She dipped a stick into my pee and said it was fine, took my blood pressure, told me she should be giving me bloods results, but that they weren't in yet, asked if I had any questions, and then asked if I wanted to hear the heartbeat. It was very very quick!

MinaLeeds · 13/12/2013 17:38

Spent most of today making lotions and potions for a pop-up shop I'm doing this Sunday and somehow not only forgot to eat anything since breakfast, but managed to cover the kitchen in creams before throwing my toys out of the pram and going to eat my (by now stone cold) meal. This wouldn't be a problem but I'm supposed to not only be at a party this evening, I'm also supposed to be bringing pastry. :( What if I don't want to leave the house?! Just want to sit on the couch and watch trashy American TV. :(

I'd forgotten about the headaches from my last pregnancy but in the last few days...urgh back with a vengeance ! The only thing that made a difference to me last time was drinking enormous amounts of water - I'd wake up regretting it any time I forgot. It's like being hungover for me - only without the fun 1st!!

summerbaby2014 · 13/12/2013 19:13

Thanks Riblet for adding me :)

But I think the last couple of updates were based on an old version as I've now disappeared :(

In other news, so glad that the Christmas party is over. It was last night and I've been so tired today I might as well be hungover! Managed to dodge most of the non-drinking type questions and just told a select few people.

Bring on the weekend! Spending tonight eating chocolate santas and hopefully pizza later :D

summerbaby2014 · 13/12/2013 19:14

PS headaches are never fun. I suffered a lot before getting pregnant but have somehow escaped during pregnancy.
Those cooling strips are always good and non-medicinal
xx

MollyDefoe · 13/12/2013 19:18

Can I join? Currently 11+3, with EDD 2nd July - BUT we're having twins, so they're almost certainly going to arrive in June (if not before - eep!).

I completely sympathise with the agonising over buggies. We already have one DD (currently 19 months), & when I first found out I was preggers again, I was v organised and bought a 2nd hand Phil & Teds. But then we found out it's twins! There are only a few models that do side-by-side twin buggies with a "jockey" seat for a toddler - but none will fit through our front door! I'm putting my head in the sand about the logistics until I'm a bit further along. 12-week scan on Tues...

SleepyNess · 13/12/2013 19:40

Welcome Molly! Just out of curiosity, how did you find out prior to 12ws? Did you have an early scan or were you suspicious and got the nhs scan?

Back to headaches.. I'm have taken 1g of paracetamol everyday this week, I'm so worried that's too much for baby but I couldn't possibly call in sick - this week was hell at work.. I'm addicted to 4head stick but that's not enough.. Already in bed due to headache. Hardly spoken to DH this week! I really really hope this stage will pass by Christmas..??

Big day tomorrow. Telling family!! Big dinner chez nous! :) Head better behaves...

mylittlel · 13/12/2013 19:51

SleepyNess good luck tomorrow, im sure everyone will be very happy for you :-)

chestnutmare · 13/12/2013 20:02

Hi guys! I'm glad it's Friday! Nice relaxing weekend planned, lunch with friends tomorrow which I'm very much looking forward to Smile

I had work christmas parties yesterday and today, not quite as much fun for me as usual! Was totally knackered a few hours in, left at 5pm yesterday and 4pm today, while everyone else was knocking back the wine/beer etc!

I'm kind of relieved to hear some of you have been getting headaches. I don't normally get them but last week had one almost everyday. Luckily I've not been too bad this week. I thought maybe there was something wrong, but maybe just a normal pregnancy related thing?!

Bumblebeesmum · 13/12/2013 20:10

Hi Molly - what about a sling with 1 newborn & twin buggy for the 2? Your toddler might be happy to walk some of the time? Although I have an 18 month old & am struggling with the logistics of 2 so have no right to make suggestions!! :)

MollyDefoe · 13/12/2013 20:55

SleepyNess - Groupon had a deal on early pregnancy scans, so I foolishly bought one at 8+3! Wish I hadn't, really: it just made me have a complete stress-out for 2 weeks, until I cracked and paid for ANOTHER scan at 10 weeks. When there were still 2 happy healthy foetuses there at the 2nd scan, I started coming to terms with it a bit more. I know there's still LOTS of risks with a twin pregnancy, and that when we go for our 12-week scan, 1 might not have made it - but I feel in a better headspace at the moment.

BumbleBees - yes, I think that's what we'll probably have to do. It makes it quite hard for 1 person to take all the sprogs out at the same time, though! I'm also hoping to have a c-section, so for the first 6 weeks DP will have to do the carrying and the pushing! Ah well...

