Good luck Sorelip and Lady

Lady my friend gave birth at our local hospital, they had no rooms with beds left so she was put into an active birthing room. She went in and was sent home after being told it was Braxton hicks. After an hour it was too painful so went back, they said she could only have some Codine and when MW went to get it her waters broke, she had baby an hour later!
Chocolate and magazine day today...joy!

MildredH · 04/12/2013 09:11

Great news you're going home today Chelsea- must be a lovely feeling Grin

froubylou · 04/12/2013 09:21

Ooo mumma am weljel of your chill out day. I'm desperate to get all my jobs done before the early part of next week so I can have a couple of days chilling out before baby is hete and I'm recovering from c section and dealing with a new born.

Hope those that want labour to kick in get some good news today!

Housework today then tree up later. Getting exhausted now just doing school run twice a day. But should have car for day tomorrow as I apparently have my pre op appointment.

Baby is getting very squished I think. Keeps trying to stretch and push. Which means he is pushing his head right up under my ribcage. Nice.

I don't think I can get any bigger if I tried. Tummy so tight and hard. Wilk look like a deflated balloon once he's out lol.

Glad you are getting out chelsea. Make sure you make the most of any support or information when you do. You and indy might be entitled to grants and stuff and obviously you will get tax credits and stuff. Do your research. I would never have claimed MA if it hadn't been for a thread on here.

meandbumpy · 04/12/2013 09:26

My waters have gone! My waters have gone!

Well, they've been going since half 7 this morning and keep on coming, there's so much! No contractions yet (so they decide to stop after my waters break, weird) but lots of back pain and down low pains so I'm guessing my cervix has woken up and finally decided to join in the fun.
Rang MLU and they've told me to rest and ring back in a few hours unless contractions start. It's happening isn't it??? eeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!!

Going to get a cuppa and catch up on what's been happening over night, hope everyone's ok.

Oh and to those who have cats, they bloody know what's going on! Mine were really restless last night and were clawing the door down to get to me this morning. I think they were concerned we'd leave for hospital without feeding them, lol Grin

BetterWithCheese · 04/12/2013 09:33

Great news bumpy! With my first my waters went about 5pm and started contractions around 9pm. And yes, I gushed every time a moved position-it keeps replenishing itself so there is always more!

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 04/12/2013 09:44

Good luck meandbumpy! hope everything speeds up and you meet your baby by the end of the day.

great news on going home today chelsea you're going to be a brilliant mum so Indi.

Hope sorelip is okay and is busy pushing or newborn snuggling

I am on day 4 of low level niggly pain that ramps up all through the day and then I go to bed and wake up to nothing once more. Have lost a bit of plug this morning though but that never means anything Sad I just want this baby out now. Me and baby are no longer friends. It is uncomfy in my belly as there is no room for it and I am uncomfy having it in there so we are just pissing each other off Xmas Grin

Chelsealady · 04/12/2013 10:00

Yay meand baby cuddles for you soon, are we poping out 1 a day now ha!

Lady this man would not leave! Visiting hours stopped at 8 and he was still here at 10. In the end MW got really pissy and told him if you don't leave i will call security!

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

meandbumpy · 04/12/2013 10:12

Just had a really strong pain, went for a wee and some pinky goop came out as well. Could this be my plug coming out along with the waters as I haven't had a show yet?

Great news on coming home Chelsea, glad everything's going well.

Good luck to everyone who's on the way, hope things are progressing nicely Smile

extracrunchy · 04/12/2013 10:16

Glad you're going home Chelsea!

Good luck Meandbumpy! Yep sounds like your show.

Whisper I've been the same last few days - lots of niggly pain, feels like things are starting, even a couple of contractions in the evening, I go to bed thinking it's going to start properly during the night, then I wake up back to normal. Grr!!!

MrsS28 · 04/12/2013 10:18

Ooh good luck meand! Sounds like things are really progressing for you. I'm due the day after you, so hopefully I'll be in your position this time tomorrow!! #ifonlyitworkedlikethat xx

MrsShrubs · 04/12/2013 10:22

Good luck meand !!! Hope sorelip is doing okay

mumoftwoboysS · 04/12/2013 10:46

Exciting mean!! Yep sounds like your show. It's almost the end of the pregnancy road for you! Was thinking earlier it's funny how we're all heading for the only sure thing that we will all give birth- that's a certainty! It's just the how and when that we don't know. Quite strange- it's a guessing game of who's next!

Hope sorelip is ok- I guess we'll just have to wait to hear!

frouby know what you mean. School run is killing me and it's only 10 mins each way! (Should be 5 but I'm really slow now!) how many weeks are you?

My tum feels so big and stretched and I'm only 38 weeks on Sunday so god knows how it'll stretch any more!

Feel sick this morning. Weird I sometimes feel sick after milk (had cereal) in the mornings but can stomach it at night?!

PistachioTruffle · 04/12/2013 10:57

Good luck Meand! Hope Sorelip is doing well too. Glad to hear you're getting home Chelsea!

