hello pixie and welcome Smile

blue and plate - we've just started watching West Wing. I'm clearly going to have to pay more attention to it if just for the names (rather than browsing mumsnet whilst it's on!)

MrsA2 · 07/01/2014 20:29

Zing three of your names are on our boys list, lovely names.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 07/01/2014 20:43

about sleep - I'm an "owl" so I can manage on about 5-6 hours, but I need a nap at lunch time.
I can't physically sleep for longer than 8 hours - if I do I wake up with terrible backache/neckache.

Pixie

Welcome and massive FX that this will be a healthy baby!Smile

BlueC2 · 07/01/2014 20:51

Speaking of sleep I can't keep my eyes open any longer so bed it is! Here's hoping for a better night than last night!

elliejjtiny · 07/01/2014 21:07

Welcome Pixie

Zing We overlap on one of the middle names (Matthew) and almost one of the first ones (I've got a Malachi, which is quite close to Michael) as well as Isaac. We tend to go for more unusual names as DH works with children so doesn't like to double up with any children from work.

Re names we've had a girls name picked since I was pregnant with DS3 and a boys name picked before the pregnancy test was dry Grin. We normally pick names really quickly, it was only DS1 that we struggled with.

Doodlequackquack · 07/01/2014 21:13

I haven't posted in a while, but I'm afraid this looks like my stop, can someone take me off the list please?

I had a scan yesterday at 13+5 at the EPU because of vanishingly light spotting, and it turns out I've had a mmc Sad My dating scan was booked for tomorrow, except now the appt is to confirm what the doctor yesterday said- that there is a sac measuring 14 weeks, but no sign of any baby. I didn't even know that could happen, that you continue to grow without a baby there, but I have a thread in pg loss, and apparently so. I feel like I took things for granted this time because my first pg was so straightforward, but I'm cured of that now!

I hope to get booked in asap for surgical management, because the bleeding has restarted and is red now, and the doc suggested I don't want to do this naturally at 14wks, and I agree. I'm fine, at least I will be when I get more answers.

I wish you all easy peesy feet-up pgs and walk-the-park births and babies! Wink I might pop in in a while to see how you're doing. xx

ImMarmite · 07/01/2014 21:16

Any of you ladies snoring?? I'm keeping my OH awake with it. I've read it can lead to low birth weight!!

coco808 · 07/01/2014 21:34

I'm so sorry to hear that doodle. take care of yourself Brew

osinachi · 07/01/2014 21:38

Hello have just joined. First pregnancy and really looking forward to it. 38yrs so consider myself an oldishh first time mum.
Been following the thread.
I find I get really hungry and yet the thought of food and smell of soups and stews make me feel nauseous. I haven't told work. Am 12 weeks tomorrow and have scan appt on Friday. Am really looking fwd to it. I've been obsessing about prams.
@Doodle sorry about your loss.

AuntieMaggie · 07/01/2014 21:49

So sorry Doodle take care Flowers

Welcome osinachi I've been the same with soups and stews too - worst place for me was paddington station!

Was planning to go to bed at 8 but ended up rowing with DP instead... why is it they always pick the time you feel shit to argue?

Off to bed now - hope you all sleep well x

Plateofcrumbs · 07/01/2014 21:50

doodle I'm so sorry, how crushing.

elliejjtiny · 07/01/2014 22:02

So sorry doodle. I had a mmc at 13+2 in between DS's 3 and 4. I'm glad you have chosen the surgical option. I had a natural miscarriage at 12+1 and the surgical one at 13+2 and the surgical one was physically a lot better. Just to warn you though, you may leak milk afterwards. It happened to me and it would have been nice to know beforehand.

icklekid · 08/01/2014 05:55

Welcome pixie- your very patient I would be calling and asking for dates for scan etc by now.

So sorry doodle it must be heartbreaking to go through mmc so late :-(

I can totally relate to feeling hungry in the morning and evening yet the thought of food making me nauseous! Last night I ate water biscuits for tea-plain and boring they still didn't stay down :-( just hoping this sickness stops soon (currently 13+4) just lucky I'm generally ok during day so can work just get tired quickly but better now people know why!

MrsA2 · 08/01/2014 07:10

Doodle I'm so sorry, what an awful surprise. Take care of yourself.

