Cranky?! Crampy!!

itsliz · 07/12/2013 10:07

I'd be feeling cranky as well if I were you, Mumma! Grin

Superman I second frouby on the ranitidine - it's brilliant stuff! It's just branded as supermarkets own indigestion tablets, but on the front of the box it should say 'contains ranitidine'.
I recommended it to someone at my yoga class the other day and had everyone in the room gazing at me like I was some sort of pregnancy guru, haha!

Lady that must've been so, so scary for you. Sounds like you were in very good hands though! Hope you all settle into life back at home quickly Smile

Looks like I'm back in the insomnia club as well as I woke up every two hours on the dot throughout the night!
Seems I'm my own worst enemy at the moment as I've been suffering from agonising back pains but kept waking up to find that I'd rolled onto my back...!

SupermansGirl · 07/12/2013 13:42

My brother scared me and i thought my waters broke....i then realised i wet myself Blush

Lovely.

froubylou · 07/12/2013 13:49

Right this is ridiculous.

I fully expected to check this thread and there be at least 2 babies born by now.

Super don't worry about it. Mood I'm in if someone scated me I'd piss on them deliberately lol.

Should be making the most of the last baby free weekend we have and am just slobbing out on sofa contemplating having either some ice cream or a pastry thing.

SupermansGirl · 07/12/2013 13:52

Frouby shouldn't whisper be close to announcing the new baby news? Im not on the fb group so she may of-already had him/her.

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 07/12/2013 14:17

I have just got to the labour suite so don't worry frouby there will be baby news in the near future. Grin

Chelsealady · 07/12/2013 14:37

Yay Whisper thats good news!

Frouby next week there will be lots of babies born, I can feel it in my bones!

astonvanilla · 07/12/2013 15:39

Congratulations Lady! My son's labour was exactly as you described and it took me a while to come to terms with the shock. Please pm me if you want to talk and just be kind to yourself and eat lots of dark chocolate and drink Guinness for the iron levels! Or pate followed by orange juice for extra absorption if you want to be healthier! It didn't put me off having another as I'm sitting here 39 weeks pregnant and fed up!
Good luck whisper too!

mumoftwoboysS · 07/12/2013 16:29

Good luck whisper!!

lady I had a friend who went through that and I think she was still very anaemic when she came home as she said she was kind of out of it for a few days. Hope you recover quickly and glad it all turned out ok. I know they have very good drugs and procedures to stop PPH but it still scares the crap out of me. But I have no real reason to worry as it hasn't happened before. I think it's cos the mw said 'I assume you want a managed 3rd stage i.e. Injection I the thigh as soon as as babys head is out to help prevent bleeding which is more common with 2nd and 3rd births' she said it so nocholantly and it panicked me- she's obviously not great at wording things well to avoid scaring people!...

froubylou · 07/12/2013 17:50

Oh come on whisper. I won't rest until I know. And pistachio seems to have gone quiet too.

Can we make sure that in future ee have it in our labour plans that someone should be updating this thread? Because I can't cope with all this tension.

PistachioTruffle · 07/12/2013 18:06

I'm still here, still in pain, still no baby! They've been getting progressively worse since they started, but I'm only just at the point where I really have to concentrate. I have a feeling not much sleep will be had tonight Sad

Mogz · 07/12/2013 18:18

Oh Pistachio I do hope things get going a bit faster for you, you must be tired by now.
Sending luck to Whisper too.
Still no signs of anything happening over here, boo hiss! My dad is now convinced baby is hanging on until Friday 13th, he reckons that'd be a great birthday, I reckon I'll be thoroughly naffed off by then!

BetterWithCheese · 07/12/2013 18:20

I'm in the knicker-checking club as well. Baby quite low but no show yet. I'd lost part of plug by this point in first pregnancy but then went overdue so not sure why I'm even bothered Confused.

Have had a lovely day taking my son on a Santa train. It was his first time meeting Santa and he loved it! Just waiting for curry now and going to have a small wine - very happy.

Good luck Whisper and Pistachio!

Mogz · 07/12/2013 18:25

Better I loooove the Santa trains that our local preserved railway runs! I'm very jealous of your little boy. I bet it was a magical day Smile we rather like steam trains in my family, in fact my mum has been trackside for a fair portion of today waiting for a couple of streaks to go past on the mainline [neeerd]

Chelsealady · 07/12/2013 18:33

Pistachio at least you know the end is near keep thinking positive!

Oh my cant believe still no baby Whisper! I hope they have given you a bit more than paracetamol now.

Okay so I still feel pregnant...tummy has gone down but still feel like there is something in there moving. I know that there isn't obviously but maybe I'm missing the feeling a little to much.

beth27123 · 07/12/2013 18:35

So sorry I haven't updated for a while, couldn't remember my password!
Pistachio it looks like we're in the same boar, Ive been having contractions every 10-15 minutes for 26 hours now, been really painful this afternoon but just not getting any more frequent! I do hope things start moving properly for you!
Better that trip sounds amazing, cant wait till we can do things like that!
lady Im glad to hear you're home safe! Congrats x

BetterWithCheese · 07/12/2013 18:38

Mogz my son is train obsessed and loves steam trains in particular. Turns out my FIL is too so we've been to multiple train museums and trainspotting as well. It really was lovely and I would highly recommend (it was North Yorkshire Moors Railway and they do three routes).

Mogz · 07/12/2013 18:45

I've yet to visit NYM, we are near the Nene Valley Railway and I've spent a lot of time at the lines in Norfolk and Wales too. Used to hate it as a kid as we'd be dragged there come h'll or high water, but I quite like it now I'm a bit older and can appreciate the great engineering and also the pretty routes (and cream teas in first class Wink)
Beth 26 hours!? You poor thing, hopefully not much longer now. Best of luck.

BohemianRaspberry · 07/12/2013 19:44

Mogz I think you are near to me? I'm in Cam and Better I can recommend the NRM if you haven't been there already - I used to go there every single Sunday when I was in York.

Beth that sound bad - aren't the hospital doing anything for you for thi s or given you an indication?

I still have random BH all over the place, constant pausing to see if waters have broken and generally feeling like I have been run over by a bus with aches and pains. DM is convinced I'm going to go in the next 24, I wouldn't be surprised that with my anxiety I end up just going overdue.

beth27123 · 07/12/2013 19:46

I've been told not to contact the hospital until they're 5 minutes apart so just got to hold on it seems!

Sorelip · 07/12/2013 20:02

Andrew was born by Emcs at 22.22 on 4th december. Arrived home tonight, wanted to leave yesterday but jaundice levels were slightly too high. I missed Ds1 so much, but I can't pick him up and everything seems too much at the moment. I haven't caught up with the thread properly yet, but thanks for all the good wishes. will update more soon.

Roselau · 07/12/2013 20:13

congrats sorelip! I hope every settles down in the next day or two and enjoy this special time. xx

Roselau · 07/12/2013 20:15

guys i still got nothing. i feel totally normal which i know i shouldn't complain but it's depressing. I'm 38 wks today. I will for sure be pregnant in 2014 and that's just very very annoying. no pain, no show, no dropping, no nothing. I should go for a walk etc, but I did so much yesterday I'm exhausted today. :(

Chelsealady · 07/12/2013 20:21

Congrats to you sore! At least your home safe and sound with your family now xxxx

Mogz · 07/12/2013 20:30

Bohemian we're in Huntingdonshire now, so not far from Cambridge. It's a nice area, but very isolated as we are in a tiny village with no public transport.
Welcome to the world Andrew, congrats on his safe arrival Sore, rest up lots and take it as easy as possible whilst you heal.
