Whisper all the best for today, and good on your body for giving you a good night's sleep when you really need it! Hopefully it'll be just as amenable and cooperative during labour!

Well, the hospital rang this morning to say I've got obstetric cholestasis so I've got to go in and be induced at 1pm. I'm gutted as I'd planned a home hypnobirth with my little girl present, and now I'll be under consultant led care!! Best laid plans! Main thing is that the baby is safe and well and has a smooth delivery from mummy to the world.

And at least it'll mean an end to the bloody itching......ARGH!!!

Good luck to the rest of you, hope things progress soon xx

LadyMedea · 06/12/2013 11:16

Hi all... Gabriel turned up yesterday morning at 6.24 am on his due date. Let's just say we had an interesting time as labour was only 10 hours total, first 5 1/2 hours getting to 2 cm then the next 5 going all the way to 10. Made far less fun by no pain relief (thank god for TENS machine) as classic over stretched maternity unit who I assumed I was being meldromatic over the pain rather than just having A fast labour. Was given codeine but just threw it up so had nothing.

Unfortunately I hemmoraghed quite badly so the aftermath was rather traumatic. That combined with the fast labour means that we are all a bit shell shocked. But we are very glad our little man is here.

Congrats Lady, so lovely that you have met your little one. Hope you are making a speedy recovery and that you're being well looked after.

Good luck with the induction MrsS!

Go whisper, hope things progress nicely!

Thinking of you all. Am heading back to bed for a rest after another night of insomnia.

kchapper5 · 06/12/2013 11:39

mrss I've haD itching all the way through this pregnancy, ive always itched my legs when I'm tired so I've never mentioned it but it's got so much worse recently! Is there any other symptoms? Should I ring my mw? Sorry it's changed your plans but at least your baby will be here safely xx

yogafan · 06/12/2013 11:51

Hi all, congrats on the babies!

Just an extra special good luck to whisper and mrsS28 with their inductions today. I was induced with DD 2 years ago (had been planning home hypbo birth) and it was great, hypnobirthing stuff still worked really well, had the music playing over and over, started with clary sage on a flannel to sniff, then progressed to G&A. Went smoothly and quickly (once on the drip) - hoping you have good experiences too. All the best x

extracrunchy · 06/12/2013 12:03

Congratulations Lady! Sorry you had a bit of a stressful birth but lovely you've met your little one. Nice name too Smile

MrsS that's a shame you've had to change your plans but so exciting you get to meet baby probably today!!!

I've been napping and back to nothing happening. Ah well!

lisbapalea · 06/12/2013 12:06

Congrats Lady - beautiful name! Sorry things were so stressful but hope things calm down for you all today.

Good luck to everyone else with twinges, contractions, sweeps and inductions! My best friend had her dc3 on Tuesday at 41+5 - she was induced and was only in labour for one hour, so that's hopefully a positive induction story!

I had my 38wk midwife appt this morning - baby is not engaged at all, which makes me very relieved to have the c.s. booked for the 17th as I reckon I could be waiting until January if I left things to their own devices!

Had my first half decent night's sleep in ages last night, but weirdly feel even more knackered. How is that fair?!

SupermansGirl · 06/12/2013 12:33

Congratulations Lady I hope you get some rest after everything.

I have been itching also and im thinking the same as you kc should i ring the MW its consistant on my legs and belly mainy?

mumoftwoboysS · 06/12/2013 13:20

Good luck whisper look forward to hearing news soon!

Congratulations lady! Sorry to hear the aftermath was traumatic. Was the haemorrhage due to the fast labour? That's my worst fear- I had a quick labour last time and worried I could get a PPH this time. Did the stop it with drugs? (Sorry if you'd rather not talk about it I completely understand!)

mumoftwoboysS · 06/12/2013 13:25

Btw have any of you bought an Xmas present for the baby?? I haven't really thought about it till a friend asked, but first of all I don't know if he/she will be here before or after Xmas, secondly I have the biggest pile in the world of baby clothes due to this being dc3, and thirdly I've already spent money on stuff we need. Kind of think a new outfit would be nice but then I may wait to see if t's a boy or girl!...

MummaDevon · 06/12/2013 13:34

Good luck MrsS and Whisper hope all goes smoothly. Congrats Lady enjoy your newborn cuddles.

Just got my Christmas tree, should give me something else to concentrate on as nothing much happening here other than usual BH. 39 weeks today though :-)

lisbapalea · 06/12/2013 13:59

mumof we have got DC a book to go under the tree, and I have also wrapped up a nappy, a mini tub of sudocrem and a bib (all stuff we had already) to go in a stocking!

I have done all of that purely for the benefit of DD who, at 3.9 would definitely question why Father Christmas was neglecting the baby! She's quite self righteous and judgemental (probably a mumsnetter in the making!!) so I've just done it to keep the peace!!

Mogz · 06/12/2013 14:01

Congratulations Lady, I hope you're being able to rest up a lot.
And good luck to those of you labouring today, hopefully it won't be too long now until you've got your lovely babies in your arms.
mum I'm also waiting to find out if little one is a boy or a girl before buying a Christmas gift, it'll probably be something small like a nice ornament for the tree as we're in the luck position of having everything that baby needs.
I spent from 1am-6am being grumpily awake and sick, then slept fitfully until 1pm, feeling very fed up that there's still no sign of baby and that my MW won't induce until 12th when I'm 10 days over.

froubylou · 06/12/2013 14:15

Congratulations lady. Lovely name for a December baby and I hope you are recovering well.

Hope things are progressing nicely for you whisper.