Hi to osinachi and Pixie

Off to London for work today, just the thought of trains and tubes makes me exhausted already.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 08/01/2014 08:05

I'm really sorry Doodle. Look after yourself and I hope the surgery goes well.

Plateofcrumbs - after years of nagging DH has finally got me as obsessed by the West Wing as he is. We've just started series 4. He keeps (I think jokingly) suggesting WW inspired names like ''Fitzwallace". I actually quite like Toby as a possible boy's name though (my favourite character next to CJ)

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 08/01/2014 08:10

Doodle

Heartbreaking news, I'm so sorry you are going through this.Sad

As I had said before my MC was my 5th pg - I never thought it would happen either.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 08/01/2014 08:13

Ellie

I wasn't brave enough to go for Malachi - that's why he is Michael!
But I haven't met a Michael his age or younger so far so it turned out to be good an "unusual" name!Grin
Unlike Noah, funnily enough, which so far we know another 5 of! (oldest is 10!)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 08/01/2014 08:14

Keep forgetting to say - my due date has changed by one day to the 18th July.

Also - got a letter yesterday telling me I'm Rh neg, so will need anti D injections further on in the pregnancy. Was half expecting it as I remember my mum saying the same happened to her with me, so no massive surprise, and I know it's not a big deal - yet last night this inspired a pregnancy anxiety dream where I got caught up in hospital bureaucracy trying to find a nurse to give me the damn injection! Pregnancy brains are weird.

sparklesandfizz · 08/01/2014 09:41

Hi all - not posted since joining but had scan yesterday.

A single very wriggly baby with NT of 1mm woohoo. They brought my dates forward am now due 14th which is a relief as we are off to camp bestival on 31st July and both my others have been v overdue. MW has promised me a sweep at term, hopefully it will work.

Hoping the vomiting and generally feeling awful will begin to lift for us all and we can move onto the nice middle bit where all is well with the world.

Safyre · 08/01/2014 10:25

Haven't checked in here in ages! I feel so far behind the rest of you, am only just 11 weeks and my scan isn't until next Thursday!

To whoever was asking about overnight sleeping in the Vista - DS slept in his after the (second hand) moses basket collapsed until he grew out it (about 4-5 months, he was a long baby). DH is all in favour of using it again for this baby but I have my heart set on a crib this time. My Vista was a present from my Grandparents and it's wonderful - I love it and it's in great condition despite having had almost daily use for the last 16 months.

Names are a whole different story - I've gone off the girls name we had picked for DS, but DH still loves it and has turned down all other suggestions. We only had 1 boys name last time though, so I have no idea what we're going to do this time if it's a boy! No doubt we'll come up with something.. if only DH didn't have such a strict set of 'naming rules!' Grin

AuntieMaggie · 08/01/2014 11:05

Morning ladies. Hope you're having a good day.

I'm feeling better today - much less discomfort and feeling more productive in work.

DPs parents have decided they're going to rent a cottage near us for a few weeks when the baby comes (they live abroad) I did warn DP that its going to be hard for them to book it to fit in as baby could come early/late and that I'm not sure how soon I'll be ok to see them...

ismarah · 08/01/2014 11:08

I'm feeling the let down at the moment. Had the scan, told everyone, got the happy reactions. All done. And now there's nothing else going on other than bean growing and most people don't see that. I'm strange. (Although my parents will be here next week so that might be nice. This time if I want to cry in the airport I can! Cause they know!)

Did order some maternity wear which arrived today. May go torture DH with a 'fashion' show in a minute.

liquidstate · 08/01/2014 11:15

This morning I am craving a cup of tea. Haven't had one since November. I am going for it.

Wish me luck - It may get messy.

talulahbelle · 08/01/2014 11:50

Today I am mainly feeling stressed. Worried about mc. I had a scan at 10+2 and my nuchal scan is next Monday at 12+2, but after 4 previous losses I can't relax.
Sickness has pretty much lifted bar a few mild food aversions now, I'm hoping things are still ok. Feeling crap was at least reassuring. Although now I am just so so tired, stressed with work pressure as there's south to do and not sure how to cope (although getting off MN may be a start!)

Hope everyone else is ok.
