How's everyone doing with pains?

Mogz · 05/12/2013 04:10

Hope you've managed to get back to sleep Mumma, all the dead of night loo trips are so bloody boring!
Those of you getting worried about less movement, if you're due soon it's very normal to not feel as much, my midwife had advised that so long as ive felt baby do something 10 times in 24 hours not to panic. Of course that is easier said than done and if you really are worried a trip to hospital should be a priority.
Any pains that were lurking for me have all disappeared, got some strong but painless tightenings so my body is doing something, just not enough for my liking.
Have also discovered I can manually pop my belly button in and out by tensing some muscles, DH got a bit freaked when I made him come look. It amused me though as the damn thing has remained stubbornly as an innie throughout and, weird though it might sound, I was kind of looking forward to it popping to an outie.

itsliz · 05/12/2013 04:49

Welcome to the thread superman! Always room for one more Smile
At 36+3 does that make you due 30th December? If so then snap!
I haven't had any BH, pains, tightenings, etc. yet either and am starting to wonder if I'll actually be able to spot any early signs of labour at this rate...

All I've had lately is a couple of very mild period pains and an even more active baby than usual who has decided it's fun to stick his bum out as far as possible (to the point where it feels like he's trying to exit through my belly button!)

He looks and feels very low down too so no idea if he's engaged yet. Fingers crossed the GP will be able to tell me what's going on at my appointment tomorrow!

MrsShrubs · 05/12/2013 06:07

Got to love pregnancy insomnia, woke up at 5 and haven't been able to get back to sleep. Was starving as well so now binging on everything in sight.

I'm 38+5 today and apart from period pains and BH I've had no shows (unless I've missed it when I've gone to the loo in the night) or anything. Got my 38w MW appointment today so let's see how we're doing.

chelsea you've had so much to deal with over the last month, you're doing so well. Keep your chin up, snuggle Indy and don't be pressured into anything.

extracrunchy · 05/12/2013 07:09

Oh Mumma you and me both Sad it's driving me crazy...

Mogz that is just WRONG!! You're lucky you don't have a terrifying belly buttonless tummy though. Mine's disappeared, I'm so massive!

Alyssa your DP sounds lovely Smile

Can't remember who mentioned less movement but I've also it the last couple of days, was starting to think I might pop in for a check, then all of sudden last night bump kicked off big time - it felt like there was a two year-old in there! Very bizarre.

In other news, no more contractions. Bah.

froubylou · 05/12/2013 08:02

Morning all.

Bloody windy here, might get blown away on school run.

Got hospital later for pre op check. Fuck. It's getting closer very quickly!

Any news on whisper on fb? And lady and sirelip? Expected baby news this morning!

My bump was a bit quiet over the weekend but has more than made up for it since lol. He may possibly be an all in wrestler I training and has his head up under my lung at the moment. Which is fine until he has a stretch. Glad he is being evicted in a week. There is just no more room for him to grow anymore.

ccsays · 05/12/2013 08:22

Morning everyone. I'm about halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh and it's officially 'blowy as fuck' here. Cat and I are tucked up in bed.

No news on whisper that I can see, frouby.

SupermansGirl · 05/12/2013 08:25

ItsLiz how exciting someone with the same due date! By the sounds of it we are in the exact same situation. Crap but good as I now know I'm not alone! How you feeling about the Christmas period...this stubborn child will probably make an appearance right when i'm eating Christmas dinner.

I have had a letter from hospital to say my iron is low so I now need to go in for an extra appointment grrr. Hospital is in London and I live on the boarder of Surrey as I have recently moved and I don't drive so forever relying on someone.

Alyssa1978 · 05/12/2013 08:32

Bloody hell! I'm in the north east.....what's up with this wind??

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 05/12/2013 08:43

Seriously?! I'm STILL pregnant?!!!

MrsShrubs · 05/12/2013 09:06

Haha upthe baby didn't slip out while you were sleeping? I always have this hope!

violetbean · 05/12/2013 09:09

whisper had a successful sweep and is at home waiting for things to kick off I think. Today could be the day! Envy

Nothing from me, no show, no BH, no period pains or contractions, just a horrible cold. 38+3 today. Aim to spend most of day in bed then meeting some friends in town later if I feel up for it.

Thinking of you all!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 05/12/2013 09:23

That's SO unfair! How come Whisper got a sweep? Envy it's not her turn yet!

39+6 today.
On off cramping/contractions for 6 days and my evil MW won't give me a sweep until my exact frigging EDD.

I love you really whisper, hope its all goes smoothly Flowers

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 05/12/2013 09:24

That's what I'd been hoping for MrsShrubs ....

Wake up,look over...cute baby next to me....

BohemianRaspberry · 05/12/2013 09:26

39wks today and after all the stronger BH and plugginess I know have.?...nothing. BH has gone quiet, LO is twitching a little and backache is mild. Boo.

