Having a lot of firsts at the moment, including first time joining a forum, hello! Currently 6 weeks pregnant, first time, age 35. Absolutely convinced its all going to go wrong - in fact, surely even joining Mumsnet is tempting fate?! Love to join in your news and stories, really struggling not being able to speak to anyone apart from husband (DH I presume, must learn the lingo) x

lucyfluff · 20/12/2013 14:12

Welcome clarissa Smile dont worry you will learn the lingo!!

Starving here too - just stuffed tons of carrot cake! It was a nice treat after spending TWO hours food shopping and £200 lighter Sad Sad

Oh well at least its done, the kids have finished school and we can relax!!!

NameToBeDecided · 20/12/2013 14:15

ClarissaG, it's absolutely normal, in fact almost necessary to be convinced it's all going wrong so don't worry if you feel worried! You have us to speak to it all about now, we're quite nice really!
Welcome and good luck!! Xmas Grin

NameToBeDecided · 20/12/2013 14:17

You have us to speak to about it all now is what that should say - what a lousy use of the English language!!

sparkle101 · 20/12/2013 14:20

Hi ladies,

Graduate of the august 2013 thread here, now have squishy 4 month ds at home! Just wanted to wish you all luck.

No matter what the ups and downs (I had sickness all the way through and other things going wrong) when you get to the end it is so worth it.

Good luck ladies, I hope you all have an amazing Christmas, I'll have a glass of something for you and sit and feel jealous!!!

ClarissaG · 20/12/2013 14:26

Thank you Grin. I told a lovely London cabbie yesterday (ok, I didn't just blurt it out, we were kinda talking about Christmas and kids). It was great, kinda makes it more real. And NameToBeDecided, if good English is a prerequisite for this forum, I'm stuffed!

Polkadot1 · 20/12/2013 14:43

Had my early scan today at just under 7 weeks- saw the heartbeat so feeling happy! Welcome to the new folks xx

HungryHorace · 20/12/2013 15:57

Yay, Polka. How lovely. :-)

Hi to all the recent newbies.

I'm so tired this afternoon. DD is teething too, and she's struggling to have her bottle because it hurts and then she wakes because of it too. It's all tiring. But mostly I just feel bad for poor DD.

deuscat · 20/12/2013 17:37

Sparkle101 that's such a lovely thought. It's making me very excited for next Christmas when we will have our own squishy 4 month old Smile

Ruggle · 20/12/2013 19:20

Oh, good evening Nausea! You really saved yourself for the holidays....Thanks! Bleugh.

Minithemoocher · 20/12/2013 19:29

Goodness me you ladies sure chat a lot! I've only been gone a day and now I have no idea what's going on! Sorry to those that are not feeling great. I'm only 4+4 at the mo and not feeling sick yet, although I'm a bit off my food and quite sleepy. It's my first though so not sure what to expect. Oh and for the stats I'm 28. ZZZzzzzzzz

Tc80 · 20/12/2013 19:48

Hi thanks for the advice funkymonk and NameToBeDecided and so sorry for your loss funkymonk. Tried to speak to doc about progesterone today, didn't manage to but will try again Monday - even to just talk it through. If you have already been referred to EPU can you contact them direct the second time - first referral had to be through doc - does anyone know? Trying to stay positive but also feel like I need to prepare myself mentally - hope that's not a downer for those who are feeling more upbeat!

miserywaterfall · 20/12/2013 20:28

Evening all, happy weekend!

Absolutely knackered. Went for a few drinks with friends earlier, who knew sitting on my bum drinking orange juice could be so tiring! Got caught in shocking rain on the way home, absolutely soaked through, so probably not done much good for my cold :P Sigh, bed time soon please!

travispickles · 20/12/2013 20:50

Yes, am in bed already. It's the warmest place in our freezing house!! Soooo glad that term is over. Any other teachers out there feeling great about not having to teach hyper children for two weeks??

mssleepyhead · 20/12/2013 21:16

hello all,
been quiet a bit this week; i decided i needed some time off to get some head space and try and get myself feeling a bit more optimistic. i'm still testing every morning and temping too, but i got the guts up to tell someone today (other than my gp's secretary!). it felt completely unreal to say the words, but then EXCITING. this weekend i'm 5 weeks, so still really early, and still not many symptoms, really. bloating. lightheadedness when i stand up too quickly. slightly bigger boobs. but still desperate to feel more PREGNANT!
hello especially to all the newbies. glad to see some people joining me at the end of the month!
i think i might need to change my due date to 24th august. could that be done when the stats are next updated?
thank you : )

mssleepyhead · 20/12/2013 21:17

ps. travis i'm SO excited about not having to try and teach hyper/grumpy/distracted kids!!

Normalisavariantofcrazy · 20/12/2013 21:35

I think I'm hopping off the bus ladies.

Although feeling sick and tired I have started bleeding tonight.

Wishing you all well

Xx

HungryHorace · 20/12/2013 21:47

I'm sorry, Normal. I hope it's not the outcome you fear, and if it is the worst that you have a happy and healthy pregnancy in the very near future. xx

miserywaterfall · 20/12/2013 22:02

So sorry Normal sending hugs to you x
