Blimey - I can't keep up with the babies being born on this thread! We need to get an update of those that have emerged, and those of us who are still waiting!

I have done bugger all today, after my worst night's sleep so far last night. Woke at 2.30, managed to get back to sleep at about 5.30 before DD woke at about 5.50 needing a poo! I did go back to bed for about 1.5hrs after she went to preschool, but have spent most of the day feeling like a space cadet and just eating crap to keep awake.

I am currently obsessing over my ebay account as loads of stuff I am selling finishes today, so that's the extent of my excitement for today! I am a total anti-hoarder so am desperate to post all the stuff that sells and drop everything else off at a charity shop.

I think baby may have finally dropped a bit as my bump does feel heavier, and also I don't think I have felt as many high up movements as I am used to, but I have felt some wriggles - just not as intense as usual. Is that normal?

Congrats to those with new littlies and sympathies to everyone still left in the waiting game!

Good luck violet fingers crossed you meet your lo soon.
Xx

meandbumpy · 10/12/2013 15:39

Good luck supermans, I didn't get to use the birth pool as my mw didn't believe I was progressing as quickly as I was and so they couldn't fill it in time in the end.
It's worth mentioning that apparently the mws are trained to work to strict time scales and so can be reluctant to accept you're in established labour until the last minute in order to prevent them having to intervene. This is what happened with me, I was very quiet with contractions so hard to read and along with the sickness and keytones in my urine made mw think things were going to slow down or even stop. Next minute i was hung over the bed mooing and could feel a little circle of hair peeping out!! So whatever happens do try to communicate as best you can to your mw, you will know what your body is doing but they might not be able to read you at all!
I remember her trying desperately to ascertain why I felt ready to push but I couldn't explain, I just knew it was going to happen.

SupermansGirl · 10/12/2013 15:44

Baby Delilah was born at 1.39pm weighing 7.1lb! No drugs a little rip but nothing bad. They have to take her away for 4 hours because shes grunting but apart from that shes okay! Massive head of dark hair x

Roselau · 10/12/2013 15:48

Good luck mogz, super and violet!! baby snuggles soon for you all!!(did I forget anyone? they are just popping left right and center!)

alyssa I'm glad you're starting to feel better! I had no idea that existed either. pretty scary as for sure you'd blame all these symptoms on post-birth.

Had a shit shit sleep. Kept waking up drenched in sweat. I'd get up to dry off, but my bed was still wet so super uncomfortable. Anyone's had that?

Dr appointment this morning 38+3. I will ask him about it. I also have really sore hands like if I had arthritis. Probably preggers carpal tunnel. Not comfortable.

Other than that, I think I'll be preggers forever at this rate...

extracrunchy · 10/12/2013 15:52

Congratulations Super!! Smile

BetterWithCheese · 10/12/2013 15:59

Oh wow Super- that was super fast!!! Congratulations!

BetterWithCheese · 10/12/2013 16:00

Is alright to shout - I WANT MY BABY!!!! Ahem, I feel better now.

itsliz · 10/12/2013 16:26

Aww, congratulations Superman! Can't believe how quickly that all happened! Glad you're both doing ok though Smile

It's been really interesting hearing what everyone is calling their new babies actually. There's been such a variety so far but I'm loving the mix of unusual and traditional names!

beth27123 · 10/12/2013 16:34

Congratulations to all those who have had their babies and good luck to those still waiting! It isn't so bad (promise)!
After being admitted at 4cm we spent 16 hours labouring, only took gas and air at 6cm and quickly moved to diamorphine!
Our little Willow was born after an hour of pushing, one small tear but no stitches!

Stom91 · 10/12/2013 16:55

Wow congrats super why a fantastic couple of days for you baby obviously wanted to celebrate the engagement with you!!

I am sooo jealous of al these babies!! I can't even look on the fb group without getting all huffy! I'm 38 + 3 and I've had no inkling that baby wantes to come any time soon :(

I've really had enough

Made some cookies today tho which are lush and now baby won't stop moving. Think she's on a sugar high hahha

Sorted out all the lol bits and bobs like nappies ect and don't one load of baby clothes in the wash. Got about 4 loads to do!! Can't believe how many clothes she's has!!
I soooo want her here before Xmas but I think I'm still going to be here in jan :'(

Best of luck to all those who are having signs xx

Roselau · 10/12/2013 18:39

stom if it makes you feel any better, I just came back from my Dr appointment and while the baby is super healthy (and already 8lbs!), my cervix is still fully closed, and like you I'm 38.3
losing all hopes of having her by christmas, and I feel like I'm going to give birth to a 10lbs baby which terrifies me.

violetbean · 10/12/2013 18:46

Huge congratulations superman!

