Great to hear of the lively beans on scans. Is anyone still to have their scan?

Im still taking pregnacare and drinking milk if i fancy it but not religiously.

I didn't realise they would listen for heart beat at 16 weeks appt? I have mine on Thursday.

Hope everyone is ok? Im feeling major guilt as my kitten was spayed today and she's currently wandering around trying to get the vet collar off. she is not impressed and keeps giving me puss in boots eyes. bless x x

ItsaWonderfulLifeofGru · 16/12/2013 18:55

Congratulations on all the scan results today.
Regarding hair, I have definitely noticed that my hair is thicker and glossier than I ever remember it being with my two DDs.
The old wives tale is that boys give beauty and girls take it away. I still think this will be another pink bundle, but will just have to wait and see!
Can't decide whether to find out sex or not. I would love to have a clear out of small baby girls clothes if I am not going to need them again.

Biffle · 16/12/2013 19:06

MrsCharlie my scan is on Wednesday so currently riding the roller coaster. Took antenatal vitamins all the way through with my girls and will do this time too.

MarlenaGru · 16/12/2013 19:17

I wonder what vitamins the enormous bar of crunchie chocolate I can't stop eating has in it. I really am going to be a house by June. Just praying the breastfeeding makes the weight fall off again this time.

Great news on the results summer and the great scan cherry
wife of (now with complicated new name Wink ) I had a girl last time and was glowing in comparison to this time. Predicting a girl again this time. Based on a friend's guess from the nub at 12 weeks.

summerbaby2014 · 16/12/2013 20:25

You've got all the major food groups in a crunchie - chocolate, crunchy pieces, what more could you need :)
The same applies to this galaxy caramel for sure

Liquidambar · 16/12/2013 20:42

Great news on the scans! :)

I am feeling better. Thanks for all your kind words. I am not really sure what happened, but I was so emotional this morning Blush Biscuit

Went to my first pregnancy yoga class after work. It was great, and I am feeling very tired. Hopefully will have a good night sleep. Are you still having vivid dreams? I am continue to have the most bizarre dreams every night.

Tomorrow will be DS' Christmas party at nursery. I can anticipate more tears :)

Bezzabelle · 16/12/2013 21:27

Quick question.... Now it says on nhs website that Stilton is safe to eat in pregnancy, is everyone going to?? Still seems somehow wrong to eat mould. God, do I love mould!!

wispaxmas · 16/12/2013 21:37

I'm another one who has gotten lax on the vitamin front. I take them when I remember, but it's not even every other day at this point, I took them every day up until about 13 weeks, though.

Wonderful news about of the good scans, ladies. Are we wrapping up all the 12 week scans now? If 12 weeks today puts you at 30 June, there can't be many more left. Roll call?

In other news, I'm very very very excited to be flying to toronto tomorrow!! I'm going to get a white Christmas unless it warms up in the next week. I might not be around as much on mn, but I'll pop into the face books group now and again. Grin

wispaxmas · 16/12/2013 21:39

Bezza, I won't be eating Stilton, but it's because I just don't like it! If I did, I'd stuff my face with it, I'm sure. Go for it!

mylittlel · 16/12/2013 21:44

im def playing safe and eating only cheddar)

SleepyNess · 16/12/2013 21:49

I love Stilton but I'm not sure about having it.. MW said don't, although she's no gospel of course. Might have a tiny bit over Christmas..

I made dinner for the first time in almost 2 months!! :)

wispaxmas · 16/12/2013 21:57

I don't understand being unsure if the nhs says it's safe?

ItsaWonderfulLifeofGru · 16/12/2013 21:57

I am definitely going to have some Stilton on return to the UK. And going to have baked camembert or Brie with nice bread for dipping on New Year's Eve as having a little get together.

mylittlel · 16/12/2013 22:03

can we have brie and camembert?

jaykay987 · 16/12/2013 22:07

Only if boiling. otherwise no. Why oh why are pregnant at Christmas??!Smile

Wickedwiggle86 · 16/12/2013 22:12

Congratulations on all of the scans today :) I'm still waiting for mine- not until Thursday at 3! I'll be 13 weeks; Sussex nhs are mean!

mylittlel · 16/12/2013 22:21

jaykay987 what do you mean boiling? boil cheese? Shock

Biffle · 16/12/2013 22:32

Wicked - Portsmouth aren't much better I'll be 12w5d when I get mine on Wednesday!

Re cheese I didn't realise we could eat Brie, Camembert or Stilton ... Christmas cheese board might not he so bland after all!

wispaxmas · 16/12/2013 22:35

Jaykay, it doesn't need to be bubbling to have killed the listeria, just 2 minutes at a temperature of 158F is enough to kill it. Usually a baked Brie of Camembert will be in at 350 for 15 minutes or so, so it. Would be well safe!

And a word to the wise, you're more likely to find listeria bacteria on fruits and veggies than you are to find it in cheese, so be sure to wash them all really well!

Wickedwiggle86 · 16/12/2013 22:37

biffle it sucks, doesn't it?! I made myself a countdown list and stuck it next to my advent calendar to try to make the waiting more fun- tick off the day, eat a chocolate!

MarlenaGru · 16/12/2013 22:38

My sil has two children born in late September so has never been pregnant at Xmas. That is good planning... Apart from the extra year of nursery fees for both of them!

I am just so thankful we are over the first trimester for Xmas. It would really suck if we were sick whilst everyone is enjoying their dinner.

Good news about the food groups. At least I didn't follow it with the biscuits my mum brought upstairs!

superlambanana · 16/12/2013 23:12

Ooh just thought, will have to repost the dates as mine has moved from 27th to 23rd! Will do it when I get round to getting the computer out - if anyone beats me to it feel free to change my date!

Redcliff · 16/12/2013 23:14

Summer - I know your right as am in the uk and not much sun to be had. I was eating fortified cereal with milk so considered myself covered as both have vit D as I understand it but will check the amount in them and then decide re supplements . Took folic acid for a really long time as this baby took several years to show up so perhaps I just felt a bit sick of popping the pills :)

Vickyvix · 16/12/2013 23:27

Great news on The lovely scans :)

I have just come back from a work do, was given a starter of pâté (there was no alternative) and ended up eating all of it because it was so yummy - oops :/

surely one portion is ok?

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 16/12/2013 23:28

biffle Only eat the brie if it has been baked and is piping hot!

I've been stuffing my face with Stilton, love Ossau Iraty and Gruyere, I love Iberico and Manchego cheese, as well, so it still makes for a nice cheese board. I do still miss my Dolcelatte and 'raw' Camembert, though!
