Bee so glad they're finally taking you seriously! Let us know how it goes.

Bumble sounds difficult. We might be seeing some friends over holiday and I know they're going through infertility treatment.. I'd gladly not even mention my pregnancy but also don't want them to think we're hiding it.. Not quite sure how to approach it. Tbh I don't even know them v well but they are dh's old friends..

I'm at my in-laws feeling shattered and sick. Lying down on the sofa is all I can manage at the moment.. What a loser!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 23/12/2013 20:04

LadyG I'm glad things sound so much more positive, as someone pointed to me a few threads ago 1:333 is around a 99.7% chance everything is fine so try and enjoy Christmas.

I hope your train is not too delayed and that you make it home and can relax a bit when you get home.

CleverOl10 · 23/12/2013 20:09

Ah just caught up on the day's chat. Especially nice to read Sarah's message. Must admit I do enjoy this forum as I don't have any pregnant friends who want to chat about stuff like you guys!

Not had the greatest day today. Threw up first thing (first time in days, was hoping it had gone) then set off on an epic journey from Cheshire to Norfolk for Christmas. Got as far as the peaks before having to stop and lose my breakfast Sad and the rest of the journey wasn't much better. Torrential rain and gale force winds meant it took nearly 7 hours. Sad Glad we staying put for over a week.

Oh and as for kiddies going to school at 4, I think it depends on the child. My DS is 3 (may birthday) and will definitely be ready next September. He's outgrowing nursery already and trying to read!

Woah long message, sorry! Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 23/12/2013 20:14

I should think you'll be fine at 9am, Jaykay. I think they save the later in the day ones for people they are fitting in last minute and as Dr Kypros see's you as well you have to wait for him to be free as well as the sonographer. 5am is horrid though!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 23/12/2013 20:21

Kids in my country go to school to 6/7, but then I'm also absolutely allergic to the idea of uniforms. Xmas Grin

Hope everyone travelling for Christmas has a safe journey - sorry you had it rough, clever. We're exchanging presents tomorrow as it's Christmas Eve and then heading up to MiL's so DH can have his traditional Christmas. We weren't going to leave until late but with the extreme storms heading our way we'll now have to cut Christmas Eve short and leave early. Xmas Sad

Bumblebeesmum · 23/12/2013 20:21

Vicky - I think most are receiving just the combined risk result it will just be a lot lower for some people compared to yours. My combined result is 1/30,000ish and I'm 28.

Bee - don't worry about schools etc kids vary a lot & there are lots of options for example if you think your child is quite 'young' maturity wise & might struggle you can do part time school until they turn 5. These things are always a worry but answers just sort of become obvious nearer the time. I am November so v old in year & was extremely bored at nursery (so I'm told I don't exactly remember) & started school already able to read & write etc so was bored then too for quite a while. Advantages & disadvantages to everything.

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 23/12/2013 20:26

Bee - the whole school system here is so different I can't really compare it and I find it quite confusing; even though I work a lot with school children and have given lectures/talks on how to pass A level exams. But I've always liked the Montessori/Waldorf approach and we are very lucky to have a Steiner school nearby. But then that's years and years away and I should really concentrating on getting this baby out of me fully cooked and healthy and then worry about the rest!

Bumblebeesmum · 23/12/2013 20:41

Bee it's natural to worry & think ahead. We'd like to move but don't really know where to (!) my family are South East & London but we don't have much money (our 3bed house is £90k) so that's not an option - our job situation is complicated (husband is elected & we're quite political so would want to live somewhere we could continue that but timing has to be done with husbands term) my husband lived abroad for years (he speaks fluent Japanese but Japan is not somewhere that appeals to me to live & my German is rusty at best) I'd like to live abroad but that idea is terrifying & now I feel we have to make decisions fairly soon before our toddler is off to school! But then I've always been an over thinker - maybe it's not natural we're just weird :) :)

Lottery anyone?! :)

panicmechanic · 23/12/2013 20:42

Lady that is brilliant but sorry that you had to wait for so long. I have been there 3 times and never met Dr Kyros but have been told he is great (a friend saw him privately throughout the entire pregnancy). Really pleased you were happy with the scan - I was too. Hope your DH has made you a nice dinner. I just had a few little tears my DH sent me a photo of my DD doing snow angels she looked so sweet

Vickyvix · 24/12/2013 00:01

lady that's great you have had some good news at last.

