Good to hear positive scan news! Mine isn't until 3.30pm our time (11.30pm uk) so I have a while to wait yet. Been a long day already as DD was up at 5am again.

teaandkittens · 06/01/2014 19:49

it's my (private) scan tomorrow, I'm terrified!

Also I hit 12 weeks officially (acc to lmp) today and I still feel crap lol.

Work awkward, lots of pregnancy talk and forward planning today. dreading telling them!

Argh this time tomorrow I might have seen my baby!!

MissSlackPants84 · 06/01/2014 20:04

Casmama I went for my 12 week scan today. Barry (the bean) wouldn't get in the right position. He was punching, bouncing and generally being disobedient. The sonographer had me practically upside down, thrusting about, jigging my belly and getting me to zumba until she gave in and sent me for a walk. When I got back from my walk Barry was finally lay down but face down just to be awkward lol. Did they ask you to try anything to help get the position?

eepie · 06/01/2014 20:08

Hi there ! Not really sure how these threads work but I am due on July 2nd - can I join ? Xx

MrsB2013 · 06/01/2014 20:26

Coco I'm going to ask for an ELCS. I'm so scared of everything to do with natural birth. I'm going to do some research on all the risks etc. I have an appointment with the consultant mw in a couple of weeks, to talk about my fears, but I will just ask then!

Re: moses baskets/cribs, the Uppababy Vista carrycot says its suitable for overnight sleeping, would that just be for a one off or daytime naps, or could it be used instead of moses? I'm clueless with all this stuff lol

Great news on the scans today :)

eepie welcome! Just join in with the chat on here! Is this your first?

Zing you haven't had a namechange for a while Wink

I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow!! Time is going so fast, it's scary! I have a definite bump now, will need to buy some maternity jeans/trousers soon. Why done many shops sell mat clothes??

How is everyone else??

Welcome to eepie and great to hear of more lovely scans

jaykay987 · 06/01/2014 20:39

Good luck to those with scans.

Mrsb - I believe uppababy vista is approved for overnight sleeping. I plan on using instead of a downstairs Moses basket.

Hello eerie - Ive same due date as you! Smile

I told work today - wasn't as bad as I had feared. Can't believe I'm almost 15weeks - feels weird telling people - I still feel like a fraud! Grin

MissSlackPants84 · 06/01/2014 20:44

Jaykay987 were you worried about telling work? Im cacking it! Just started a new job and im still in my probationary period...eek!!!

P.S I'm due 20th July Smile

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 06/01/2014 21:09

MrsB

I know! I need to NC but it's been crazy today, again, no time to fire up the PC!Grin

Casmama · 06/01/2014 21:18

Thanks incapinkaand missSlack. Yes I was asked to partially empty my bladder and sho shoogle my hips about but the baby seemed to move from one bad position to another.

Ah well, just need to hope the bloods are good.

AuntieMaggie · 06/01/2014 21:51

Ha ha MissSlackPants we're calling it Barry too atm - mainly cos we can't agree on any names!

jaykay I know what you mean - it still feels surreal. Told work today though so all good...

I don't have a flat stomach anyway but its definitely taken on a firmness today.

NancyinCali · 06/01/2014 21:56

Just ate a whole bar of green and blacks. Oh dear.

jaykay987 · 06/01/2014 22:05

Sounds yummy nancy!!

missslack yes I was terrified. I had planned on trying to keep it quiet until the end of the month.....but my belly has had other ideas. I had to tell before it outted me! Grin I've been at my job awhile, but despite it being a large company, and working in a team of just over 100 - I'll be only the second person to ever go on mat leave from my team! Eek! But they seemed to take it well today.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 06/01/2014 23:18

good news about good scans - yay!

MS is toying with me. This morning I nearly threw up when I tried to shower DD.
turns out not all poos are created equal.
there are ok ones, bad ones, poonami ones and those that should be in the "criminal offence & punishable by law" category.
you should all be glad I can not describe the smell.
it was evil.

been feeling bleugh all day.
bought 6 pack of Blue Beck's - I don't know why but it made me feel a bit better.Confused
why I crave it is beyond me, I don't like beer.

NancyinCali · 07/01/2014 03:36

Scan went well today, lovely to see the little baby wiggling and heart beating. DNA test results back and all clear. And we know what we're having…

A GIRL!!

I'm so excited to have 2 DDs!

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 07/01/2014 03:39

That's lovely news!

What kind of DNA testing was it?

NancyinCali · 07/01/2014 03:53

Thanks Zing. You okay, what are you doing up at this time of day?

I guess it is similar to Harmony - it tested for Down Syndrome, Trisomy 13 & 18. It was this one.

jaykay987 · 07/01/2014 05:04

sorry zing that sounds horrible!

congratulations Nancy!!!!! Sounds like the perfect family to me! Grin

MissSlackPants84 · 07/01/2014 06:12

AuntieMaggie My boyfriends surname is White which is why we are calling it barry for now...hardly original I know lol

JayKay987 I'm glad it went well for you. I'm desperate to tell my boss. Think he'd take it well, just not sure about how HR would take it

MrsA2 · 07/01/2014 07:51

Jaykay that's great it went well at work, I know you were very nervous.

Seemingly mine has gone well too though I am still nervous that there's a big restructure around the corner - nothing official has been said but a few things seem to be leading that way.

Lovely news Nancy, congratulations!

Plateofcrumbs · 07/01/2014 08:22

Glad to hear good scan news and that must be our first gender announcement.

Had 10 hrs sleep last night and I still feel utterly shattered. Tell me this bit ends soon...

liquidstate · 07/01/2014 08:37

Still exhausted and vomiting several times a day. This has to stop soon???? Am officially back to work this week but the office is surrounded by floods so cant get in by car. My village also slightly cut off, ie roads are flooded and you need a 4x4. Need to go to a meeting on Thursday which I cannot get out of and I need to get into the office to collect cameras etc before then. Its also a 1.5 hours drive through flooded villages to get to the office.

Hrmph.

Am I the only one who hasn't even thought about the birth bit?? My next midwife appointment is on the 16th so maybe it gets discussed then? I don't even know what all these initials you are using mean Confused

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 07/01/2014 08:42

seriously rubbish night - I was wide awake past 4 am, then woke up twice.

it just pisses me off that I'm up, not sleeping and not doing anything useful either - then I'm utterly useless during the day being exhausted. Angry

DS2 was an utter brat this morning, made me so angry I feel sick again.
Anyone knows about a "listening and doing as told" serum must notify me immediately.
I need a truck load, for starters.

ellentullo · 07/01/2014 10:53

Maybe the list could be updated with fetal nicknames too. When I thought I was due in June I was thinking about June-bug but it dont work so well with July. Think I will wait for scan and see what it looks like. Husband though early scan looked like a dinosaur so maybe "Dino". My mate Vicky's unborn was called Hodor!

Khaleesi1985 · 07/01/2014 11:00

14 weeks today! Does anyone else have a massive appetite? Is this a second trimester thing? It seems like overnight I went from nauseous all the time to famished all the time. I can't seem to eat enough. I'm eating like a teenage boy going through a growth spurt :)
