Finnable, I really hope it stops soon for you. It must be difficult to know what it think / do in your situation. Can you not see if the EPU will see you earlier, or at least advise?

OK, here's my list:

  1. Nausea - 8/10. Almost constant, with the occasional reprieve. Quite a bit of actual being sick today too. :-/
  2. Out of breath - 6/10. Not doing too bad, though if I'm tired it's worse. One of the reasons I guessed I was pregnant was how worn out I got walking back from the hairdresser the day before my BFP!
  3. Non drinking techniques - not relevant as I've not been anywhere I need to refuse.
  4. Snappy - 10/10. Poor DH! :-(
  5. Always checking loo paper - 10/10. Never stops. I bled at 20 and 24 weeks with DD, so I'll maybe be worse this time!
  6. Hubby wanting to talk names - 3/10. We've had a vague discussion about using the boy's name we chose last time, and how I'd like a girl to have my middle name, but we haven't even considered new names beyond that.
  7. Sure people are guessing - not relevant as I don't see many people as I'm on mat leave!
  8. Period type pains - 7/10. Come and go, but I mostly get round ligament pains and ovary ache.
  9. Farty/burpy monster - 11/10. I am appalling. Utterly gross!
10. Purchased books - 0/10. I have the Babycentre app like last time, but won't be buying any books.
DuPanettoneDuVinDuFromage · 26/12/2013 20:09

Ooh a list!

  1. Nausea 8/10 - just about made it through family meals yesterday and Christmas Eve but was retching most of the time and occasionally properly sick - the smell of the meat cooking was the worst thing, and unfortunately there was lots of meat! Then I had to endure the sight and smell of shellfish galore, mountains of foie gras, pate, pigeons, you name it! Think I managed ok considering, but today I have been rubbish - I've been in bed any time that I didn't have to look after dd or visit inlaws...looking forward to getting home so I can have some control over what food is being cooked in the house!
  2. Out of breath 7/10 - feeling exhausted just changing DD's nappy! I just want to lie down and do nothing all the time, and the effort to converse in French with the inlaws is making it even worse...
  3. Drinking 1/10 - we've told all the inlaws as they would have guessed anyway, with me normally being a big fan of the wine! Didn't tell anyone until after the scan with dd, so I'm feeling pretty nervous this time.
  4. Snappy 5/10 - I'm often pretty grumpy and don't think I'm any worse at the moment! New year's resolution - must be nicer!
  5. Checking 5/10 - definitely keeping an eye on things - see 3 above!
  6. Talking names 1/10 - we've had a brief chat in passing but think it'll be a while before we really get down to name-choosing. I spent weeks regretting the name we gave dd (I like it now!) so really need to think carefully!
  7. People guessing 1/10 - not a problem so far as we've told people, but it's going to be difficult when I'm back at work next week as I don't want them to know until after the scan.
  8. Period-type pains 6/10 - I've been having these since my period was due, the dull ache you get when you know your period is on the way. It's pretty disconcerting! But they're less noticeable now that the nausea is taking over...
  9. Farty burpy monster 9/10 - oh I am revolting! It's going to be even worse at 8 months pregnant though so we'd better all get used to it! Grin
10. Books 0/10 - I've got a book from last time which I read cover to cover, this time I'll probably just stick to googling (and MNing of course!)

Wow that was an essay! Time for bed now - am knackered! Happy Christmas to you all Xmas Smile

lucyfluff · 26/12/2013 20:10

Hello ladies,

Hope you all had a lovely xmas and chilled out a bit...I have read through and seen crazy family comments wtf is wrong with some people?!

I had a good day, nearly vommed in the brussell sprouts thoughConfused oops!!! Best pressie ever was finally recieving our wedding video from March (I was blubbing for pretty much the whole thing!!). Its made my xmas though Smile

Finn - just wanted to say with two of my pregnancies I have had brown blood and quite a bit...all was fine. You sound pretty calm about it all so try and stay positive Im sure all is fine x

I cant copy and paste the list from below but :
1 - 10/10 on paranoid knicker watch (even did a pg test tonight as dont feel preggers) !!!!!
2 - 8/10 bad tummy pain...convinced its food related as bloat after eating so started taking lactulose....
3 - 4/10 snappy with DH and havnt wanted to discuss anything baby related not tempting fate!!!!!!

My list would prob be longer but Ive rambled on enough!!!!! Grin Grin

FriendofDorothy · 26/12/2013 21:10

Merry Christmas everyone.