I still feel quite odd. Crampy and heavy and achey and restless. I have a bizarre urge to bounce and rock or walk around. Wtf is that all about? I've also cleaned the house and done every bit of washing. And done loads of paperwork including my tax return which I usually leave until the last minute.

Baby either quiet or bouncing around. Going to try and have a snooze and then have a bath and see how I feel. Got to have a c section so don't want to be going into full blown labour before I go in.

Might just be baby dropping though.

SupermansGirl · 06/12/2013 15:16

mumof I havent got him/her a gift but I have got them an outfit its a christmas one which was on sale I had to purchase to cute! But I just think Iv spent so much money and so has everyone else around me especially it being mu first and having no other children in my family. I dont think I will buy them anything it doesnt look like i will be meeting thrm until jan at this rate anyway!

Good idea with the stocking fillers so the DC's dont get confussed!

ccsays · 06/12/2013 15:47

Thinking of you MrsS, hope it all goes well.

38 weeks today, got my pump through for the gym ball, so was bouncing on that, drinking raspberry leaf tea, watching OBEM and thinking 'birthy' thoughts. Don't think it's made a difference though. Got clary sage for a bath later too.

More fecking snuzpod drama. They sent an email saying there was a part missing and it was getting flown in by courier on the tenth, but they couldn't guarantee delivery for then as it might get held up at customs (again). Then I got another email saying that it wasgetting delivered in Monday. (Was meant to come October 31st, btw). Emailed for clarification and just got a copy of my order confirmation sent back. Phoned them and they said they had thought the part was missing, but actually it wasn't and the snuzpod was getting delivered on Monday.

Couldn't find their arse with both hands and a flashlight, as my Mum would say. Xmas Angry

Stom91 · 06/12/2013 16:21

Congrats lady :)
So it's the last night in our cold damp flat!! Wooo :D
DP is treating us to a nice meal out as it's the last time we will do it for a while.

Still need to pack up the kitchen but I've ran out of boxes Confused
I'm not getting dd anything I've spent enough on her this year lol but my parents and brother hae bought her loads so if she is here there's loads to open!! Think she's abit spoilt lol
38 weeks tomorrow and feel really uncomfortable now forever changing positions when sitting and Lying down hurt my hips.
I hope I can get all moved in at the weekend and then dd can make an appearance on Monday!! Here's hoping!!!

Hope everyone is ok sending lots of positives vibes! Xx

Chelsealady · 06/12/2013 17:02

Good luck MrsS sending posotive vibes and hugs.

kc,Liz,Super posotive thoughts ladies I really had no clue I would end up going into labour there was no signs. Things will pick up soon.

Writting this for my mums friend...shes asked if anyone gets a trickling feeling of discharge? She keeps thinking its her waters but then turns out to be discharge but its clear and quit watery? Sorry TMI lol

MrsShrubs · 06/12/2013 17:13

chelsea I get that all the time, I keep thinking my waters are leaking and they're not Xmas Hmm

MrsShrubs · 06/12/2013 17:13

Yay congrats stom on your last night!!!

Mogz · 06/12/2013 17:15

Chelsea I find if I don't wear a pad I feel very damp and yucky, I thought it might be waters when it first happened but after a quick check up turns out its just watery discharge. Lovely, eh!

itsliz · 06/12/2013 17:33

Sending lots of luck to Whisper and MrsS, hope things are progressing well for both of you!
And of course a huge congratulations to Lady on the birth of baby Gabriel Smile Not surprised you're still in shock after all of that but hope you have a super speedy recovery.

Chelsea Thanks very much for the positive thoughts (means a lot to know that those of you who are lucky enough to have had your babies haven't forgotten about the rest of us, haha!) Just so frustrating not knowing when things are going to start happening and second guessing every little symptom!

frouby I'm exactly the same, feeling really achy, heavy and restless at the moment but trying very hard not to read too much into it...!

Spent the morning making fairy cakes (which really shocked DP when he got home from work as I don't think I've ever made cakes in the time that he's known me!) and now just catching up on posts after having my 36 week appointment.
Baby is doing well, still head down but the GP said she wasn't qualified to check how far down he is or whether he's started to engage Hmm so I'm still none the wiser...

hotcrossbun83 · 06/12/2013 17:47

ccsays I could have written your post! 38 weeks today, bouncing away on my ball and I'm waiting on my snuzpod.. They called a couple of weeks ago to say it would be delivered on Monday, now I've just had an email saying courier is booked for Tuesday, no mention that they've changed the day. I'll be home on Tuesday but it's so annoying, I've been keeping Monday free for weeks and now booked other deliveries for that day so I'll have to stay home anyway, grr. I saw somewhere on here they have offered some people 30% off, not me but I'm going to call them next week and ask when my discount is being processed!

ccsays · 06/12/2013 18:13

I only found out because I phoned them, hotcrossbun. When I said their customer service had been terrible she said "I know, I know" and that they were trying to get 200 snuzpods out an were mass emailing people. Xmas Hmm If I hadn't phoned them I would've had no idea if it was coming Monday or Tuesday. They don't seem to know their arse from the elbow.

Anyways, I would phone them on Monday to clarify.

Also, I never got 30% off either, but they did send me a Moses basket and stand to cover me in case DD arrives before snuzpod. And a twenty quid voucher.

PistachioTruffle · 06/12/2013 19:42

Congratulations Lady, I love the name Gabriel! If only DH did too!

Hope the ladies who are bing induced or labouring are doing well Flowers

Braxton hicks have ramped up this afternoon and I've started losing mucous