Am in ante-natal ward. It's boiling in here. Had dinner and then threw it all up again (oops), then had baby's heartbeat on monitor for half an hour and then had a sweep. Sweep really uncomfortable, ouch! (worst thing was knowing that's nothing compared to the labour pains coming soon!) Then pessary put in - also really uncomfortable. Apparently I was already 1-2cm dilated but baby's head is quite high. Thanks for the good wishes, I need to remember the good thing coming (baby) and not focus on the fear. Best wishes to all of you. Thanks

BohemianRaspberry · 10/12/2013 19:07

I'm with you stom, rose and better except I'm 39+5 and got all the stupid symptoms apart from the vital contractions one. Everytime I log onto fb it's like "aww that's so cute ... where's mine?!!"

Gas leak was a tiny tiny leak on the loosening spindle on the hob tap - love the gasman who doesn't charge as he "should have caught it". All happy now - had to stay on my ball throughout though.

SupermansGirl · 10/12/2013 19:16

Dont give up hope stom if it makes you feel any better I had nothing no signs no show then bam my waters went! Only took me 8 hours i was 4cm dilated when I got to hosp they checked me in, done my obs then moved me to labour then checked again and was 8cm already! Then took 20 mins to get to 10cm and then hour and a half of pushing.

Birthing pool was amazing used the gass and air aswell but mainly breathing through the contractions only screamed once when it got to pushing the middle bit of her head but that was because the stretching and burning. Really does take your pushing energy away screaming beware!!

SupermansGirl · 10/12/2013 19:18

Pic on my profile by the way as im not on facebook xx

Stom91 · 10/12/2013 19:25

Sound like you had a nice birth super. I really want baby here so so much but at the same time I'm absolutely shitting it and think she can stay in there haha

everyday I wake up and I think please be today! Lol
Having my hair cut tomorrow and then going to town to rt a couple bits. Hopefully the walking will do something!!

Stom91 · 10/12/2013 19:26

super your lil girl is beautiful xxx

extracrunchy · 10/12/2013 19:32

Stom same here! All the time I think "this might be the last time I go to Starbucks/buy bread/eat lunch with DS/whatever before little girl arrives"...

Roselau · 10/12/2013 19:46

super she's so cute congrats! I can't scroll back for some reason, did you have any symptoms? did you know she was engaged? I'm looking for the miracle stories with little symptoms of babies that just pop out to keep my hopes up....

I slept like shit I'm so tired. But I know I need to go for a walk to get baby moving. I jsut can't get myself to get up. aaaagggh

Roselau · 10/12/2013 19:49

So my DH has just been the most amazing, supportive partner in the past 38 and a half weeks - and I know he will be amazing going forward. I'd like to get him a little present to say thank you. not something big or anything crazy, but just to say that I really appreciate it and there is no way I would've supported pregnancy this well without him.

Any advice??

froubylou · 10/12/2013 19:53

Wow congratulations super. That was super quick.

And good luck violet. Hope it all goes well for you.

3 more sleeps until I get to meet my little man. Very excited but very nervous too. Last lot of housework and washing tomorrow, a very, , very lazy day on Thursday then Friday is C day. Gulp.

SupermansGirl · 10/12/2013 20:18

Rose miracle story: no symptons no cramps no show didnt even feel like she had dropped/engaged. Just woken up my a cramp then pop went my waters. Contractions started10 mins later 6 mins apart straight away then when got to hosp 2 mins apart.

Please beleive me when I say i had no idea I would be holding my babygirl today nothing warned me. The 4 hour shopping spree and "dtd" yesterday (celebrating our engagment ha!) must have done it.

Stom91 · 10/12/2013 21:11

Rose I got dp a watch. I wanted to engrave it but they can't do it but I'm sure he will still appreciate it

Jut had our end of tenancy invert org back from the old flat and they are trying to get us on so much!! Silly things like a smear on the mirror where it had been polished. And the mould in the bathroom! How is that our fault! Can't help it being so cold in there!!
And on the door there are glass panels and one of then has been replaced. - but it was replaced BEFORE we moved in!! And is on our inventory we had when we moved so that's not our fault! They want take money out of our deposit. At this rate we are going to get none of the £900 back!!
I don't need this shit write now
Dp I going through our one we had when we loved in and the one they just did and going to email them.
Thing is the one they did just before we loved in was rushed cos they done it the morning we moved in!

Sorry for the moan. Just fuckes me off we left the place in a better state then when we moved in and they still wana try take out money!!

mumoftwoboysS · 10/12/2013 21:17

hi there Mythree! Hows it all going? Do you know what you're having or did you decide to wait and see??

supermans sounds like my 2nd labour/birth- no signs just sudden pop and waters breaking, 20 mins later contractions started, baby arrived 2 hours later. I'm expecting this one to go the same way but who knows!

I really hope I get to use the birthing pool this time tho knowing my luck it'll be occupied again...