I have just popped on to say that we have more-or-less survived Christmas. My sister and I did really well and cooked dinner yesterday and it was delicious. There were a few tears about Mum but all-in-all we did OK.

Still not feeling very pregnant so still testing daily (just using up loads of cheapie OPKs) but farting like a trooper!

2beornot · 26/12/2013 21:29
  1. Nausea - 0/10... seems to have disappeared completely.
  2. Out of breath - 8/10... I to am a plus sized girl but I never used to be this bad.
  3. Non drinking techniques - 7/10...worked so far "I was out yesterday/am out tomorrow and can't handle two nights on a trot anymore!
  4. Snappy - 5/10... Only in the mornings (no difference there then)
  5. Always checking loo paper - 10/10... Every time since I POAS
  6. Hubby wants to talk names - 0/10... Much more nervous than me!
  7. Sure people are guessing - 5/10... Not sure (they might just be being polite) but we're having friends round on Saturday and I'm sure they'll guess (can't think of a good excuse for not drinking at home!!)
  8. Period type pains - 0/10... Nope nothing!
  9. Farty/Burpy monster - 7/10...No more than usual Grin
10. Purchased books - 0/10... Just mumsnet!!!
2beornot · 26/12/2013 21:33

Friend - glad you survived! I'm sure a few tears were inevitable but you got through it!!

mssleepyhead · 26/12/2013 23:53

What a mixed Christmas everyone's having...! Finn and Deus - thinking of you both and sending lots of positive thoughts. I hope you both start the new year with good news.

Misery - you made me laugh with your MIL story. I'm finding the whole IL situation really tricky. We just told them and they were kind of happy. Ish. But then it got into a big discussion about how they were going to have to change the food they were planning on cooking for us this week. Practical, but also made me feel like a nuisance...

My stats at 5+either 4 or 2 depending on AF or OV...

How are we all doing, marks out of 10:

1 - nauseous - 0/10 - none at all yet...
2 - out of breath - 5/10 - I'm so glad you guys have mentioned this - I thought I was going crazy!
3 - drinking = not a problem as I don't drink
4 - snappy - 7/10 - good job I warned DH about this
5 - always checking the loo paper - 10/10 - going to the bathroom more often for knicker watch too. Just noticed my MIL had loo paper with a pink pattern on it. Disaster.
6 - names etc - 3/10 - every time we start to have an optimistic conversation we stop each other.
7 - guessing - 3/10 - apparently my FIL guessed tonight. Seeing friends over the next few days and hoping I can keep it together.
8 - aches and pains - some days 8/10, today about 5. It's more stretching, bloating or occasional terror inducing sharp stabby pains than cramps.
9 - farting, and burping, and farting - 7/10 - not good.
10 - purchased first books - 1 - expecting better. Tried to buy more but got too saddened by the bits on miscarriage in the first chapters so decided to buy my head in the sand instead.

Right. That's me for the night! Good night all and happy Boxing Day : )

Shakshuka · 27/12/2013 01:01

Glad it went well friend, I'm sure you did your Mum proud.

misery your MIL sounds so horrible. My MIL is as mad as a box of frogs but her heart's in the right place at least

I got my Branston pickle! :) I made a detour on the way home from work (no Boxing day here, heaven forfend that Americans get more than one day off in a row) to an Irish grocery store. I had this thing for foods from home last time I was pregnant as well so I got marmite, proper oven chips, Alpen, weetabix, Revels and Walkers salt 'n' vinegar chips. I was so tempted by the hobs nobs but knew they won't last the evening...

As for the list:

  1. Nausea - 5/10... on and off and only handled by constant carb eating and fulfilling of cravings (see above)
  1. Out of breath - 8/10... I've been trying to keep up with the exercise (was doing the 30 day shred) but I get puffed out.
  1. Non drinking techniques - 10/10...not been a problem, just said I didn't fancy (10/10 for not being a problem rather than originality)
  1. Snappy - 5/10... Only if someone is standing between me and my food or has eaten what I wanted to eat
  1. Always checking loo paper - 10/10... When DH and I got married (in Israel) I had to go to a class on 'family purity'. Basically if you're orthodox Jewish you're not meant to do the deed while you have your period. Once you stop bleeding, you have a special cloth which you put into your lady bits and hold it up to the light to see if there's any blood. After 7 days of not seeing even the tiniest spot of blood, you can then go to the ritual bath before you can get back into the swing of things. That's what it feels like Grin
  1. Hubby wants to talk names - 0/10... No, but we have one already
  1. Sure people are guessing - 0/10... No, they all think we're past it Grin
  1. Period type pains - 0/10... No
  1. Farty/Burpy monster - 9/10...I disgust myself!
  1. Purchased books - 5/10... I downloaded a couple to my kindle
yummiemummieuk · 27/12/2013 03:09

travis your present comment made me chuckle so much! What did she choose for you? My dads ex wife (he's Ross from friends-3 wives later!) used to buy me and my sisters utter crap and her children TVs/ps3s etc do I feel your pain!
Thanks horace- well I've got a dating scan a week today when I should be roughly 8 weeks. ATM our flights are booked for 28th feb- I might try and make them earlier around week 13 mark if poss! How was your Xmas???

