any further intervention.

theborrower · 14/01/2014 20:16

ihatepopuptents Yes. I think it's just a fact of having kids though. I don't see a lot of the friends I used to, or only very occasionally. I'm just too busy with work / looking after DD / can't get a babysitter very often so DH and I can go out together as a couple (to see mutual friends) / can rarely go out for a drink after work because of nursery pick ups etc. then the friends that do have kids can be hard to see because of all the reasons above and because weekends are precious family time. Sometimes it gets me down. Sometimes it doesn't, I've got used to it. It really bothered me in the beginning though.

coco808 · 14/01/2014 20:22

hate to see everyone so worried....I've got my fingers crossed for all the scans and doctors appointments

coco808 · 14/01/2014 20:24

I've got an appt with the consultant next week, when I will be 15+6. The appointment was booked by the midwife as I have bad asthma. Could anyone please tell me if I can discuss birth options with the consultant at that appointment?

LaDay · 14/01/2014 20:43

Right chaps - hope you don't mind me saying this but IMHO....our true mates will be our mates forever, whether we have no kids, ten or a pet giraffe. Think quality not quantity here. Also remember there is scope for meeting new mates all the time so when we all pop we should all try and get out of the house occasionally... Let's see motherhood as an opportunity to expand our social circle, not shrink it!

coco know what you mean re everyone worrying, crossed fingers here for everyone too...and I would ask your consultant indeed - my sister has awful asthma too and delivered fine last jan having had some great discussions with the consultant before..

maggie I used to live in Bristol and still work there a day a week...long shot I know but did you ever play netball in Bristol?!

Still not sure about these tights chaps..I feel you may all be right way round and me wrong....!!!! Shock

AuntieMaggie · 14/01/2014 21:09

LaDay Only played netball at school before we got banned for fighting

LaDay · 14/01/2014 21:16
Grin
DorotheaHomeAlone · 14/01/2014 21:38

Phew. Had my scan and everything was just fine with the baby. Had a little cry when I heard the heartbeat, I was just so relieved. No way am I getting myself into this state in 8 weeks time! Apparently I was just lucky with the 2 weeks of queasiness and nothing more. Now it's really real. Good luck to my fellow late July peeps who are still waiting on scans.

Fox82 · 14/01/2014 21:43

Yay Dorothea that's great news! Smile

DorotheaHomeAlone · 14/01/2014 21:52

Thanks. I'm so relieved. They found a small fibroid but said it was nothing to worry about and I've decided to just take that at face value and enjoy the happy day!

elliejjtiny · 14/01/2014 21:54

coco yes you should be able to discuss birth options. Make sure you ask at the beginning of the appointment though as some of the drs seem to be in a massive hurry and just want to get their boxes ticked. Which consultant have you got? After so many pregnancies I think I've met most of them Grin.

re friends I moved house just before having DS1 so I've got my "mum friends" in one place and my "non-mum friends" somewhere else. I was one of the first of my school/uni friends to have a baby when I had DS1 although quite a few of them have DC the same age as DS3 and DS4.

AuntieMaggie I got chucked off the netball team at school too Grin

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 14/01/2014 22:26

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been a bit quiet of late - had a busy ish week balancing sociable things like going to gigs with practical things such as emptying our back room of books and junk in preparation for the baby.

Hope you're all doing well. Does anyone else only look pregnant after they've had their dinner, or is it just me?! I balloon up in the evenings but by the morning it's all gone again. Weird.

SmallOlympianBear · 14/01/2014 22:46

Great news, Dorothea.

Tent and Liquid, I'm in Berks too :)

jaykay987 · 15/01/2014 05:52

Wow it's getting chatty in here! Grin I've got some catching up to do!

Before I read back, I am happy to report, second class of yoga last night = second time sleeping through the night since getting BFP! I am so relieved last week wasn't a coincidence! Grin

jaykay987 · 15/01/2014 06:06

Coco - Ive no idea, but my consultant appointment (high risk due to thyroid and bmi) is Thursday when I'll be 16+1. I've no idea what to expect, so can report back then.

icklekid · 15/01/2014 06:33

laday well said about friends very true

itsalwaysbetteronholiday I wish I only felt big after eating seem to be showing all the time at 14weeks!!! Help!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 15/01/2014 07:15

jaykay - good to hear, I'm going to start yoga next week I think. Going to give antenatal aqua aerobics a try tonight now I finally have a bit more energy...

icklekid - I'm just coming up to 14 weeks. I'm sure one morning very soon I'm going to wake up with a huge bump and in a panic over what to wear to work!

fifi669 · 15/01/2014 08:30

I'm a bit chunky so I've been 'showing' since before my BFP!

IHatePopUpTents · 15/01/2014 08:36

What does bfp mean?!?!

WinterBabyof89 · 15/01/2014 09:08

tents big fat positive (pregnancy test)

Re: baby bump.. By evening I look 6 months pregnant.. The bloating is horrendous! In the morning I have a little bump below belly button & my jeans are fit to burst!

ismarah · 15/01/2014 09:15

Had a thought: my consultant appointment is on a Friday and my 20 week scan is on the Monday after. Would it make sense to see if I can have the scan moved to before the consultant appointment? Or does it not matter?

I'm on the Hants / Surrey / Berks border.
