I'm another one with lank hair! I have naturally quite Curley hair and its gone all flat and fuzzy, so frustrating!

I'm feeling the worry, the lady that scanned me last pregnancy told me I was having a boy.... I gave birth to a girl! Then when I had my mc earlier this year she scanned me again, she was very insensitive and was wrong again about something.
I just don't want to have her today or be told they can't see anything again.

Vickyvix · 16/12/2013 09:40

Ah cherry try and stay positive, I understand your worries and really hope you have a different sonographer and a very positive experience.

Same for you too super and jessie I am looking forward to reports of lovely bouncing babies wriggling about!

redcliff every time I see a lady with a baby on board badge on the tube I always wonder if she's one of you lovely MN ladies - I always give a kind of half smile just in case - I bet I must look like a nutter!

I am counting down the days left at work, I really don't want to work this week, so unmotivated and can't wait for a bit of time off, already ridiculously late this morning.

Riblet · 16/12/2013 09:45

Morning all,

Good luck to those having their scans today. Jessie and Super - my symptoms practically went and I didn't 'feel pregnant' for a few weeks before 12wks but the scan showed I most definitely am, with 2 of the little beggars, so try not to worry. It's difficult to believe in something you haven't actually had proof of (other than a line on a stick) but you'll be seeing it (or maybe them, lol!) on the screen soon enough. Excited for you! Smile

Sarah -I'm like you and seem to be able to get away with washing my hair less, which is great, Looks better too, as does my skin, but nails are breaking left right and centre, which is annoying.

Seat - hope all goes well at EPU - great that you can feel the movement though, must be reassuring.

Re. walking- must admit I haven't done anything recently, not particularly due to being pg but because of the crap weather, dark evenings and weekends being spent trying to get the house sorted before June. Must admit, haven't missed it as have no inclination to go out in this weather! Went to visit parents at the weekend and the wind and rain were horrendous - went to do a bit of shopping and nearly got blown over! Did spend a while in Matalan though and got some leggings, stretchy tops and a couple of jumper dresses- think they will become my winter maternity uniform! Wearing some today and it's so nice to get out of too-tight jeans!

Jealous of talk of Baby on Board badges - I want one but don't live in London. Mind you, MIL does and DH has a couple of friends who work for TfL so might see if someone can wangle me one Wink People here seem to be quite good at giving up their seats but I can imagine I'll just look fat rather than pg for a while yet!

Liquid - you're not a failure at all! As Marlena says, there's no telling when this one will arrive (assuming not a particular reason repeated) but even if it is early it's not your fault and it'll come when it comes. Don't feel bad about something which may not happen and you can't help anyway!

Hope everyone has a good week Smile

superlambanana · 16/12/2013 09:46

In waiting room. Gulp. Still can't shake the I'm not pregnant any more feeling.

Bumblebeesmum · 16/12/2013 09:53

Liquid when did your 1st baby arrive? I know statistically you're probably higher 'risk' but try not to stress. Lots of us will be higher risk for 1 reason or another, my weight, someone's age whatever. My weight is my fault and I'm not blaming myself so you certainly shouldn't!

There are many women who have premie babies who go on to have full term but even if not it's not necessarily going to be as bad as you fear. My colleague has had a baby boy at 29 weeks (I had to calmly try & force her to leave as I knew she was in labour I think she didn't!!) anyway her little boy went home really quickly & is completely perfect.

Bumblebeesmum · 16/12/2013 09:54

Good luck Super Jessie and anyone I've missed!

jaykay987 · 16/12/2013 10:06

good luck for those with scans today.

Liquid - that must be difficult to have yet another worry. FX your doctor/MW can provde some comfort for you.

Riblet - I think you can email them and they'll send you one regardless of address I think (or if you know someone more local to London you could have it posted to them?)

Redcliff · 16/12/2013 10:13

Clutter - am going to try the "clearing out for new presents" line - I plan to clear at least one bag for life worth of stuff and I might try and put another box worth of stuff in the garage and if he doesn't miss it after 4 weeks off to the charity shop.

I know what you mean about not quite believing it - dispute 4 (!) scans and an ever increasing tummy I can't really get my head around it and wonder if I have made it up.

Liquid - I remember thinking I had let every one down because I didn't have the home birth I had planned as DS came 3.5 weeks early. That feeling stayed with me for a while but looking back I am just happy we were all safe.

NessieMcFessie · 16/12/2013 10:31

Morning All,

Hope everyone is doing well...Good luck for the scans today...and hope you feel happier soon liquid.

Pretty eventful weekend here - staff Christmas party - of course I was the only one totally sober. All very dramatic - Ambulances, affairs, drunken antics - from a room full of teachers!