Vickyvix · 13/12/2013 21:14

Great news on your scan lady

Welcome molly best of luck for your scan on Tuesday.

I'm with you ladies in the headaches, have had one all day. Was working from home this afternoon and couldn't keep my eyes open, had to have a snooze which is most unlike me. Mainly just been lounging on the sofa since about 2pm!

Panic if you read this I hope everything went ok for you, I'm keeping my fingers crossed

jaykay987 · 13/12/2013 21:26

Good luck sleepy. We're telling on Sunday! Eek!!!!

Panic - hope you're ok!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 13/12/2013 21:30

Hi Molly, welcome and good luck with your scan!

DH just checked in from his work do so now I can chill with David Bowie and wrap the rest of these Christmas presents I need to send to Germany tomorrow.

jaykay987 · 13/12/2013 21:42

I was just wrapping everything whilst watching Christmas films! :-)

DH is out drinking tonight. I'm trying to find things to do to keep me awake until I have to go pick him up from the station!

I thought this tiredness was supposed to stop soon? I've already had a 20min afternoon nap today! :-)

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 13/12/2013 21:47

Jay, I'll be asleep by the time he's home, I reckon.

They're out in Belfast and there was an explosion near the clubbing/restaurant area so wanted to make sure he wasn't anywhere near.

LadyGoneGaga · 13/12/2013 22:07

Summer I had Gestational Diabetes in my last pregnacy so they will do a GTT at 16 weeks this time around. Really hoping to avoid as it was a PITA last time. Apparently it's 50/50.

Beewitched that sounds really scary, glad he's ok.

I am so with you all on the headaches. I've been having really dreadful ones since getting pregnant and nothing touches them. Hoping they might go as the hormones settle down a bit in second tri.

Right...I think I've detangled the list. Can I ask people to please try and get the latest version when copying and pasting as several updates were lost. Fair enough it's a big group and is fast moving but you just need to read back the last couple of pages and have a quick check.

Also feel free to add yourself. There isn't a magical list fairy who's "job" it is. So if you've been missed off or something is wrong then just change it! Just make sure to use the latest version. Smile

panicmechanic · 13/12/2013 22:58

Hi ladies, thanks for wondering about me! I didnt want to post yesterday until I had my second scan and consultant appt this am. Firstly the FMC were amazing yesterday (the scan was so thorough) i am low risk on harmony but unfortunately the cord has grown from an unusual position on the placenta so I have to have some additional testing to gauge how it is working. I am now booked in for a cvs to sample the placenta. It could completely right itself but there is risk. I also did the combined test today as a precaution and will get the results on tues. So not bad news or good news but I am much more confident than I was this time yesterday and I thought posting then would be a downer! So a defo no no for me flying next week so it will be me, downton and a tub of celebrations! So pleased everything is going well for everyone. I am not on the list my new EDD is 19th June (my bday)

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 13/12/2013 23:04

panic I'm glad to hear the harmony results were ok, sounds like they are checking you out thoroughly so that's good. Hope the CVS gives a good result!

jaykay987 · 13/12/2013 23:09

Yay! Good to hear from you panic. FX you get the inform need from cvs to help stop any further worry.

I'm also glad fmc scan was good. Mine is Xmas eve and I'm scared! I'm fully expecting the blood not to work (high BmI) so we'll prob end up relying on the nuchal and not getting any harmony results.

summerbaby2014 · 13/12/2013 23:10

Good luck for your next lot of tests panic. I hope things right themselves. Keep us updated

2blessed · 14/12/2013 01:22

Sorry to hear about headaches. I've been ill and feeling quite sorry for myself. Awful headache yesterday and I don't usually suffer, nor did I have them in last pregnancy. Ds has been ill too, dr prescribed ABs which seem to be working but made him super clingy.
Was gutted to miss a christmas/leaving party tonight but feeling really toasty in bed.

Riblet · 14/12/2013 07:01

Good to hear from you Panic, and good luck for the next lot of tests.

Re headaches- I had them for the whole time I had nausea but they seemed to have eased off now. They were almost worse than the sickness though so sympathy to anyone suffering atm. Actually, saying that I have woken up with one but i sometimes grind my teeth in my sleep which could well be the cause of that.

Welcome Molly - it's good to have another twin mum on board! Smile Was it as much a shock for you as it was for me?! Good luck for the scan - I think we'll always worry, maybe twice as much now, but despite being classed as high risk the likelihood is that everything will be fine. Hope all goes well!

I got in from work last night to find an appointment letter to see the midwife at the foetal medicine unit next Weds - am assuming its 16wk app due to Xmas as will be 15wks exactly by then. Was wondering what they do at that app so thanks for the info. Smile