And marlena congrats on your results :)

ohcluttergotme · 24/12/2013 07:32

Lady brilliant news on your results, sorry you had such a wait.

Bumblebeesmum · 24/12/2013 08:28

Woohoo I've got kicking! So exciting - makes the feeling so rough matter slightly less :)

CleverOl10 · 24/12/2013 10:30

That's so exciting bumble. Got to admit to being a little jealousEnvy I'd love some kicks. 16 weeks today and am ready to know baby is still in there! (although sickness is kind of proving that! ) Don't get my 16 week check til 17.5 due to Christmas. Do they listen to the heartbeat at this one?

summerbaby2014 · 24/12/2013 10:45

Kicking!? How many weeks are you bumble?
I can feel slight cramps and discomfort, nothing that I can identify as kicking yet.

mylittlel · 24/12/2013 10:53

Bumblebeesmum wow, amazing!) i wish i could feel kicking soooon )

Bumblebeesmum · 24/12/2013 10:58

Sorry didn't mean to sound like a brag it was just such an incredible surprise to wake up to. I was about 18 weeks when I felt 1st (I think - it's hard to remember tbh but was def after that 1st routine mw appt) - I'm 14 weeks tomorrow this time.

Redcliff · 24/12/2013 11:13

Kicking - how exciting ! I think I didn't feel DS for a while after the 16 weeks so won't hold my breath . Just had an appointment with my consultant - he seemed happy with everything and I had another quick scan so got to see baby again - his legs were kicking all over the place.

Biffle · 24/12/2013 11:18

We are same Bumble and have felt some fidgeting too :) can't remember when I felt either DD for first time but think the scar tissue from caesareans has made it all more sensitive. Best Christmas present x

superlambanana · 24/12/2013 11:33

Goodness SleepyNess, where are you from? That maternity package sounds amazing!! The O'Brian my old job was SO much better than in this job, which is basically the bare minimum Sad Will have to scrimp a lot I reckon.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today as am feeling really nauseous again and trying to keep my breakfast down. Typical that it should be today when I've got loads to do - need to tidy the whole house, get two guest rooms ready, make starter and dessert for tomorrow, deliver cards, and finish wrapping presents. DH will help but he's already hindered by giving me five minutes' notice for all his family's presents to be ready as he was going over, so now we have to do an extra trip over there which we don't have time for! Grrr. I did point out that he finished work last Thursday while I finished at 10pm last night!

superlambanana · 24/12/2013 11:34

O'Brian?? I think that was supposed to be maternity!!

MarlenaGru · 24/12/2013 11:52

Lol to o'brien super

Very exciting bumble I am 14.5 weeks and I can definitely feel flutters but am still not entirely sure it isn't wind Xmas Blush

4 more hours at work (including one of lunch with DH and DD) and then I am finally on Xmas holidays. I am not having much luck today as I accidentally deleted a database I have been working on for weeks and had to get IT to restore it. Idiot!

mylittlel · 24/12/2013 12:10

im 14 weeks and 4 days and cant feel anything yet, should i be worried?!(

superlambanana · 24/12/2013 12:22

Oh big granny knickers. Our only toilet is blocked and my family will all be here in a few hours. And I need the loo!!!

MarlenaGru · 24/12/2013 12:27

Oh no super!
Don't worry at all little I didn't feel a thing until past 20 weeks last time. It really is hard to distinguish flutters from tummy rumbles unless you know what you are feeling. I think the second time it is all so stretched already you feel things more.
Oh and I forgot to say thanks vicky in my previous post

hackneybird · 24/12/2013 12:56

super I really hope you get your loo fixed - mare.

I am in a FOUL mood today. Shattered from a long drive up north yesterday and a bad night's sleep last night (DH snores and I forgot my ear plugs). Feeling very sick and tired.

We are staying with my in laws, and they are lovely, lovely people, but they are driving me MAD. MIL is speaking to me as though I am an invalid and making a fuss about everything I eat, including commenting on the fact I asked for salt at the dinner table last night. FFS there's nothing wrong with salt in v small amounts.

Their house is soooo hot and airless so I have a pounding headache. I just want everyone to fuck the fuck off (except DH and DS). Hiding in our bedroom at the moment. Will have to go downstairs and put a brave face on for the sake of DS.

I know I am being totally unreasonably and hormonal, but I have serious pregnancy rage!