DH has eaten the last chocolate chip brioche that I was going to have for breakfast while I was asleep. It's a good job he's at work, or I wouldn't be responsible for my actions Angry

froubylou · 04/12/2013 11:17

Good luck meand! Try and keep us updated!

Mum I will be 38 weeks on Friday. So about the same as you. Having elcs next Friday though so at least I have an end date.

Everything is such a struggle at the minute isn't it. Am currently trying to get housework done and every 20 mins I have to stop for a while. And I really want to get stuff done lol.

Will be very glad to start getting me back in the new year. I have loved being pg but this last few weeks is a real struggle. And it doesn't help that dp is mad busy at the moment. Its good as he is se so the busiesr he is the more money we have. But he is out of the house 14 hours a day and working weekends too. And then we have loads of paperwork to do as well.

Better than being broke though!

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 04/12/2013 11:20

LTB pistachio Xmas Grin

I am sitting on the sofa on my laptop happily browsing away and then baby decided to shove me so hard it knocked the laptop flying off my lap before I could catch it and onto my foot. Thankfully my laptop is okay. I think I am going to have a bit of a bruise on my foot though...

Alyssa1978 · 04/12/2013 11:46

Congrats meandbumpy fast and painless delivery dust to you xx

MummaDevon · 04/12/2013 13:32

Ooh good luck bumpy that sounds like the show to me!

Frouby I know how you feel, I just went to Tesco and literally waddled round! Everything is such a struggle, even getting off the sofa haha.

Looking forward to hearing how all the ladies in labour get on today :-)

MrsShrubs · 04/12/2013 13:42

Same here mumma and frouby I am utterly exhausted today, just did half hour food bits shop and now I want to sleep.

Have got my new nursing bra on which I got measured for last week and am the most comfortable I've been in ages, so not attractive but so so SO comfy!!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 04/12/2013 13:55

Good luck to everyone who's gone into labour! Flowers

I'm super grumpy now, I'm 39+5,that's more pregnant than I've ever been before! The other DC were born by now.
I'm a hormonal wreck.
I can't stop stressing (which I know won't be helping me go into labour) and I'm just exhausted...and utterly bored at the same time.

I'm booked for a sweep on Friday, which I really want to start labour, obviously, but its my DD's Xmas play on the Saturday morning, and I don't want to miss that...if. Cancel the sweep on Friday though I'd have to wait for Monday...and then it might not even work.
Oh bloody hell - see,I'm stressing again!

Stom91 · 04/12/2013 14:08

Good luck bumpy!
Managed to sell most of our furniture. Flat is looking empty now lol.
Looking at it and was abit sad as even tho we only been there a year we have some good times there. But I can't wait to move and make some new memories :)
And it'll be amazing to get out the bath or shower and not start shivering!! Haha

Dusty04 · 04/12/2013 14:21

Good luck bumpy!

I just started listening to my natal hypnotherapy cd, which a friend recommended.. I was so relaxed I fell asleep and woke up after the birth visualisation bit.. If only hey! :)

itsliz · 04/12/2013 14:29

Oooh it's all going on today! Best of luck meand, sounds like things are progressing well for you so far Smile
Hope Sorelip and Lady are getting on ok too!

Can totally sympathise with all of you that are struggling to do the simplest of things - my mum popped round again this morning and we took a wander into town for coffee, cakes and a bit of shopping. Was really nice and I was even treated to a couple of early birthday presents, but my god it nearly killed me! So relieved to be back home on the sofa now!

Finally got my next MW appointment sorted this morning too which is a relief. Tried to book it weeks ago and was told I could only do it by phoning 48 hours in advance, so rang up and was told there were no appointments left and I should've done it sooner (I bloody tried to!!!) Got really arsey with the woman on the phone and she magically managed to make an appointment appear for me... funny that! Wink

Oh and Whisper, my MacBook won't even fit on my lap any more! I've recently discovered I have the same problems with trays - dinner gets messier every day as it's got further to travel from the plate to my mouth with a bump in the way! Grin

hotcrossbun83 · 04/12/2013 14:34

Good luck bumpy!

Can I ask some advice on nappy bins? Is the nappy bin that wraps the nappies and stores them useful or a waste of space? I want to change nappies upstairs and not take them outside every time, if I use nappy sacks and a normal bin will it be ok to take the bag out every 2-3 days or will it stink by then?

Just packed my hospital bags properly and realised I'm missing a few last items so dragging myself to the shops this afternoon. It's that or clean the bathroom!

mumoftwoboysS · 04/12/2013 14:50

its I have the same problem with trays- have to hold my plate on top of my bump and shovel food in or half of it ends up on my belly!

hotcross well those Nappy bins aren't a necessity but I'd say with pooey nappies you'll want to take them out every day- even after half an hour of sitting around my god do they STINK! So if you don't want to keep taking them out then a bin might be for you! If you just put them in a normal bin the room would soon start to smell like a sewer!

Mogz · 04/12/2013 14:56

Hey you lot, get back in line, I wanted to go next! Grin best of luck to you ladies in labour, sounds like there will be lots of newborns over the next day or so.
I was awake from 2 - 8 and things were getting a bit more regular but then I fell asleep and its all gone again, it's a bloody tease!
