Rose mine is the same and purple, urgh. It had better go back to normal. And how painful is waxing now? I usually pride myself on lying back and answering a few emails while they get on with it but the last time I almost cried. Should have one more before DD but I don't know if I can bare it

Chelsealady · 05/12/2013 21:17

Rose still cant see mine still got a belly which is in the way. Nice that someone has some dignity I hadn't shaved my legs in 2 weeks not to mention anything else. Where I wasn't expecting to go into labour i was not prepared but god when them contractions kicked in I did not care I tore my clothes off lol!

Roselau · 05/12/2013 22:36

hotcross i'm glad it's not just me... and yes it was painful, I even went with the 'sugaring' which is supposed to be less painful etc and I was in tears.

chelsea it's mostly because i have the time. I know all dignity will go out the window once I'm dealing with it all. So I'm doing what I can ahead of time.

the amazing news is that we went for a maternity tour on Tuesday and the hospital only has private rooms. you stay for 2 days / 2 nights in a private room. so at least I don't have to share with 10 other women & babies on a ward. That made me feel better.

ccsays · 05/12/2013 22:43

Christ, you're all braver than me, that sounds excruciating. Figure that if I'm going to possibly shit myself anyway, the muff hair is by the by in terms of dignity.

Good luck for tomorrow whisper!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/a1926544-Surprises-during-birth

Why did I read this thread? Seriously first time giving birth and that thread has scared me sh!!

Oh on the swollen fouf Rose Mine is and seriously itchy on the left hand side for 2 weeks. Iv never had thrush before so I dont know what its like and now think I have it!

mumoftwoboysS · 05/12/2013 23:34

supermans that's a great thread-lol! Grin don't worry the fact that they're all talking/laughing about it means it hadn't scarred them for life (too much anyway!) it's all part of the very unglamorous birth experience!

You lot talking about waxing have me worried. I really need to sort myself out tho am too scared to get someone to do it so it'll be home-style trimming and leg waxing for me! Only had a Brazilian once (actually for my wedding day/night and I was preggers then so it bloody hurt) and don't think I could subject my (rather swollen purple) bits to that just before it has to push a baby out- but hats off to those braver than me!

Insomnia getting boring now....really need some sleep

mumoftwoboysS · 05/12/2013 23:35

Good luck tomorrow whisper hope it all goes quickly and smoothly!

SupermansGirl · 05/12/2013 23:44

Mumof thanks for the reassurance the whole "finger up bum" bit was rather....overwhelming. I just keep telling myself that if it was that bad woman would not carry on having children.

Insomnia is my middle name.

froubylou · 06/12/2013 00:09

It's mine too super. Sigh.

I need to shave the top of my bikini line apparently. That should be fun lol. Think I will have to get DP on the job. He will love that I bet! But am dreading the regrowth with a c section scar. But better than waxing it off with a dressing I suppose.

Really fancy a cup of tea but can't be arsed to get out of bed. DP snoring and I am going to bash him in a minute lol.

MrsS28 · 06/12/2013 00:38

Whisper good luck for tomorrow, I hope everything goes smoothly (and quickly) for you.

It's such a comfort to be in the company of so many others who are completely fed up with pregnancy! I'm 39w1d (39w2d really, as it's after midnight!) and feel like I can't go another day.

I'm itching all over my body so unbearably all hours of day and night and it is driving me insane. Been retested for obstetric cholestasis this afternoon so I'll get the results tomorrow.

Hope you all get a reasonable night's sleep tonight x

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 06/12/2013 06:20

Well I got 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. longest I've slept in the entire pregnancy! woke up at 5am to throw up and get nervously excited. just lost my plug and it looked like browny goo so isn't that usually the last of it? perhaps I won't need much help getting peanut out after all Grin

Dusty04 · 06/12/2013 06:41

Good luck for today whisper

I had a good nights sleep too, best in ages! Only woke once for one toilet trip so feel great today!

PinkWitch803 · 06/12/2013 06:44

Sounds promising whisper. Good luck

MrsShrubs · 06/12/2013 06:54

Good luck whisper !!!

