Hi Sherbert. I didn't have a sweep, just came straight in for induction. They've induced using Propess which is a 24 hour hormone pessary. After 24 hours, I was still only 1cm dilated so they inserted another one. 24 hours after that, cervix was much more favourable so they did a stretch & sweep and said they could now break my waters. That was at 5pm today, but I'm just waiting for a room on labour suite to come available so that they can get on with it!

I just said it was long and boring because I didn't fully appreciate that it could go on a few days and I would end up staying overnight in hospital for so long.

I wasn't told anything about what to expect so just assumed things would start happening and I'd be bringing baby home the next day! No such luck.

You'll be fine, the good thing is that the itching will soon be over Grin!!

snowqu33n · 08/12/2013 22:08

wow, stom congrats on moving, don't think I could cope with that at this stage, it was bad enough a couple of months back. So nice to get settled, though.
frouby think I'm the same as you, breech and getting stabby pains and cramps low down, which seems to set baby off with hiccups and wiggling, I woke up about 4 times last night and started checking the clock to make sure it wasn't contractions. I'm OK if I walk around or sit up for a bit though.
Congrats Aston!
lis I got them a few years ago from babysitting and was given the tip to use loads of cheap, greasy conditioner on wet hair and then comb through hair thoroughly with a nit comb every day or every other day for a couple of weeks. It worked, and although I was paranoid and kept checking now and again for a few months after, they didn't come back.

MrsShrubs · 08/12/2013 22:19

Anyone else everytime they go to the loo hope that baby will just miraculously slip out easy peasy?

SupermansGirl · 08/12/2013 22:21

MrsS it does happen, saw a newspaper atricle a few years ago shock of my life. Im wishing for anything right now my little size 6 body cant take this beast of a baby no longer.

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 08/12/2013 23:30

(This is Whispers partner) She wants you all to know that while she has been having contractions most of the day with the drip, she isnt dilating so as soon as theatre is available we will be going down for cesarean. You can all finally solve the 9month long debate as to what Peanut is :D

beth27123 · 08/12/2013 23:44

Ah go Whisper! So proud of you xx

PinkWitch803 · 09/12/2013 00:17

supermansgirl my size 14/16 before the four stone added pregnancy weight body is struggling and O was a gym bunny. I can't imagine how you feel. But then I bet you haven't "expanded" quite the same as me and you have a really lovely bump. Lol

Mogz · 09/12/2013 01:15

Hope everything is going/has gone well for Whisper, can't wait for an update.
Frouby and Snow hope you're managing to rest and your tricksy breech babies aren't giving you too much pain.
MrsS28 I'm now technically (yawn, bloody insomnia) 41w, so very much wanting a sweep to actually have some effect before they want to induce, or at least that an induction gets things going quikish. I really don't want to be on a ward overnight without my DH, pathetic as that may be, but I spent far too much of this pregnancy hooked up to various things in hospital without any company and I felt very isolated and scared. But needs must I suppose.

5ammy · 09/12/2013 01:51

Sleep -

It's over rated anyway right?

BohemianRaspberry · 09/12/2013 02:00

mogz I don't want to be in hosp without DH either.

This stop/start prelabour is annoying. I spend all afternoon and evening with increasing BHs that look like they are going to be something more. Now nothing.

Also got a pad in as wasn't sure if I nearly wet myself earlier or whether it was waters. Now the baby's movements are reduced. It isn't his usual 'wake' time but I don't know what to do now, currently in the position that yields the most movement usually. It doesn't help that I have Anxiety anyway.

I also don't want to look an idiot at the hosp either or make dh get out of bed when he has only just fallen asleep and has work tomorrow. I also don't want to turn up at the hosp and be induced or anything as like you mogz I don't want to be alone in the hosp. This is garbled I know but I just need to get it down otherwise I'll just be pacing all night.

Never thought I'd wish for a contraction...

BohemianRaspberry · 09/12/2013 02:01

5ammy what is this sleep you speak of?

Mogz · 09/12/2013 02:19

Sleep? Nah, sorry, never heard of it!

Bohemian you will not look like an idiot for wanting to get checked out, and it really is for the best to do so. The staff would rather hook up the monitor now so they can tell you all is well than, god forbid, something go wrong later down the line. Have a very cold, sugary drink and if there is still nothing in an hour or so then ring the ward for advice. Could simply be baby is being quiet because its not got much room any more, so try to be calm.
Have you checked the pad? If you do go in remember to take any used pads with you and mention you're not sure if your waters have gone.

