OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
superlambanana · 15/12/2013 22:11

Ah yes it was you I was thinking of Cherry! Smile I am writing Christmas cards and I so want to put "from Super, DH and bump" as a way of telling people but I can't until tomorrow... Luckily last post is Wed so I should be okay...

superlambanana · 15/12/2013 22:12

That's second class last post in case anyone is worrying!

Redcliff · 15/12/2013 22:22

Doing DSs room is so the way to go - he has so much junk that not sure one a day will do it for now but might give it a go when it's more manageable.

Good luck for scans tomorrow - mine seems ages ago.

seatfor5 · 15/12/2013 22:25

Good luck with all the scans tomorrow :)

I had mine on Friday where they have found a little bleed under the corner of the placenta so I have had a bit of a crap weekend worrying as I googled it! - Google is not our friend ladies. I have had brown discharge all weekend so am hoping that that is me passing it, I will call the EPU tomorrow to see what they think :) Good thing is I can feel this little bud moving about so at least i know he is ok! Just I need his/her house to get better!

Sarah my hair is falling out :( I have spoke to my hairdresser about it and they have agreed and told me t get hair thickening shampoo.

Now most of us are in the second trimester I hope it starts getting better for us all xx

Biffle · 15/12/2013 22:34

Sarah my hair has gone the other way! I used to go around 5 days without washing it but now I have to wash it every other day as it is sooo greasy! No fun as it is so thick it takes about a hour to dry

superlambanana · 15/12/2013 22:45

Seat obviously check with the doctor first as I'm not sure if it's okay in pregnancy, but doctor recommended kelp tablets to me for thinning hair once - might be worth a Google try?

chestnutmare · 15/12/2013 22:50

My hair has been in a much nicer condition over the past month or so! Hope it continues! I can go an extra day or row before having to wash it and it feels a bit thicker and healthier. Xmas Smile

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 15/12/2013 22:50

seat I've been using this shampoo and it's made my hair really nice and glossy - DH has been stealing it and his thin hair has perked up, as well!

I can get away with washing my hair only twice a week now, normally I need to wash it every other day - fingernails are getting better, as well, though not being at work helps with that, too.

Bumblebeesmum · 15/12/2013 22:53

Jessie I was asked for urine sample after my scan - I didn't realise but it wasn't a problem they just gave my a pot you'll have a full bladder. Depends if they do your bloods etc after your scan different areas do things at different times but I wouldn't worry about taking it with you either way

Vickyvix · 15/12/2013 22:53

panic fingers crossed for your cvs results.

Also a SW Londoner :) nice to know there's a few others

Completely shattered today and I haven't even done much, feel like I could sleep for a week.

Parents have now been told, as have siblings and work - just friends to go! I might even try out my baby on board badge tomorrow Grin

Good luck to all with scans tomorrow, will be checking in for updates and have fingers crossed for all

Redcliff · 15/12/2013 23:20

I am in East London and badge has worked pretty well on the tube but not so well on the overground train. Hope it works for you Vickyvix - how odd to think I might see you on the tube and we wouldn't even know about our shared love of MNs June club.

hackneybird · 15/12/2013 23:30

Redcliff I'm East London too (although actually Waltham Forest, no longer Hackney) also a couple of others here from this side of London I'm sure. Mitchell2 and Mtmd I think.

Have had a lovely weekend. DS was in his nursery play on Friday afternoon which was just lovely, and yesterday an old friend's DS' birthday party at which it was fab to catch up with the gang. Today we went to a wee children's show in Stratford which we adults found a bit dull but the children LOVED it which of course is the whole point.

I am definitely starting to feel better - I still get very tired and need to have a lie down after lots of activities, but a huge improvement on the days when all I could do was lie on the sofa looking and feeling grey.

panic I am thinking of you with the Cvs test - really pleased to hear from you, as a fellow Fmc attendee.

Hope everyone else is well and getting ready for Xmas.

ElizaB3 · 15/12/2013 23:43

My hair can also go longer between washes now, skin is better too actually.
Just one week of work to get through before 3 weeks off over Xmas, woohoo
Seat must be very reassuring to feel movement now. Anyone else feeling flutters?

Redcliff · 15/12/2013 23:54

Hackney bird - how exiting that there may be a few of us eastenders here. I have taken DS son to shows in Stratford before and we also belong to the kids film club at the picture house - £2 for him and free for me! Even with the pick and mix thrown in its still cheaper than one ticket at the local cinema.

jaykay987 · 16/12/2013 05:58

My hair has changed for the worse. It looks so greasy! I used to wash twice a week. Now my hair looks greasy even after Ive washed it!
I bought that shampoo beewitched. It makes my hair look clean after washing (although very flyaway). Still needs to be washed the next day though.....
Dry shampoo doesn't work as it's not actually greasy - just looks dark and limp at the roots.
Hope it changes for me in second trimester - I can't put up with this for the next 6months! Urgh!