yummiemummieuk · 27/12/2013 03:20

I love lists! Great idea :D

  1. Nausea 8/10- never sick just very gippy a lot! All I fancy eating today is chips!
  1. Out of breath - 1/10- not really had this yet and I'm certainly no fitness queen lol but I am tired all the time!
  1. Non drinking techniques - 10/10...not been a problem, just said I didn't fancy (10/10 for not being a problem rather than originality)
  1. Snappy - 3/10, lovely bf might say more lol
  1. Always checking loo paper 4/10- a little but I'm feeling pretty relaxed about it all-I'm incredibly lucky I haven't had any tithing to worry about so far.
  1. Hubby wants to talk names - 0/10- awful! I have lists of names, boyfriend hates them all-he comes up with mean nicknames they would get called! We will never agree on this!!! Lol I love unusual names, he likes ordinary :/
  1. Sure people are guessing - 7/10 bloated stomach+boobs+gipping+ avoiding smoke and alcohol- yeah I'm a giveaway!
  1. Period type pains - 7/10- yep a fair both oping it's just stretching? I've felt very periody for last 6 weeks!
  1. Farty/Burpy monster - 0/10- no not yet, only thing I haven't got! Lol
  1. Purchased books - 4/10 - downloaded 1 on my kindle- started reading it with enthusiasm now I'm back into game if thrones :0
yummiemummieuk · 27/12/2013 03:23

3. Non drinking techniques - 10/10...not been a problem, just said I didn't fancy (10/10 for not being a problem rather than originality) I totally stole Shaka list (copied and pasted) and forgot to alter 3 lol

  1. Non drinking techniques- 9/10- I bought margarita mix without the alcohol in, think I had everyone fooled ;)
HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 05:02

Yummie, Christmas was lovely, thank you. It was DD's first, so exciting for us. She wasn't that bothered about it, but did enjoy ripping some paper and is enjoying her new toys. :-)

Number 2 won't need any presents ever as we are fully stocked!

I did spend the day trying to not be sick, which wasn't great, but at least the actual being sick waited til Boxing Day.

It must be hard for you being so far from home. I take it you're not tempted to have baby there so it'll have dual nationality then?!

Polkadot1 · 27/12/2013 09:03

Hi guys- I've also put on about 5-6 pounds which is a bit depressing, I'm a stone heavier than at this point with DD. got my booking in appt this morning- had hoped my BMI would've been lower - it was really coming on in the summer- but I gave up being good once ttc. Bit depressed now as it's downhill from here (uphil on scales!!)

babyspice2501 · 27/12/2013 09:03

morning girls! can I join this thread please? ive been lurking a little bit and I was on the december bus and got my bfp last saturday. I think my bubbas due 31st august.

I was going to try to hold off posting anything till i had my first scan but im really worrying about my pregnancy today and really needed to talk to you girls again as im only 4 weeks I think and no one knows in my family other than my oh obviously.

basically ive been getting really sore boobs and needed the toilet in the night between 2am - 5am. I was ill yesterday with some sort of sick bug (definatly wasnt pregnancy) even though I wasnt actually sick I felt as rough as anything and had stomach cramps at the TOP of my tummy and was really cold. I did nothing all day but rest on the sofa and feel fine this morning but my boobs arent as sore and havent needed to pee in the night like usual. I dont really feel pregnant anymore and im scared me being ill has killed my baby?

I guess what im really asking is, is it normal for symptoms to slow down at 4 weeks? I have a doctors app on 7th jan. I dont know what to do or think? please help xxxxx

mssleepyhead · 27/12/2013 09:13

Welcome baby, remember you from the december bus - lovely to see you here! I didn't really have any symptoms at all until about week 5 when my boobs started to get sore and as the week has gone on my nipples have joined in so don't worry too much if you're not feeling much yet. I'm nearly 6 weeks but still don't feel sick or anything. If you're really worried, get hold of some cheap dip pregnancy tests and keep using them in a morning. Today is the first day I haven't used them since getting my BFP two weeks ago - I found getting a darker and darker line to be so reassuring!

babyspice2501 · 27/12/2013 09:18

Thanks mssleepyhead, I remember you too! :) im just really worrying because my symptoms are slowing down? I think I might buy some cheapies on the internet, sounds like a good idea to me :)

I hope im like you and start to get more symptoms next week... god I hate early stages of pregnancy they are so worrying!