Going to walk and walk today and then bounce. Hopefully that shoud restart things. Good luck to the labour ladies today!

Knew I should have been suspcious when I slept right through last night!

kchapper5 · 05/12/2013 09:29

super that means you've got the same due date as me too. :) I also have no signs whatsoever. I would now just like the baby out but I'm convinced it's going to be late and be a Jan baby. It just seems to comfortable in there.
mogz I started off being able to push my belly button out with my abdominals and now I've got a full blown sticky out outie, so you may get one.
upthe I hope something happens for you soon.
It's stupidly windy here in the midlands too :( but after a shit nights sleep I'm lying in bed still :) got my 36 week mw appointment this afternoon. I would like her to say baby is engaged (it's been head down but not engaged at the last two) and that it's coming out this next week, but I very much doubt it Hmm

froubylou · 05/12/2013 09:38

Just a thought but doesn't a change in weather kick off labour? Something to do with a change in isobars and pressure? Or is that an old wives tale?

Nearly got blown away on school run! Little whippet dog was almost a kite.

Really am struggling with the school run at minute. What a shitty time for my car to be off the road. Grrrrrrr. Its a mile there and back so not far but I get home and collapse for 20 mins. And after I have trecked around the hospital, done some washing, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom I have to go back to school and then traipse around the Christmas fayre at school. Which is horrendous at the best of times.

Think we'll have Chinese for tea.

PistachioTruffle · 05/12/2013 09:43

Frouby, Chinese for tea sounds a great idea. Not a single sign here still at 39 weeks. This weather is horrible though, wind and pelting rain Sad

Good luck whisper! Hope things are moving along for everyone.

lisbapalea · 05/12/2013 09:47

Urgh, think I have already overdone it today and it's only just 9.30!!

Woke up for 2hrs in the middle of the night (again! Is the concept of an uninterrupted night's sleep now a distant memory??). Then, still knackered, I took the dog for the windiest walk ever for almost an hour at a slightly too fast pace so that I could get home in time to get ready for my dad to pick me up for our planned morning/lunch out (so I can help him choose birthday/Christmas gifts for my mum).

I'm now showered, dressed, ready and waiting for dad but actually feeling more inclined to go back to bed. Not sure I am going to be great company for him!

SupermansGirl · 05/12/2013 09:54

Kc another fellow 30th with no signs...maybe its because were a little behind to everyone else. Keep telling myself that baby will know when I turn 37 weeks and that He/she will pop out on that date.
frouby your poor dog but that did make me chuckle. How do you find the energy to do all that? I wouldn't even make the school run. Walked around the shops with my mum for 4 hours yesterday and feel like my back is going to snap today.

MummaDevon · 05/12/2013 10:09

Bohemian that's what happened to me, lots of stronger BH and now nothing! I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, no plug yet!

Got a seven year old too who also decided he would get up at 3am and go downstairs...so barely any sleep last night! Bit of a sofa nap this afternoon I think before the school run!

It's proper windy here too and I'm in the south west! Hope you all have a good day.

itsliz · 05/12/2013 10:14

Superman The race is on between you, me and kchapper5 then! Chelsea was also due on 30th but best us all to it by having her little girl the other day Smile
It's spooky as all of us due on the same day seem to have various things in common - I'm in Surrey too and think Chelsea said she's near Epsom! Seems we've all had similar symptoms (or lack of!) too.

My birthday is on 16th so I've decided this little one isn't allowed to arrive then or on 25th. If he can turn up way before Christmas or just wait until his due date then I'll be happy! Very wishful thinking, but hey!

After saying I've had no symptoms, I woke up this morning with my heart pounding really hard, feeling really sick and headachy. Here's hoping it's just a bug and not something pregnancy-related...

Alyssa1978 · 05/12/2013 10:16

So sorry to hear everyone's labours are being norty and not cooperating i can relate

I hope everyone is in pain by the end of the day Hmm
of the good baby coming kind lol

whisper good luck after your sweep Hun, really hope it kick starts things for you Thanks

upthe my midwife was the same and today was actually the date of my sweep wouldve been 40+3
Sending you contracting dust Hun.

Just waiting for my midwives to come while I feed Lleyton Paul who is deciding to use my boob as a cushion lol
My feet and ankles are all swollen and my bp has gone a bit high for my liking so I'm gonna ask them to check it out.

Have a good day everyone xx

SupermansGirl · 05/12/2013 11:01

Liz how strange so much in common are you getting these fast winds?

I wonder who will be first and who will still be pregnant in january...probably be me to have a 2014 baby!

Stom91 · 05/12/2013 11:14

Welcome super I'm in the same boat 37+4 and I've had zilch nada nothing! I could cry lol