Much more importantly I have decided that I am having a reaction to Pregnacare (the vitamins - I don't know if you get them in the UK?) Everytime I take them I am sick within about 20 mins - and if I don't take them I am not at all.......very strange. Am really looking forward to heading to the UK next week and talk it through with a midwife and my Mum!

superlambanana · 16/12/2013 10:37

Baby waved!!!!! SmileSmileSmile

I cannot describe the relief...have stopped crying now. They gave us four pictures Smile

jaykay987 · 16/12/2013 10:43

yay! very exciting!

NessieMcFessie · 16/12/2013 10:48

Smile - Yay super!

mylittlel · 16/12/2013 10:59

NessieMcFessie i had sickness after pregnancy care, had to stop taking them as just cold bare being sick all day long and since i started taking just folic acid its a bit better

Riblet · 16/12/2013 11:01

Yay, so pleased for you Super Grin

Nessie - sounds like a very intriguing party!

Thanks Jaykay, I'll see if i can get one sent to MIL for me!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 16/12/2013 11:08

Good lck to those of you with scans! Jessie, hope you had a great scan and enjoyed seeing baby bounce around.

I use the Weleda stretch mark oil and LUSH Dream Cream for my skin as I am getting lots of little itchy rashes and my skin has gone really dry. Works well so far, and it's a good way to wangle a rub out of DH.

Cherryjellybean · 16/12/2013 11:09

Yay that it fab super!

I was very sick taking pregnacare so I stopped too. I think its quite common as I have heard a few people say it makes them sick.

NessieMcFessie · 16/12/2013 11:22

cherry do you take anything else instead? I am worried about taking nothing....

Lmf679 · 16/12/2013 11:35

Very happy to hear your scan went well Super

East Londoners, i'm also east, near Stratford, looks like there's a few of us? I'm starting pregnancy yoga in stratford in January.

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 16/12/2013 11:49

super Yuhuuu, that's fantastic, I'm so glad it as a great experience for you!!!

I've bought a Doppler. I wasn't going to, but since the midwife has had an easy time finding the little heartbeat since 14 weeks I reckon I should be ok .

I have to admit that I don't really look at people when I'm on the Tube so I probably wouldn't notice a baby on board badge - how big are they?

SleepyNess · 16/12/2013 11:54

Hi all!

The weekend was lovely, there were some tears and lots of smiles and even more pregnancy/birth stories!! It was nice having everyone in our place but I felt completely exhausted and went to bed at silly o'clock yesterday.

Not feeling great today either.. Headache still here (day 10 I think) and generally feel very very dizzy.. Nearly passed out in the tube and even at work feel like I need to grab onto things just in case..

Some mentioned backache - oh yes!! My back is a mess, sometimes wake up with terrible backache in the middle of the night. My back has always been a mess but I didn't expect to feel it so soon.. I think it's lack of excercuse combined to changes in posture (it's really bad at the moment...must try harder) and sleep positions (I usually sleep on my tummy but that's increasingly uncomfortable...).
I'm planning to start pregnancy yoga and water aerobics post new year, fingers crossed I'm well enough by then!

Sorry for a long post and moans, very happy for everyone with positive scans!!!

Oh and I think I managed to find NCT course that suits us in terms of dates, etc. It takes place over May, the last session is about 2 weeks before my due date, i hope thats fine! Oh and they have a men only session - I'm really intrigued about it! :)

Mitchell2 · 16/12/2013 11:54

Oooh lmf I'd be interested in hearing about the pregnancy yoga - is it during work hours? The only ones that I have found closer to me (near Victoria Park) is during the day.

super super happy re your scan. Fantastic news Smile

SleepyNess · 16/12/2013 11:56

Sorry about all the mistakes. Phone + busy day at work = somewhat frantic me :)

Bumblebeesmum · 16/12/2013 12:19

Nessie - have you tried taking it at a different time of day? You might be more sensitive at certain times. Also I think they're supposed to be after food? Anyway I'm sure your mw can tell you whether to take something different or not to worry

Redcliff · 16/12/2013 12:21

Super! That is great - I am so happy and the baby waving sounds like s/he was going "it's ok Mummy - I'm here"

Imf - also keen hearing about the yoga. I went from a 14 to a 16 last pregnancy and am still a 16 so would like something to help me on my path.

My back has been really sore - I read that it's because your centre of gravity is changing. I have now got a foot rest at work and it has made a real difference.

Lmf679 · 16/12/2013 12:24

Mitchell and Redcliff it's at 6.20pm on a Monday, I'll find the details and PM you