Mitchell2 · 16/12/2013 06:30

Up Redcliff and Hackney I'm east and I think that Gin is as well...

sarah - totally with you on the hair. My hair used to need washing every day but now its a lot dryer so every second day. I too am loving it!

Good luck for scans today and your CVS results panic.

speaking of panic - I'm 13+5 today and am starting to panic as my boobs are not hurting, the bloating is going down and well I am generally feeling a lot better (apart from this pesky jetlag so my tiredness I think is a bit of that as well). I am starting to worry that its all been a bit of a lie and actually I'm not preggers! I have had nothing unusual down there, and everything was dandy at my scan last week but surely I am not entering into the preggo glow stage? now I have probably jinxed myself and will end up being poorly for the rest of my week o/s

Poetschild · 16/12/2013 06:50

Sarah, Biffle and Jay - I've been having the same problem with my hair, it seems so lank.
Beewitched - I've seen that shampoo. I've been using the bump and me lotion as I found the smell easier to cope with than the Palmers cocoa products. It can be difficult to get out of the bottle, though.

ohcluttergotme · 16/12/2013 06:50

Morning ladies,
Redcliff my ds normally hangs on to everything, bits of broken toys, freebies from comics, every bit of tat and it's been driving me mad. Also full of toys he never touches.
I sold it to him as we could box up toys to put in the attic to make room for new toys that Santa may bring. He bought this then of his own accord said he wanted to give to his baby. Then he got really into it and everyone was going to baby!
All his boxes in the living room I asked my dd to sit with him while he had his tea and I gutted these without him being there, it was full of party favours and stuff and is now away Smile
That was the best he's been and think the thought of new toys coming did it!
Good luck Smile

I was up about 5-6 times for a wee through the night, seriously thinking I may give up fluids as my body obviously makes its own

MarlenaGru · 16/12/2013 06:58

jaykay I am with you on the horrible greasy looking hair front. And I am spottier than a teenage boy. Add the ever increasing bulge and I am a glamorous sight.

Well done on the clear out clutter. I feel like I have achieved something after yesterday. I am still aching from it this morning though!

Jessiebaba · 16/12/2013 08:19

Good luck with your scans today super and cherry Xmas Smile

Mine is at 10.50 and I physically feel sick with nerves Sad I've been desperate for my scan day to come around for weeks but now all I can think about is all the horrible things that could happen. You're right seatfor5 google, is not our friend!!

Thanks for all the replies re the urine sample - I knew you ladies would be able to put my mind at rest about that.

superlambanana · 16/12/2013 08:24

I feel the same Jessie. The thing that's scaring me most is that last night I suddenly didn't feel pregnant any more, and I still feel like that this morning. I got so stressed and upset on Saturday night I'm worried I've hurt the baby. It's like an intuition type feeling and it's scaring the hell out of me Sad

Jessiebaba · 16/12/2013 08:35

Aw super what are we like? My friend (who knows I'm pg) tells me that this is just me preparing for all the worry that the little bean will cause me when it's actually here.

I've not had much MS (well I've never actually been sick although I have felt unwell) and few other symptoms too so I know what you mean about how the lack of symptoms can be worrying. Then I equally freak myself out that you can have all the symptoms of being pg and not actually be pg! GOOGLE IS THE DEVIL!!

I'm sure everything will be great with your scan...although I know it's easy for me to say that! Not long for you to wait now Xmas Smile

Liquidambar · 16/12/2013 08:38

All the worries are normal. I think most of us felt the same, but remember the odds are in your favour. Good luck! !

rant alert! I'm feeling so tired; have a headache and feeling massive!! mainly feeling bloated, it's not even a nice tummy... just a blob.
Feeling emotional as well. A very good friend had her second baby girl yesterday evening. Suddenly I got this horrible feeling that I will never have a full term baby and that this little one will be a premature baby as well - makes me feel such a failure.

Sorry Sad

Mitchell2 · 16/12/2013 08:50

Liquid feel positive, and also I don't know how preterm your previous one was but as you say the worries are normal!

Baking babies isn't an exact science and sometimes they just want to bake a little less. My friend has had two and both came at 36-ish weeks (the cusp of 'term'). They had no explanation, babies while small were and are perfectly healthy. On the flip side sometimes they take a bit more and don't want to come until after 42 weeks.

MarlenaGru · 16/12/2013 08:51

Aww liquid chin up! Was the reason for your previous baby being premature likely to repeat itself? You are definitely not a failure for having a premature baby! I have a friend who had her first at 30 weeks and her second was a few days late!

Good luck today for the scans. I know it is very hard not to worry. There is so much emotional investment into the process that it can seem overwhelming. I was a blubbering mess the second I saw the heartbeat on the screen. I think I was beaming for the first time in well over 6 weeks. As someone said above (forgotten who, sorry!) at this stage the odds are definitely in your favour.
