Riblet · 14/12/2013 07:08

Oh, forgot to say that I used the 4Head stick quite a lot during the headaches - sometimes worked, sometimes was a bit rubbish but worth a go if you don't want to take painkillers. I drink a lot of water anyway so don't know if that is a factor but have had to cut down later on in the day as now if I get up for a pee I can't get back to sleep no matter what the time, and tiredness then makes the headaches worse. That's one thing that has really got to me- I used to be able to sleep anywhere at any time! Hmm

Also big thanks Lady for sorting out the list!

Lmf679 · 14/12/2013 07:40

Riblet, me too with the sleeping thing, DH had been to his Xmas party and got in at 2am, I was then awake well until about 3:30, the cat just woke me up as it's his usual feeding time and now I'm wide awake again! Highly unusual for someone who used to sleep well past 11am at weekends. Think it's our bodies getting used to functioning on less sleep?

CleverOl10 · 14/12/2013 08:18

Fingers crossed for a headache free day.

Mine was so bad that I went to bed at 7pm last night and am still in bed now! Think the headache was due to tiredness and a stressful week at work. It seems to be ok this morning but haven't eaten since yesterday lunchtime so need to find something that stays down or I'm sure it will be back.

LadyGoneGaga · 14/12/2013 08:23

Sounds like they are being thorough which is good, Panic but sorry you've got extra worries. Hope the other tests go well. I've not heard of cords going in strange places before - i don't think it's something they check for at this point on the NHS. Hopefully it's one of those things that will right itself. Have added you to the list. Just this once Grin.

We told the children this morning. I showed DS a picture from the scan and asked him what he thought it was. "A snail?" he says! But I explained and they are both really excited. DD gave me a massive hug. So sweet. These moments are what make parenting all worthwhile.

Hope everyone has a nice, relaxing day. I have our running club Xmas do tonight and so I might have to come clean as think they are all wondering why my attendance at training has fallen off a cliff! But will be nice to put on a dress and some make up.

Ok so I've been stalking everyone in the fbk group (love putting faces to people) - but can't see any bump owners near Gloucester....surely someone must be in my neck of the woods ?! :)

LadyGoneGaga · 14/12/2013 08:53

I'm in Leamington spa, Bumblebee - so not a million miles away.

Bumblebeesmum · 14/12/2013 09:15

Ah ok I assumed it was a million miles away as I've never heard of it (but my geography is pretty horrendous) - apparently an hour :)

summerbaby2014 · 14/12/2013 09:20

There's a Facebook group? How do I find it?
Although I don't want to join anything publicly visible until I've finished telling people :)

cjbk1 · 14/12/2013 09:20

how does one get an invitation to the FB group please?

panicmechanic · 14/12/2013 09:21

Thanks Lady! Both FMC and NHs picked up on the problem. It could be because of my age and previous issues but i am feeling confident tho. The doctor at the fmc was amazing we spent nearly an hour and a half with her and she explained everything to us. I didn't realise that the founder there developed the nuchal fold test and pioneered cvs so I think between them and my lovely consultant at Kingston hospital I am in good hands! I am knackered today and we have a drinks party at home ...

summerbaby2014 · 14/12/2013 09:22

I'm also interested to hear where people are from Bumblebee. Anyone in SW London?

hackneybird · 14/12/2013 09:23

Message your email to lady gone gaga and she'll add you to Facebook

bellygazing · 14/12/2013 09:26

Who do I need to email to be added to the group? Nearly ready to go public...

LadyGoneGaga · 14/12/2013 09:46

The Facebook grup is closed and private so no one can see anything. It won't appear on any Newsfeeds or group lists etc that are visible to anyone else.

If you PM me your email address I can send you an invitation.

mylittlel · 14/12/2013 10:52

talking about locations) anyone from worcestershire?)

LadyGoneGaga can i email you as well with regards to fb group?!)

MinaLeeds · 14/12/2013 11:02

I ended up having a great time at the party last night. Also spent the evening dodging friends who knew about pregnancy and friends who didn't. I told one person and she told ALL her friends so I had someone come up to me and say 'congratulations on your pregnancy!' right in front of one of my closest friends who didn't know. I had to fudge and say 'oh the pregnant lady is upstairs' (luckily there were two of us) to which she responded 'oh but I was told there were two of you!'. Angry

Note to self: with DC2, do NOT tell this friend. She simply can't keep her mouth shut! I know it's cos she's excited...but it's MY news bob damn it!

mylittlel · 14/12/2013 11:04

Ladies sorry if my question is a bit daft, i have routine visits (next one at 16 weeks) with community midwife is she going to be there during the labour?

mylittlel · 14/12/2013 11:07

MinaLeeds oh no, a bit awkward situation..hope your friends will understand why you did it in the end (when you tell them)

When we just told our family, I said that i dont want anyone else to know about it as its too early, few days later my mother-in-law said "oh by the way i was discussing pregnancy with my work colleagues"...i thought i wold go ballistic, thankfully i didnt..

Bumblebeesmum · 14/12/2013 11:12

Little I think it really varies by area and midwife. My community midwife for example only does the community stuff plus home births so as I'm not having a home birth there is no chance of her being at my labour.

Bumblebeesmum · 14/12/2013 11:14

Mina that would piss me off. Now I'm known to put my foot in it a fair bit but if someone reacted with no she's upstairs I'd have known immediately to kick myself & keep quiet!

Redcliff · 14/12/2013 11:32

Sorry - just relised I wasn't there - have added now

I am SW london!

Lazybones80 · 14/12/2013 12:12

I'm new here. Due 5th June. Could I be added?

Redcliff · 14/12/2013 12:21

Welcome Molly. Twins sounds very exciting.

Panic - glad to see you back!

I had a horrible headache yesterday - went to bed as soon as I got in from work. DP brought me a couple of paracetamol and a juice and that and a lovely nap did the trick. Have spent all morning doing reserve at Argos and picking up this afternoon and think that is pretty much all my Christmas shopping done.

GillyBillyWilly · 14/12/2013 12:40

I'm also interested to know what happens at the 16 week midwife appointment and how long it might last.... Can anyone tell me?Smile
Mine's on wednesday!
