usmama · 20/12/2013 00:38

anyone know much about cervical smears in pregnancy?
gp says fine to do as currently early on (8+1)- no fecking appointments with anyone that can do one until mid feb (15+1)
thoughts?

yummiemummieuk · 20/12/2013 04:12

My shoulders, shoulder blades, neck and top of back are killing today! :( ant

yummiemummieuk · 20/12/2013 04:13

*anyone else?

flymo79 · 20/12/2013 06:18

Hey USmama, my GP said not to have one, even though i was due for a smear. Some prefer not to risk poking at your cervix. Second opinion? Xx

lucyfluff · 20/12/2013 07:19

Usmama - In the summer I had an abnormal smear which needed a biopsy (I was so scared). No previous bad ones. After a long 8week wait it came back all clear and the consultant said I need yearly smears. I explained we wanted another baby and she said smears/colposcopys (indepth smear) are fine in pregnancy they just dont like to give treatment unless necessary.

Its a shame you cant get an earlier apt, could you swap GPs?? I would definatly have your smear done its not worth risking the wait Smile

In other news , I did my digi this morning ang got 2-3 weeks Grin

Polkadot1 · 20/12/2013 08:39

usnama is that the practice nurse you can't get an appt with? Is it worth trying to speak to a GP/ try to get a GP appt and ask if you can have one as early as poss in pregnancy?

Missvaughan85 · 20/12/2013 08:48

Gosh us no app till feb!!! That's crazy!!!
I'm on paranoid land again this morning, had loose bowels and then arm ache!!! Keep thinking its in my shoulder and feel a little yuck. Keep telling myself. I've got no cramps and no bleeding so all is fine!!! Argh!!! Can't cope!!! And I've got an 11 hr day filled with colours cuts and blow dries!!! My poor arms!!! I cannot wait to finish at 8 on Christmas Eve!! Perhaps Christmas Day will make me forget it all for a bit!!!

Hollyjokes · 20/12/2013 09:17

I went to bed last night at 8pm - what's happened to me?! Still feel knackered though and restless legs are driving me crazy!

Oh funky I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. I hope that your next pregnancy is successful. Take care x

Yummie, I was in Sydney and loved it. :-)

Don't forget to cancel your visa when you leave as you can claim back all the Super you've had to pay while working.

I feel for anyone with really bad sickness. Would you like to pass some my way so I actually feel bloody pregnant? It's doing my head in how not very different I feel. :-/

Miss, you've got shoulder ache because you're a hairdresser who's in early pregnancy and it's more tiring. Don't panic! :-)

We are away this weekend and I need to get my act together today and pack / sort stuff out. Joy. Can't be arsed, but we want to leave really early tomorrow to beat the traffic as our last few journeys down South have been awful.

DuPanettoneDuVinDuFromage · 20/12/2013 09:22

Ha yummiemummie! The problem is, she's actually lovely, just completely lacking in tact! I feel bad this morning for being grumpy about it last night...

It's 10.15 here in france and dd is still asleep Shock after going to sleep at 10 last night! Better get on with some present-wrapping...

NameToBeDecided · 20/12/2013 09:35

Tc80, please try not to worry. Spotting can be a sign of a problem, but confusingly it can also be perfectly normal in a healthy pregnancy as well. The best thing you can do is speak to EPU again if you are still worried, but I had brown spotting with my 2yr old DD! and she's fine.

I'm really sorry for your loss funkymonk, I've suffered the same. I don't want Tc80 to panic herself, please don't be offended or upset by my words. x

flymo79 · 20/12/2013 09:50

so sorry Funky, that sounds really horrid. I hope you manage to have a lovely christmas and can start afresh in the new year. thinking of you xxx

deuscat · 20/12/2013 10:03

Holly I'm the same with exhaustion. It seems to now be my main symptom. Yesterday I napped for 2.5 hours after work and then still had 7 hours sleep at night. Today I still feel tired and sleepy!! Blush

miserywaterfall · 20/12/2013 10:06

Morning all :)

Hope everyone's doing okay! Hungry I know what you mean about the lack of symptoms! I was expecting it to be a lot worse than this, but other than mild nausea, sore nips and ravenous hunger I feel the same. No wait, I'm way more emotional. I was almost crying at something on telly last night and I am usually way too cynical for that! We shouldn't moan that we're getting off lightly. All I have done is moan lately, haha.