BetterWithCheese · 06/12/2013 07:19

Yep Whisper sounds like you're good to go. Glad you got a good sleep too.

I had a rotten night, DS woke me up at 2.30 then I was so crampy I couldn't sleep so eventually went and took some paracetemol which then set off mad acid reflux so had to go back downstairs for Gaviscon around 4am. It's my last day at work today and I have A LOT to get finished today so it sucks to be so tired. But after today it won't matter which is good. Also got good news about mat pay yesterday - I am entitled to SMP (as the wise Nom pointed out) and my old and new employers are going to coordinate it between them so I don't have to do anything - whew.

extracrunchy · 06/12/2013 07:40

Whisper that sounds very efficient! All the very best for today Smile

I had a crap night! Contractions carried on till 1ish then stopped all of a sudden so could sleep till 3 then woke up to puke, then couldn't get back to sleep till 5.15, then DS (who'd already stayed awake till nearly 11 knowing something was going on!) got up at 6.15.

UGH.

And still no waters and contractions are only every hour or so. I am PISSED OFF Angry

Hope everyone's well and at least one other person has a baby today!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 06/12/2013 07:41

Well, today is my Due Date, the day of my sweep, and the worst day possible for me to go into labour...

DD has her school fete after school, where we buy back all the crap craft shes been making all term,we have to wait there until 4:20 as she's meeting Santa (which won't go down well with DS!) ... Then on Saturday morning she has her stagecoach xmas play...
DP has a big Xmas party to cater for today too.

Despite all this,I'm fed up enough that I still want to go into labour ASAP Hmm

BetterWithCheese · 06/12/2013 07:45

crunchy your night sounds worse than mine sending you ((((hugs))))

Upthe sounds like a tough day, hope you make it through all of it. They do say third ones are the trickiest.

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 06/12/2013 07:47

Ooh good luck whisper!

Better I hope you manage to get stuff done, but if you don't....it's not really your problem after the end of the day Wink so try not to stress.
Awesome news about your SMP!

Extra I sympathise with the ealy waki g,DD has woken at 5:30 every day since she was born- I'm still not used to it and she's 5!
Urgh.

extracrunchy · 06/12/2013 07:51

Oh god Upthe I hope DS doesn't keep early mornings up for that long. Poor you!! 6.15 is relatively late for him but still insane after his 11pm settling. He's going to nursery today, which is going to be fun for them!

DH wants to stay off work in case anything happens, which is nice, but I bet it won't and that's more unpaid time off and I'm just going to sleep anyway.

I am a boring whinge bag!

mumoftwoboysS · 06/12/2013 07:52

supermans I've had 2 and never had a finger up the bum! Or if I have I don't remember have suppressed it

So you may not have to go through that and like others said you really don't care about half of it at the time! I'm quite modest but during birth all that goes out the window- they've seen it ALL before, many times Grin

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 06/12/2013 08:01

Gawd,I'd do anything for DP to take a day off today!
The house is a state,I fell asleep early yesterday and DP did school pick up,dinner and bed on his tod, which is great but he left a trail of destruction behind him...he says he'll tidy it up when he gets home

froubylou · 06/12/2013 08:07

Good luck whisper. Sounds like you are already on your way.

I feel a bit odd too. Keep getting a severe stabby fanny, back ache and cramps. Nothing regular, just randomly. Baby was a bit less violent in there yesterday too. More rolling and pushing than wrestling and throwing himself from side to side. I think he is just moving into position but cos he is breech he can't get down and stay down.

Am going to do some cleaning and some paperwork just in case though. Be my luck I go into labour today when I have a nice civilised elcs next Friday lol.

SupermansGirl · 06/12/2013 08:07

Whisper overly jealous!! Good luck :)

So I have the dreaded thrush :( never had it in my life and never want it again. My fouf was on fire all night long couldn't sleep and the worst part....still no symptoms/signs that labour is anywhere near!!! Fedup.com/getThisBabyOutOfMe.

PistachioTruffle · 06/12/2013 10:29

Best wishes for today Whisper! Flowers