VJONES1985 · 27/12/2013 09:37

Hi all, can I join please?

VJONES1985 age 28, DC#1 EDD August 21st (but will be induced at 38 weeks due to T1 Diabetes)

RoseHoney · 27/12/2013 10:12

Hi babyspice Smile
Don't worry too much, I was the same, symptoms kept disappearing and i was convinced something wasn't right but my symptoms well and truly kicked in on Xmas eve (6+1) and I've felt horrid ever since so chances are your symptoms will appear in the next couple of weeks.

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 10:20

Baby, very few / no symptoms is very normal for early pregnancy.

Like Rose, my symptoms really only kicked in on Christmas Eve at 6+6, and I now feel awful, so I'm sure that you'll feel better (worse!!) in a few weeks' time.

Hi to our other newbie too. :-)

babyspice2501 · 27/12/2013 10:43

rosehoney thats made me feel so much better thank you

hungry I hope I feel awful in the next couple of weeks. It will make me feel so much better. My god that sounds ridiculous doesn't it! Lol!

vjones welcome!

HungryHorace · 27/12/2013 11:02

Baby. As I posted a week or so ago, it's reassuringly awful! :-)

BunnyBaby · 27/12/2013 11:28

Hello ladies, have been with family so slow to post, but have enjoyed keeping abreast of developments.

Thinking of those having a stressful time at the moment, and hoping more scans and reassurance for you quickly Thanks

Baby - Sometimes I have to get up to wee, sometimes not. Sometimes I feel queasy in the morning, other times later in the day. I think every day is different, so don't worry. I also felt tired and cold, until I attacked the cheeseboard the other day, so just think it may be metabolism shifting up a gear. Takes it easy, I am sure it's so changeable. Now feeling really nauseous most of the time unless just eaten.

  1. Nausea 6/10- just queasy when hungry, or first thing if no supper night before!
  1. Out of breath - 0/10- taking it easy and haven't swam for a bit, feeling lazy, but once up and out on a walk, I feel fine.
  1. Non drinking techniques - 0/10 - Nursed one large glass of red wine through two work parties, no one noticed I wasn't drinking it. Wine tastes corked at the mo, so not hard to avoid. Did have once glass of champers with christmas cake.
  1. Snappy - 2/10 - Was more stressed at the prospect of travelling to so many different relatives at christmas. We head home from my parents today and it has been a pleasure. DS1&2 (6 & 2) have headed straight into their bed each morning and given us a lovely lie in x
  1. Always checking loo paper 10/10- really happy with this one as lots of watery white CM and this was my first early PG symptom too. So pleased to see this
  1. Hubby wants to talk names - 0/10- we have quite a few from DS1 and 2 and obviously some girls names we would like
  1. Sure people are guessing - 0/10 have told all the family so far, and blurted out to a few friends - lol, just will wear looser clothes at work. Also bought load of maternity wear in Next sale, so work colleagues won't spot looser things from last time around
  1. Period type pains - 8/10- yes but light and feel more at night.
  1. Farty/Burpy monster - 0/10- no more different than usual
  1. Purchased books - 0/10 - but looking at 'your baby is x at x weeks' websites, and exactly 6 weeks today so pleased I feel rotten as baby is now likely to have heartbeat!
Ruggle · 27/12/2013 11:30

Hi Baby
Did your earliest symptoms coincide with when your AF would have been due? I think it's normal to have stronger symptoms around that time. I had bad cramps around mine and was sure AF was coming....but nope. Didn't get boob pain until 5ish weeks (I think) and had hardly any other symptoms (just occasional nausea) until Christmas morning...when I was dry heaving over the loo for 20 mins!
7+1 today...

MissHobart · 27/12/2013 12:42

I posted in the old thread! Will start again! Smile

I'm 5+3 today after mc last summer so am hyper conscious of every twinge! ttc side last January and have a GP appointment on the 8th where we were going to start arranging fertility tests!Hmm Looking forward to telling her!

I'm in the waiting limbo which is horrible! Just hoping this one sticks!

First day of last period was 19/11 so die towards the end of August next year! Yay! Grin

MissHobart · 27/12/2013 12:44
