Ooh I have 2 due dates from conflicting scans - 14th and 28th, so let's say 21st. (And bloody hope it's sooner!) DS came at 36+6 so I'm also now more pregnant than I've ever been Grin

Dasie · 02/12/2013 11:22

Congrats Chelsea!! Hoping my labour goes as quickly!!!

I'm still hanging around, 40+2 today and have MW appt tomoro when I'm having a sweep if nothing's occurred by then!!

Have a lovely Monday everyone Grin

NomDeClavier · 02/12/2013 11:55

It's not a brand I know but it looks fine. When you get it check that the straps are firmly anchored - you should be able to feel that an inch or so of strap is sunk into the body and secured by box stitching. Give it a good tug to be sure it's properly sewn. The other thing to double check with the seller is that the dyes are non-toxic.

Yes you absolutely can BF in it as long as baby has good head control. It's quite similar to the biological nurturing position rather than a cradle hold. For that you'd need to take baby out.

Frigg the bathroom sounds a bit of an undertaking!

Our tree went up yesterday!

I'm due 24th, probably still be here in January all on my tod!

PinkWitch803 · 02/12/2013 12:06

I have the mw coming to my house for my appointment today so she can talk about what I need to do to prepare for a home birth. According to scans, I am not 37 weeks until this Thursday, but according to period dates, I am going with tomorrow! Any earlier and my dreams of home water birth will be dashed again.

However, early is highly unlikey as everything still feels very much in tact and the baby keeps teasing me by dropping and then bobbing back up.

I have started experiencing shooting pains in my lower back and period type cramps under my bump, so maybe the baby and body are waiting for the gun to go off on Thursday in a thoughtful and considered manner! Unlikely but hey ho.

It is so exciting to hear about everyones new babies.

We have decided just to put a tree up this year and maybe some lights aroud the fireplace. Not being miserable, but just easier to navigate the home birth with less trauma of tripping over stuff. I wish you all a good day and week and speedy and timely births.

meandbumpy · 02/12/2013 12:09

Thanks nom. Yes I did get a bit confused about whether it's a brand or type of carrier after looking around, but this one's more my price range and looks pretty well made. I will give it a good check over when I get it to make sure though.
That's brilliant about the breastfeeding while wearing, I love the idea of baby being more or less able to help themselves!
So glad you're here to ask these things as I was a little overwhelmed by slings and carriers when I first looked Thanks

Chelsealady · 02/12/2013 13:07

Thanks for all the lovely names and congratulations. Baby no name is now Baby Indiana :)

Just waiting for the doctors to come around and update me but MW thinks she can come out of intensive care today as it was only when she first came out she was having trouble breathing. Im a tad poorly my iron levels are rock bottom so my pulse is high :(

Mogz · 02/12/2013 13:10

Congrats Chelsea, gorgeous name too Smile hope you're both doing well.
It's my due day today but apart from a bit of uncomfy cramping last night this little one is showing no signs of turning up any time soon. MW appointment later.

extracrunchy · 02/12/2013 13:44

Chelsea that's a lovely name!
Hope you feel better soon. I had low iron last time but they fixed me up pretty quickly so hope you'll be home soon Smile

BohemianRaspberry · 02/12/2013 14:11

oooh pretty name and very different chelsea

In a happy mood now - DH came home at lunchtime and just had a lovely half hour together reading the Sunday papers and having lunch. So peaceful.

violetbean · 02/12/2013 14:46

Lovely name Chelsea :-)

Just watched Despicable Me, hmm what's next... Smile

BohemianRaspberry · 02/12/2013 14:47

Dirty Dancing! Followed by Tangled!

I'm finishing off the Tudors boxset on Netflix

Roselau · 02/12/2013 15:42

well i'm away from the computer for two days and there are what, 5 babies out?! haven't caught up on everything but congrats all of you!

had a lovely weekend with my best friend who came to visit with her husband. It was the last real activity I had planned before the birth and it was terrifying to see them go because there is nothing left between me and having to push this baby out. itsliz i think it's you that was saying that your dp is getting more and more excited while you're getting more and more terrified... well same here! DH for the first time last night said 'this will be fun'. eeeek.

had bad rib pains overnight, like my uterus is growing even more and is now taking over my whole rib cage. ouch. but also pain down by pelvis etc. still only at 37+2 though.

