Good luck Sorelip, excited for you but also hormonally jealous, sorry! Best of luck, hope all goes well Smile

39 weeks today and given up trying not to be impatient, lol.
I know I will look back after the event and wonder why I couldn't have just chilled out and waited for nature to take it's course... but right now I can't think about anything else so there!

Can't remember who said about getting hot flushes, but yes I do too. Infact I just go mega hot constantly at night when all the BH and pains get stronger. Feel itchy all over like with prickly heat.

Mogz · 03/12/2013 21:14

Bloody hell Mumma where did your friend give birth? Sounds like she had a bad time of it Sad
Best of luck [Sore], I'm not at all jealous of your imminent newborn snuggles! Hope it all goes swiftly and easily for you.

Alyssa1978 · 03/12/2013 21:25

Good luck sorelip

Roselau · 03/12/2013 21:26

uuuuuuuggghhh i knew it. I just came back from the dr. I'm 37+3, nothing yet. not even started to engage. He also now says she seems small, but he's not too worried because me and DH are not very big.

so thankfully I asked him what's the plan if I go over my 21/12 due date, and he says 'oh, aren't you due on the 27?' NO DONT PUSH MY DUE DATE BACK!! anyways I argued a bit because based on my LMP it's 27th but because I did ovulation induction etc, they changed it to the 21st at the 13 weeks scan. so he said he would change it to reflect the 21st. I got so worried they would let me go 2 weeks past 27.12. that would be horrible. I don't want to be pregnant in 2014. this baby has to come in 2013.

i'm been in a shit mood since then. went to costco and wanted to punch everyone there. seems like people here think costco is a social gathering place? because they serve samples, people just go for their lunch there or what. agh.

bah humbug.

sorelip how exciting!! best of luck to you.
mum sorry you're not feeling great. hang in there.

Chilli81 · 03/12/2013 21:31

i agree with Loki. definite yes to tens machine. this one was dc2 so wasn't sure whether I'd use it this time but got just in case. so glad I did. it helped me so so much. it gave me something to do during contractions and I really felt the difference pain wise when I didn't use. I would say get it if you can ask if it works for you then it's invaluable.
hope you are all ok. just to say to those that are fed up, your babies will be here really soon. like Chelsea said you can go from no symptoms to holding baby really quickly. although it's tiring on the other side, it's so much better that late pregnancy. you are nearly there! Grin

MrsShrubs · 03/12/2013 21:36

Good luck sorelip

Chilli81 · 03/12/2013 21:41

ooh just seen updates. good luck sorelip.

extracrunchy · 03/12/2013 21:47

Ooh good luck Sorelip!!

Roselau I'd also be furious if my due date was put back. Sounds like 21st is accurate though?

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 03/12/2013 22:07

good luck sorelip

LadyMedea · 03/12/2013 22:12

mumma was your friend in a birthing centre? they often don't have beds but sofas, bean bags, mats etc.... Contrary to how much it's seen on OBEM lying down in bed is meant to be the worst position for labour. Wise words from my NCT teacher, 'just cause there is a bed in the middle of the room doesn't mean you have to lie on it!'

Well I'm definitely in early labour - back pain, erratic contractions, pains in legs. Just stuck a heat patch on my back and it's soo good... Randomly Had them in the cupboard but actually I'd recommend getting a couple as they last a lot longer than a hot water bottle.

I've borrowed a TENS machine from my SIL so will be trying it out... Possibly tonight. My local TESCO and Lloyd's Pharmacy hire them out locally so not too late to hire one if anyone wants to use one.

Good luck, sorelip, on your way now!

LadyMedea · 03/12/2013 22:17

Oh and I know this can go on for days... But I'm happy for it to last just long enough for DH to do his exam tomorrow morning... Then active labour come on in!

itsliz · 03/12/2013 22:18

Ooh best of luck Sorelip! Hope everything goes ok, keep us updated!

I'm hoping to hire a TENS machine as I've heard so many good things about them and a MW mentioned they're good if you suffer from back pain, which I have since I was about 5 years old. Haven't really looked into it yet though so does anyone know the cheapest/ best place to hire them and if there's much difference in price between hiring and buying?

