I keep getting funny aches, twinges and pains in my tummy that are making me a bit paranoid, and last night I was having pains in my left kidney! DH says I have a mild case of hypochondria ;)

flymo79 · 18/12/2013 12:05

yep, Pina, you have to take it one day at a time xxx

flymo79 · 18/12/2013 12:08

I'm currently reading - in another window! - a comments section following a review of "expecting better" and there is so much spite around what is the right and wrong way... I just don't know if I can cope with any kind of parenting advice, let alone pregnancy advice!! Is anyone else reading what to expect when you're expecting or anything similar?

Choccywoccydodah · 18/12/2013 12:14

So dr just rang, negative. Was def there, but hcg very low for what they'd expect.
She said she didn't think it was necessary for the test next week but if I feel I want to go then go.
I'd literally minutes before just piac and dipped in my last hpt and ov test. Ov test very dark, hpt still light so very confused.

Anyway, good luck to you all, nice speaking with you, thank you for the support. Hope your pregnancies go without too much sickness or troubles. It'll fly by.
Have a great Xmas and an exciting new year xxz

Yes its definatly a personal choice for scanning, unless you have ever been through a loss its difficult to understand and I will openly admit being quite niave about it before it happened in October. Each to their own and fingers crossed our babies are all ok Smile

Flymo Im not reading that, but really struggled last time with peoples opinions about pregnancy care and decisions, Im not really into debates over things like that (too laid back) and left a fbk group because of it!!!

flymo79 · 18/12/2013 12:18

oh choccy, my thoughts are with you xxxxxxx

PinaColadas · 18/12/2013 12:20

I'm really sorry Choccy All the best for your next pregnancy xx

lucyfluff · 18/12/2013 12:30

Sad choccy - sorry it was bad news. I expect the tests you did at home are showing low levels of hcg still.

Good luck for next time im sure it wont be long until it happens for you. Take care Smile

deuscat · 18/12/2013 12:34

So sorry choccy Thanks

miserywaterfall · 18/12/2013 12:34

Take care Choccy x

Apart from the view on scan safety, my own experience of mmc was horrific enough without having had a scan. My bean stopped growing before 6 weeks (or was a blighted ovum), but I knew nothing of this until I started to miscarry at 11 weeks, 4 days before my first scan was due. I cannot imagine the pain of having reached the scan at 12 weeks only to be told there was nothing there, so in a way I think I was lucky. You go to the scan with such high expectations, joy and excitement. If I'd had an early scan I would still have chosen to let nature take its course, but then I would have spent several weeks knowing I was no longer carrying a growing baby, but still suffering morning sickness and all the usual pregnancy symptoms....which for me would have been much worse.

It is of course personal choice whether or not to have a scan, but just make sure it's an informed choice. You need to know that at 6 weeks sometimes the baby just isn't big enough to be seen, so better to wait until at least 8 weeks (for a reassurance scan)....otherwise there is this risk of not being reassured at all, and the necessity for another scan, or several.

Ruggle · 18/12/2013 12:39

Oh Choccy, I'm so sorry!

miserywaterfall · 18/12/2013 12:48

Flymo I'm avoiding all things concerning parenting advice. I will take advice from people I know personally, but that's about it! Some people can be way too judgemental!

Finnable · 18/12/2013 13:02

Choccy - so sorry about what's happening to you. Sending you love via the internet. I hope you catch again soon, and it's a really sticky one.

Pina - my husband thinks I'm an utter hypochondriac too, I think he's wondering what he's gotten into! Last night I made him look at my nipples and tell me if he thinks they've gotten darker... He just shook his head and chuckled!

PinaColadas · 18/12/2013 13:10

LOL! Finnable I've done the same, and he had copped a feel to see if they feel bigger (they do apparently, but it took a good few minutes to decide) ;)

They will never understand I don't think, I do think he thinks it's all in my head.... Sometimes I do too!!

Polkadot1 · 18/12/2013 13:25

I agree getting an early scan is just personal choice. For me it's a no brainier, as if it's bad news at least I'll know then, and not go through more weeks of excitement only to have the rug pulled under me. If you get a heart beat on the scan your m/c rate falls dramatically, so although you can still have one, the chances are very much lower, so if it's good news, it's very reassuring.

bronya · 18/12/2013 13:41

Hugs to anyone else still bleeding. I've got more, darker, feels like AF. Scan first thing tomorrow. It will be good to know for sure I think. Best of luck to everyone!!

travispickles · 18/12/2013 13:45

Bleuuurgh today... Just had my flu jab. Anyone else had it? She warned me I might feel a bit fluey for a few hours. I really hope not! Anyone else had this?

PinaColadas · 18/12/2013 13:52

Good Luck Bronya x

Travis, Flu jab was mentioned to me last time but no one has mentioned it yet, maybe MW will at booking appt, probably will be too late by then!

Polkadot1 · 18/12/2013 13:53

Really sorry Choccy and fingers crossed to the others who are bleeding

sillymeagain · 18/12/2013 14:02

Hoping I'm the last one (as there are far to many today) but I'm jumping off now too. Lots of heavy bleeding making things pretty obvious what's happening.

Thanks for all your support. Hope to add myself to another "due" thread sooner or later.

Good luck to everyone still on here. I really hope you go on to to hold your babies tight I in your arms. There is no greater feeling. Can't wait for it to be my turn agaim when the time is right.

flymo79 · 18/12/2013 14:09

oh no! lots of love sillyme xxxxx

Normalisavariantofcrazy · 18/12/2013 14:14

Oh I am so sorry that so much sad news is happening on here Sad

I agree about scans being personal choice and also with regards listening to advice, it's easier to ignore if it's not your first. I found with my first the unsolicited advice was rage enducing!!

Go with your heart and you'll likely be right!

I'm only 4+4 but already the stomach is churning. I hope I don't get a hefty dose of morning sickness this time round!

CountdownBegins · 18/12/2013 14:20

Havnt been on for a few days and sad to see that some people havnt had the best news.

So sorry choccy- hoping for good news to you in the near future.

Bronwyn and Silly- I remember how horrible it was wen I was bleeding and not knowing what was going to happen- try and take it easy and I hope you have lots of support over the next few days.

Ruggle · 18/12/2013 14:21