All these babies coming early make me realize I really need to order the car seat and stroller. I'm on it today.

will catch up properly!

violetbean · 02/12/2013 15:43

Great suggestions Bohemian! Thanks Smile

NomDeClavier · 02/12/2013 16:56

What pram are you getting rose? I'm so nosy! Is there are lot more choice in the US? Glad you had a good weekend and what a lovely friend! None of my friends came to visit me when I was halfway round the world although it wasn't as glam as LA.

How are you and Lleyton doing Alyssa? Feeding for 5 mins is perfectly normal - the key thing is to watch the output and sounds like there are no issues there!

meand happy to enable help. The world of slings is confusing and really 75% is trial and error finding something that works for you. The good news if it doesn't work is that there's a thriving second hand market!

Rooting for you mogz Got to be your turn next. Would you be the first to go over?

Hope you're enjoying your duvet day violet. I'm torn between wanting this baby to arrive tomorrow or Wednesday and wanting to hang on until after the weekend so I can have my duvet weekend.

Indiana is a gorgeous name, chelsea. Will you give her a nickname? There are so many cute possibilities there....

Mogz · 02/12/2013 17:15

Nom I think I might well be the first overdue! Well, I suppose it's good to be the first something. Now booked in for a stretch and sweep on 9th if nothing happens in the next week [taps foot]
Hope your aches and pains subside Rose

Roselau · 02/12/2013 17:16

nom i went with the Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35 LX Car Seat that fits on the Graco Snugrider Elite. I just wanted something light that fits in/out of the car easily, and the longest possible rear-facing weight as it's the safest.

Then I'm waiting for a generous person to want to make a present and get me the Graco jogger (the car seat fits on it - although I have heard that you can get really any jogger and just get adapters, but this one has good reviews and good price). As I live right close to the beach and boardwalk, I can't wait to go for a jog.

oooh Indiana is super cute chelsea! agreed about the cute nicknames ;)

For sling, I was thinking to wait as they sell a bunch at the breastfeeding clinic which I will go to in the first week to make sure I'm doing everything right. then I can just try them on and figure out which one works best with the baby in it.

astonvanilla · 02/12/2013 17:18

Congratulations to all those who have already popped! I'm expecting ds2 on 14 December. Just had 38 week midwife apt and his head is 4/5ths engaged and he has moved down loads in the last couple of weeks. Asked about the delights of having a swollen vagina, apparently quite normal and she suggested sticking a pad in the freezer. Not sure I can face that yet but if it gets worse who knows?! Ds1 thinks the heartbeat sounds like a train so hope he's not disappointed when his brother arrives!

Good luck to everyone!

Roselau · 02/12/2013 17:19

oh and also, I had my baby registry on amazon (not a real registry, I just used it to list out everything I needed), and they offered a 15% discount for completion, meaning that I got the seat, the stroller, an organic cotton diapering kit, dr brown bottles and nipples, car seat mirror, plus a few bits and bobs for $385, (£235). I saved a ton from amazon's already pretty good prices plus the 15% discount. wahoo!

Roselau · 02/12/2013 17:37

thanks mogz. hope it happens for you soon!!!

itsliz · 02/12/2013 18:12

Completely agree with you Nom! I think Indy would be a gorgeous nickname.

Rose I'm so glad I'm not the only one panicking now, felt so guilty when DP looked all hurt after I said that!
He also confessed after our antenatal class on Saturday that he got butterflies when the midwife mentioned dads getting to have skin to skin contact with the baby after delivery... Awwww!
It's good to know our other halves are on board with everything and getting too stressed out though, I suppose Smile

vanilla That's adorable! I'm sure he'll think his brother is more exciting than any train Wink

I'm 36 weeks today and have decided that I'm going to start operation eviction next week as I want newborn snuggles over Christmas and the opportunity to dress our little one in all sorts of tiny festive outfits! Hehe!

itsliz · 02/12/2013 18:13

Obviously I meant NOT getting too stressed out...

Chelsealady · 02/12/2013 18:14

Nom as Indiana is quit a long name ill probably call her Indi for short sometimes. She is now out of IC and looks different already! Her features are so much like mine very scary ha! Looks nothing like her father thankfully...who by the way hasn't bothered to call even after informing him by text and calling his mum. Ohh well sod him im as happy as can be staring at this little joy!

PistachioTruffle · 02/12/2013 18:22

Indiana is gorgeous Chelsea, and Indi is a great nickname option! So glad she's out of IC. It's a shame your ex is such a moron, but it's him who's missing out on your gorgeous daughter. Hope you get lots of snuggles and rest tonight x

MrsShrubs · 02/12/2013 18:29

astonvanilla you're due the same day as me Smile

So glad she's out of IC chelsea and completely agree with everything pistachio has said!