BohemianRaspberry · 09/12/2013 02:26

Woke him up with ice cold OJ. Told him he can boot me as much as he likes now.

Thanks for the advice Mogz I've been so calm today, it was annoying to have a slip - still wearing pad and will check for saturation in the next pee break. Don't feel too leaky atm.

Another birth on fb! can't remember the nickname here though

Mogz · 09/12/2013 02:48

Oh good, glad the little one is wriggling away Smile

SupermansGirl · 09/12/2013 03:56

Pink ooo I wish! My belly is huge and smuthered in stretch marks big thick red ones! I had a cute bump until About 30 weeks then it all started going all over the place. Iv put on 3 stone 4 and thats all on my belly no where else!

froubylou · 09/12/2013 04:05

sleep is definitely overrated lol.

Mrwhisper thanks for the update. Pass on my love to whisper and tell her a c section isn't so bad.

Bohemian glad baby is wriggley again. Mine keeps doing the same lately too. You just decide to start giving people the heads up you are going to be heading in for checking and the baby starts a party.

I think a lot of it is to do with position and space.

SupermansGirl · 09/12/2013 04:13

I have litrelly tears in my eyes iv overdone myself again and f'ed my back! Cant even sit up because the pressure on my spine. Why O why did I not learn from last time!!!

Starting to freak out I wake up at 4 on the dot every morning Hmm

PinkWitch803 · 09/12/2013 04:51

Try to rest your back with some paracetemol. Don't stress, it will tense you up and make the pain worse.

Maybe lie on your side and support your bump. Your back is likely to be confused about your centre of gravity and is overcompensating.

Btw my wake up time is 4:33 every morning. But this morning was a rule breaker at 4:01!

Mogz · 09/12/2013 05:18

Aww Super try to take it easy dear! Like Pink said, have some paracetamol, maybe also try a warm water bottle or heat pack to ease out any tension.

SupermansGirl · 09/12/2013 07:42

Thanks ladies! Just had DP shouting at me telling me to stop working.

Its Christmas and everyone wants their hair done its the busiest time of year for me and my clients come to my house so I was planning on working until I pop. Think Im going to just narrow things down to family cant wait to just have a break.

So we have had one more baby born but cant work out who from Facebook and Whisper will be announcing also soon. Not many of us left now especially there is a few of you having Elcs this week!

mumoftwoboysS · 09/12/2013 07:49

bohemian I've had some moments recently with baby not moving as much- think its def due to a lack of space but doesn't make it easier when I start to worry. Having said that baby was wriggling around loads last night- I could feel little limbs and feet swirling over my belly- felt so weird I was following them with my hands!

I woke loads last night too- uncomfortableness and lots of wee trips- insomnia here to stay me thinks!

Waiting to hear from Whisper- hope her c-sect went well!.

Hope the pain eases soon super take it easy.

I feel a nesting/cleaning flurry coming on- I look around the house and SO much needs doing. And the nursery is a mess as DH brought everything down from he loft and dumped it there- don't get me wrong, I grateful and it needed to be done, but now I somehow need to find places for everything.

SupermansGirl · 09/12/2013 07:55

Mumoftwo can I ask do you know what your having? I see you have two boys was just being nosey and wanted to know if its a third Grin

froubylou · 09/12/2013 07:58

Super I know how you feel about work. But make sure you are able to do it without knackering yourself up. I personally would do family until the end of this week then no more. Christmas is busy enough without being heavily pg and still working.

Lovely crampy pain this morning. Followed by another huge poo. Where the fuck is it coming from lol. Been suffering with constipation most of pgy so it's a nice change I suppose. Just wish the cramps weren't so bad.

And sticking with bums I seem to have had some sort of spot or boil burst on my arse cheek lol. Found some dried gunk on my bum when I got dressed and traced it back to a sore spot on my bum.

It's sooooo glam being pg.

Hope we have some more baby news today. I have 4 more sleeps maximum before I meet my little man.

Mogz · 09/12/2013 08:12

Thoroughly fed up, been awake since 1 trying not to throw up because of damned indigestion. I will try to be nice to people with baby news today but please feel free to give me a slap if I end up growling and muttering to myself in the corner.

Stom91 · 09/12/2013 08:58

2 more babies have been born. & it looks like. 2 more are on their way on the fb group. :)