Bought some Olbas oil stuff last night to help with my cold only to read it's not recommended in pregnancy. Nooooo, blocked nose it is I guess :(

Hollyjokes · 20/12/2013 10:14

I'm falling asleep already! Is it too early in the day to have a nap?

talulahbelle · 20/12/2013 10:19

Grr. We are supposed to be heading to the inlaws later, getting back on Sunday and then my family at ours from Monday.
The house is a tip and 'D'H is refusing to help tidy. Well, he's hoovered badly, failing to empty the hoover bag first so there's loads of dirt and dust still all over the floors.

I've told him I'm not going to the inlaws until our house is tidy. I'm also not doing housework whilst he doesn't, hence why I'm on MN. Looks like we will either be leaving very late tonight or he will be going alone.

deuscat · 20/12/2013 10:41

Holly I am resisting falling asleep at my desk. Soooo tired. 5 hours to drag myself through!

PinaColadas · 20/12/2013 11:56

I'm the same deuscat and Holly really tired today, second day in a row i've needed a wee at 4am and not got back to sleep afterwards. Had another works do last night that was ruined by 3 people asking me outright if I'm PG! These people are relentless. Roll on 3pm Xmas eve so I can have 9 days of peace.

Feeling fine today apart from just constantly STARVING!!

I nearly passed out yesterday which was a bit worrying, just had a really funny turn. I'm used to eating little and often at the moment but was visiting a supplier so didn't eat all morning then had a big lunch, wondering if it was that. I had to make some excuses and slip off to the loo to put my head between my legs!

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 20/12/2013 12:03

Can I join? Got my BFP this morning and have just snuck in with edd of 31st. Smile Grin NoWinefor Christmas for me!

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 20/12/2013 12:11

Forgot to add, I will be 32 on Monday and this is dc2.

Ruggle · 20/12/2013 12:15

Pina, I am getting really dizzy at times too, and occasionally feel like I'm going to pass out. Possibly from low blood sugar, though I seem to get it whether I've eaten or not....usually just on my walk to/from work.

Had a wave of nausea in a church this morning whilst watching kiddy carol concert... I was contemplating running out in case I threw up, but I'd have had to clamber over everyone else in the pew...so I just sat there looking a bit green......

FriendofDorothy · 20/12/2013 12:16

I am completely wiped out today too. I just have absolutely no energy. Hmm

HungryHorace · 20/12/2013 13:03

Yep, knackered and starving here too!

The fresh bread aisle in Sainsbury's just turned my stomach, of all things. And everything just smells weird!

Because I'm a paranoid wreck I used an OPK this morning with nearly clear wee (I'd had 2 pints of squash prior) and got a seriously dark line. Which has put my mind at rest somewhat!

Is everyone almost ready for next week? Don't think I could face the supermarkets next week!

Shakshuka · 20/12/2013 13:50

I caught a glimpse of my face in the lift going into work and I thought I looked totally shattered. Pale (with a tinge of green) and big dark circles under my eyes. This is after sleeping nearly 8 hours.

I've beaten my record and it's 8.45am and I've started on my lunch already. I'll have to go out and buy something at lunchtime Blush

I'm not vomity but I start burping when the nausea comes on. It doesn't help the burping that ice-cold coke zero really helps the nausea. The kids think it's hilarious as though I'm doing it for their amusement! I have my own office at work but you can hear everything between the offices so I let out what I thought would be a small discreet burp which ended up sounding like it came from a drunk tattooed lorry driver! I'm sure the guy in the next office must have heard!! It was awful. Blush

My boss gave out some lovely x-mas cards to everyone in the team. She wrote on them really sweet individual messages about the things she appreciates about each person. I found myself welling up!!

pina and dorothy I've been dizzy from the start as well. It's getting a bit better but that was actually my first 'sign' and why i went and tested!
