Mylittle absolutely not I was about 18 weeks when I felt no 1 & many are much later. I think it's normal to be a bit earlier with no 2 but also even though the feeling is v faint I am completely sure I know what I'm feeling. With no 1 you're not sure what you're feeling for so every wind spasm movement of anything you're not sure if this is it until the feelings get stronger & stronger & you're certain - but that build up can take weeks. The 1st feeling is usually a bit like bubbles very gently popping low down.

Bumblebeesmum · 24/12/2013 13:09

Hackney I feel your pain - with no 1 I got a lot of 'are you sure?' From mil about 1 small glass of wine. I'm pleased to be having our selfish little Christmas on our own tomorrow so I can neck the champers (well my couple of glasses of Buck's Fizz anyway!!) Just keep telling yourself you won't be pregnant forever & you will be treated as a human again soon :)

ItsaWonderfulLifeofGru · 24/12/2013 13:37

The snow Angela sound lovely panic. Hope you are spoing yourself today.

bumblebee I am 14+6 and have kicking too. Didn't feel anything til 16 weeks with DD1 and 14 weeks with DD2.
Definitely nobody worry about not feeling anything yet. In my notes is a date for the start of 'quickening' as 22 weeks. Quickening is a old midwiving term for when the mother feels the baby start to move.

Hi, I just want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas! We had our Christmas lunch (v. traditional, potato salad & Bratwurst) and unwrapped presents and now we'll drive up to MiL.

The storm isn't nearly add horrendous as predicted so that is good.

Everyone have a great time and lots of love to you and your families.

Liquidambar · 24/12/2013 16:16

I wish I could feel this one. Felt ds at 17weeks ans I was hoping I would feel it earlier this time but I guess my anterior placenta is not helping.

Today was a bit hilarious. I nearly had forgotten the portuguese way specially in smaller towns. This morning I went with my mum to the lical café, butcher, hairdresser and local shop and of course everyone already knew I am pregnant. They all congratulated me, commented on whether the I was showing too much ot too little, whether the shape of my tummy was a boy or a girl and touched my tummy. It was funny but weird Smile

We have been cooking and we'll celebrate in the evening.

Hope everyone is well.
Merry Christmas! !

Biffle · 24/12/2013 16:58

Think I might have overdone it a little today. Spent the morning shopping and the afternoon in the kitchen and am now shattered and sore. All be worth it tomorrow though. Happy Christmas everyone x

HannahC1989 · 24/12/2013 17:18

Merry xmas everyone! Hope you all have easy stressless days!
Iv just had my 16 week app... anybody else got there heartbeat rate??
Xxxx

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 24/12/2013 17:32

My baby's has been between 145bpm and 155bpm at my appointments.

chestnutmare · 24/12/2013 19:13

I had my 15/16 week appointment today. The midwife didn't check for the heart beat, just updated my notes with all my blood test results, checked blood pressure, checked my pee and discussed breast feeding a bit. That was it!

Nothing now until the 20 week scan on the 31st January then another midwife appointment (24 weeks) near the end of February.

Hope you all have a fab Christmas! Xmas Smile

Redcliff · 24/12/2013 20:22

mylittlel · 24/12/2013 21:01

Merry Christmas everyone! And remember, it's not about what's under the tree, but more importantly, who's around it Smile

panicmechanic · 24/12/2013 21:05

Merry Christmas to everyone and their bumps. Hope that you all have lovely, stress free days tomorrow.

wispaxmas · 24/12/2013 21:31

It's nearly Christmas Day for you lot in the UK! I've been tracking Santa online with NORAD, it's very exciting :). My brother and his wife and their two boys are driving up to toronto from upstate New York fit now and I can't wait to show my nephew Henry some of the videos of them tracking Santa.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

hackneybird · 24/12/2013 21:36

Very true little.

This is our first year that DS understands the idea of Santa, so it's been lovely looking in the night sky to see if we can see him coming......we left milk out for him to drink and hung up his stocking before he went to bed.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow, everyone.

superlambanana · 25/12/2013 00:28

Toilet unblocked, house tidy, family arrived, sticky toffee pudding made and stuck together with toffee sauce where it fell apart .

Merry Christmas everyone! Grin

MarlenaGru · 25/12/2013 06:29

Merry Christmas everyone! DD has been awake for half an hour already and I am doing the mean parent act of keeping her upstairs until the rest of the house is awake Xmas Grin

Poetschild · 25/12/2013 06:57

Merry Christmas, everyone! I'm lying in bed waiting for the rest of my family to wake up. Ah, Christmas is so exciting! Can't wait until next year (fingers crossed! ) I'll be beside myself.

Anyway, have a lovely day and take it easy when you can!

GillyBillyWilly · 25/12/2013 07:27

Merry Christmas! Can't wait to see DS's face when he sees his unwrapped wheelbarrow loaded with prezzies under the tree!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 25/12/2013 09:40

Happy Christmas, my dears!

I'm about to chase hubby out of bed so we can unwrap presents - my MiL is prepping the veg and I'm on Turkey duty later on.

Thank goodness I ordered everything from M&S, I'm so lightheaded I can barely stand Xmas Grin. Can't wait for Christmas with the little one next year!

CleverOl10 · 25/12/2013 11:32

Merry Christmas ladies and bumps!

Sad The smell of turkey isn't going well.

Stacks · 25/12/2013 11:37

Merry Christmas all!

cjbk1 · 25/12/2013 17:08

I had still having had a massive strop today but it was justified; as I've said on sept 12 thread we've been rubbish at planning Christmas but I insisted on ordering food for Christmas dinner at least this wasn't without faffing but the order was made and I sent dh to collect yesterday (do you see where this is going?) so somewhere along the line we ended up with no dessert! he can't find the invoice how convenient and thought we cld eat already-started Yule log or Christmas cake for desert! that's not desert and I had no soft fruit so I cldnt replicate the pavlova myself ConfusedConfused so no alcohol and no desert Shock
