Ha ha okay! I can use the excuse of finding it very unusual you don't have a booking in appointment first and didn't want to miss my spot if I was wrong (I shall blame myself rather than not believing the doctor, don't want to sound insane!!) Grin

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 21:51

When I chased mine I just says I was worried the letter had gone AWOL in the Christmas post. The woman I spoke to was lovely and gave me the info on the phone. :-)

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 21:53

Oh that sounds like a good idea! Could always blame finding child care for dd! I shall put it on my to do list for Monday!! Probably best to leave them be over the weekend Smile

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 22:03

I'm taking DD to my booking in appt! I thought that if it's a midwife I know (and I met LOADS while pregnant with her!) then they'd probably like to see her now.

Not sure about the scan. We may leave her with DH's mum, I imagine.

Polkadot1 · 27/12/2013 22:07

I think that would be fine fatty just say you weren't sure how the system worked and wondered when the appt for scan would come through

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:08

I would take dd to booking but not scan, although not sure if I would as wouldn't want her to know (until after scan) but guessing she'd be oblivious anyway!!! But because I've been told both will be at same time I can blame child care on that!!

Polkadot1 · 27/12/2013 22:08

I'd hope mine will come through in the next 2 weeks- will prob be last week in Jan

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:09

Thanks polka dot! I'm glad you don't all think I'm impatient!! Smile

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:09

Have you had booking in appointment yet?

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 22:21

Hell, I chased mine, so I can't really say anything to you, can I?!

Polkadot1 · 27/12/2013 22:26

I had mine today which was fine! They do recommend in our region not to bring small children, as it can take up to an hour, and have to have bloods done etc, and you both need to be able to concentrate (there's an 8 sided questionnaire you have to fill in before you go, and then go through it- health, previous pregnancies, lifestyle etc...)

My MW was quite sweet really. I had a C-section last time, and she asked me what I thought this time- said I was quite happy for the same (had v good experience). So she said she wouldn't bother booking me an appointment at the "choices" clinic where they try to persuade you to try a vaginal delivery- and I'm quite happy about that!

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:31

Oh that sounds good polka! I must admit that's why I was so surprised the doctor said booking in was done at same time as scan as remember from dd that it took ages! I will definitely get dd looked after then! Even more reason to ring and chase!! Wink I am hoping he's got it wrong as tbh would rather do booking in on my own and dh come to scan. He'll just be sat there like a spare part during booking in and scan appointment will take HOURS!!

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:32

Hungry we're they nice when you rang up? Was it your doc that referred you??

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 22:37

No, I self referred. They were lovely though.

DD is only 6 months so she'll be fine to take...not like she will be running away! There was nothing mentioned in my letter about not taking her anyway. :-)

Polkadot1 · 27/12/2013 22:40

My little man is 14 months and would cause chaos! Pulling things off tables, opening/ emptying cupboards, wanting me to walk him round and trying to chat! Ha ha!

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:40

Sorry just realised were not we're! Stupid self correct on phone!!! Gosh you're brave having another so soon! Be lovely age gap though Smile mine nearly 3, she's everywhere probably best not to take her!!!!!

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:40

Ditto polka!!

Missvaughan85 · 27/12/2013 22:41

I saw my dr at 4+4 and I haven't heard anything since. Gave my details for midwife to ring and haven't heard anything. I'm 7 weeks today. DH and I have said that if my belly continues to grow. Then we may end up telling people sooner. Family wise. I'll just let everyone else ask. DH has agreed that I'm starting to show already. I'm going to leave it till next week and ring dr to see whys going on with midwife. Feeling slightly impatient. But dr did say mid wife won't see me till after 12 week scan. I'm presuming as it's because it's #2

Missvaughan85 · 27/12/2013 22:42

Christ I feel late having mine. DD will be six when next one arrives. X x

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 22:46

Miss v sounds like we're in the same boat! Ah all age gaps can be good/horrific depending on the children so I wouldn't worry fingers crossed for happy siblings for all of us! Maybe it's because it's number 2 for me although friends who not long had them in same area same midwife before so who knows! Keep us posted if you ring up!! I will to! I wouldn't worry about tummy I really don't think anyone else will notice and even if they do I'm sure no one will actually ask!!

Missvaughan85 · 27/12/2013 23:12

I've been hairdressing for 13+ years and doing some clients for 10+ they'll notice and probably ask. Yeh I'll let you know how i get on. DD already knows I'm pregnant without actually telling her. She keeps asking. Bless her and I feel so bad that I can't say yes yet. Hate being in limbo. I just want to see midwife and then her the heartbeat. Hearing that is so reassuring!!!

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 23:27

I'm sure you know them better but i just couldn't believe anyone would ask! What if you'd just put on some podge??!! How bloody rude would that be!!! I think you'd be surprise and (talk behind your back) not ask you!!! Fingers crossed anyway!! Smile

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 23:27

#they'd

miserywaterfall · 27/12/2013 23:41

Going to a pub tomorrow for a friend's birthday and hoping to use my good old UTI excuse as to why I'm not drinking! Thankfully I'm not a hugely social person, so it's not really an issue but everyone knows I love a drink so it is a bit suspicious on the rare times we do hang out!

Have decided to tell parentals on New Years Day when we are round. I can't put it off much longer, haha.

Feelingfatty · 27/12/2013 23:42

Misery, good luck I uses Uti a few weeks ago!! Smile