As hoped, I'm feeling so much better after an hour and a half of yoga. Going to try to get some sleep now but I'll catch up with everyone's posts in the morning. Night, all Smile

Alyssa1978 · 03/12/2013 23:17

Ooh exciting lady hope it's quick and painless Grin

Roselau · 03/12/2013 23:28

extra yes i was furious. well I've always heard that the most accurate dating is at your 13 week scan which is where they set the final dd. that's the one that is on 21.12 for me. So I'm guessing it's somewhat accurate?? the issue is that I was in the UK until I was 30 weeks, and then I came here and I guess they started using my LMP dd. So yeah, I hope it's now fixed in their systems etc because I've had this date in my head for so long that now I refuse to change it.

Anyways, we're only december 3rd and it really seems like over 50% of the people on this thread have already had their baby or are in labour!!

extracrunchy · 03/12/2013 23:36

Yup Rose I'm counting on going a little bit early! (Please please please...)

PinkWitch803 · 04/12/2013 00:52

Good luck sorelip and lady

violetbean · 04/12/2013 01:26

Good luck sorelip and lady, thinking of you both!

I still have this awful cold and chesty cough that means I can't breathe properly and can't sleep. Today I spent practically all day in bed apart from going to midwife appointment, and I still feel like crap. Argh!

Also I have a dentist appointment today and am really not looking forward to it. Normally I don't mind the dentist but having a disgusting cold and being 38 weeks pregnant doesn't fill me with confidence that it's going to be a relaxing visit. Confused

Chelsea, I think ladies having more than one baby often migrate over to the multiples boards for specialist advice and support! We did have hetsto but unfortunately her beautiful girls didn't make it Sad

Hope you all have a decent night's sleep, fingers crossed! Thanks

Mogz · 04/12/2013 04:34

Right, been up since 2am with achey ribs and back, feeling sick and getting some mild cramps. Could this be the start of things, or will I drift off to sleep and wake up tomorrow with all signs disappeared again? Place your bets!
Hope things are progressing for you LadyM, only not too fast so your DH can sit his exam before its baby time, best of luck to him!

Chelsealady · 04/12/2013 06:56

Mogs any progress hun.

Bloody been up all night the lady next to me is so inconsiderate when she sees to her baby she does not talk she shouts and I had to ask her and her husband to keep the noise down atleast 4 times they were arguing all night! I spoke to the MW like you all said as I really feel sorry for this baby and I am rather worried about him.

On the up side Im going home today with my Indy yaay!

Mogz · 04/12/2013 07:37

Chelsea great news that you and your gorgeous girl are off home today, perfect!
Practically no change here, didnt manage to get back to sleep due to very achey ribs and had all of five mildly painful seconds which stopped me eating some toast about an hour ago but nothing since. I think it's going to be a long ol' day.

Dusty04 · 04/12/2013 07:55

Shattered this morning! Just catching up on posts after a busy few days.. Things move quickly on here these days :)

LadyMedea · 04/12/2013 07:55

chelsea what on earth was that woman's partner doing on the ward overnight... I thought everyone got kicked out so people could sleep? Anyway thank goodness you and Indy get to go home.

My contractions stopped by about midnight, which is good as it allowed me to sleep and DH can go to exam without worrying. Got my neighbour on standby in case anything changes or I just need company - handy living next to a paediatric nurse. Planning on going for a walk with DH this afternoon to get this baby moving again. MW tomorrow so will have sweep if things haven't moved on of their own accord. I know friends who's early labour lasted 3-4 days so I'd like to avoid that!

OP posts:
Mogz · 04/12/2013 07:57

3 - 4 days LadyM!? [faints]

BetterWithCheese · 04/12/2013 08:08

Lady and Mogz hope things get going properly soon!

Wonder how sorelip is getting on as well.

I was up about a million times last night, including being woken up by a nosebleed Hmm. I have a bit of backache and a sort of heavy feeling low down. I have lots of work to finish before Friday so am going to focus on that and then start with the long walks and possibly even [gasp] sex. I'd love baby to be out well before Christmas.

Chelsea Glad you and Indiana are off home today, other couple sound really difficult Sad
