Congratulations Chelsea! Fab news! How about Annabelle, Harriet, Isabel or Georgia?

After my mystery wet knickers I had crampy feelings last night, I got my hopes up but then nothing! I have woken up with slight period pains but I'm not holding my breath that it will progress to anything.

Besides, I have a busy day. We put the Christmas tree up yesterday and it looks really shit. It was a mega cheap one from tesco a couple of years ago and it definitely hasn't aged well. Soooo we are off to the garden centre to spend some vouchers on one that you can't see through hopefully! Yay! Anybody else done the tree yet? Are people who have already had babies bothering this year?

Hope everyone is alright. :)

Alyssa1978 · 02/12/2013 08:41

Love the new name whidper Grin

mum forgot to say, my plug was greenish in colour at times.

Alyssa1978 · 02/12/2013 08:43

Our tree going up tomorrow as we are having ds1 birthday and party today as it was meant to be on the day I had the baby.

We have a lovely one you can't see through and it was worth the money as it looks really nice when decorated. Xx

kchapper5 · 02/12/2013 09:00

Haha gannet you've just said 3 of my top girls names we must have similar tastes :)
Our tree and decorations aren't going up till after DPs birthday on the 16th, it's a bit of a mixed day today got my Aunty up today from Dorset so excited to see her later. But DPs is off work as he has had the poos since about 5pm yesterday! And is feeling sorry for himself

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 02/12/2013 09:12

Congratulations Chelsea!!!

Alyssa don't worry about the 5mins BFing sessions, that's how they're supposed to do it,on off on off on off, they dont need as much BM as they do formula as BM is so rich Smile so long as you're getting wet nappies, alls good!

Right,I'm due on the 6th when's everyone else due?!
I might make a list Wink

If I go past Tuesday i'll be more pregnant than I've ever been before...DD was born at 39 weeks dot on and DS was 39+4...both in the morning...in fact at 9:38 and 8:39 respectively. How weird is that? Grin

Today is the day our bathroom starts being ripped out Shock tiles off courtesy of FIL today, plumber in tommorow, then possibly a month of banging and crashing and re tiling before its finished

Problem is,we live in an old 'quirky' house....and the bathroom is the only bathroom (unless you count the Outdoor loo, which actually, weirdly has a shower in it Confused) and the bathroom is off of our bedroom, like and en suite...

I mentioned moving our bedroom into the DC room and the DC into the playroom in the attic, but he made lots of Hmm faces about it,as did FIL (he said he'd 'work around us' but that just means delaying the bathroom and i dont really want to have to say "im trying to sleep can you feck off please" every day...)
...but seriously I dont know how I'm supposed to rest or get a newborn to sleep through hours of banging and dust for weeks on end!

Maybe he'll see sense after the first day or so....

I think his main issue is moving our insanely heavy oak bed around teeny corners... But we could just move the mattress...right?

BohemianRaspberry · 02/12/2013 09:22

Congratulations chelsea! Hope mine's that quick!

Names? Unusual but nice: Elyssa, Karina, and Seren

upthe I'm the 12th but aside from BH and increased aches and pains, I have nothing yet. Hoping gardening today will move things along! Three hours of decorating the house for Christmas didn't work.

MrsShrubs · 02/12/2013 09:28

Congratulations chelsea !!!! Girls names which aren't really common- Ayla, Kiri, Peyton, Darcy, Alexa

I'm due on 14th so still 12 days till DD, I can see me going over though as he's showing no signs of going anywhere at the moment!

meeeee. EDD 19th Dec Grin

Sorelip · 02/12/2013 09:43

Congratulations Chelsea! I don't have any girls names to add, have always known I was having boys. Over 7lb is a good size, I hope she's back with you asap.

I'm due on 22nd according to my 20 week scan, but the babybond scan I had at 34+5 says 26th, so who knows! I'm hoping that if I'm still pregnant on 30th, my consultant will put me in for ARM or c-section, depending on the condition of my cervix at the time. I've made it clear I don't want to go much over 41 weeks, what with my 40+13 baby weighing 9lb 9.5.

Sorelip · 02/12/2013 09:44

I'll stick with 22nd.

UpThe Our full stats thread can be found here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1803742-December-2013-Stats#42118070
It hasn't been touched since October though so we ought to start ticking off the names of everyone that's already given birth Grin

Gannet Tradition dictates that the tree has to be up before my birthday on 16th (complete opposite to kchapper5 DP!) so we got ours sorted on Saturday Grin
We normally go for a real one but decided it would be too much hassle what with everything else going on this year so got a £30 artificial one from B&Q and it's actually really, really nice (might have to post a pic in the FB group as I'm quite proud of it, haha!)

Woke up in a total panic yesterday realising that it's finally December and there's every possibility that I'll have a baby by the end of the month.
Turned over and asked DP (half jokingly) if it's too late to change my mind and he got really upset, bless him!
Seems he's getting more excited as time goes on, whereas I'm slowly getting more and more terrified...

hotcrossbun83 · 02/12/2013 09:51

Congrats Chelsea!!

Me! 20th Dec, no signs of early arrival

Sherbet27 · 02/12/2013 09:54

meandbumpy · 02/12/2013 09:58

Aww congratulations chelsea, she finally made an appearance! Sound like you did a fantastic job which will be great for baby and sounds like a good weight too.
Some names that I like that either I can't use or don't go with surname are Annabelle, Georgia, Mollie, Poppy.

Kchapper - we both have great taste in names!

Up - DH did our bathroom over the summer. It took bloody ages, cant imagine it will be fun with a newborn! Good luck though - I'm sure it will be fine!

I'm due on the 13th but am pretty sure I'll still be here in February! It's weird how much I want my waters to break, even if it will look like I've wet myself in the supermarket or wherever and how much I want to feel pain. Pregnancy does strange things to your head!

meandbumpy · 02/12/2013 10:32

Nom Thanks again for your advice on baby carriers over the past few weeks. I've just picked a mei tai one on ebay and finally committed to buy it as the padded back straps look really supportive. Will you have a look-see and give me your approval? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MEI-TAI-BABY-CARRIER-SLING-REVERSIBLE-STARS-in-straight-cut-model-/270948587155
Also, I was wondering if when you've got baby in one of these can they breastfeed? That might be a silly question as I don't know a lot about breastfeeding positions but it looks like babies head would be quite close to the boobs so wondering if they could sort of just latch on when they fancied it or would you still have to take them out? I'm just thinking that if you can feed while they're in the sling then it might give a bit of privacy when out in public and sat with dps entire family on christmas day with ma tits out Grin

Stom91 · 02/12/2013 10:35

Myself and rose are due on 21st dec :)

PistachioTruffle · 02/12/2013 10:46

I'm due 11th too, no signs of labour or anything though. Christmas tree is going up this weekend, If i could get them out of the loft myself I'd do it today!

16th here, no signs yet.

Was up half the night coughing, moved into spare room so DH could get some sleep as he has a long day at work today.

So, today is definitely a duvet day for me! About to pick some DVDs to watch, starting with 'Bridesmaids'. Any other recommendations very welcome! (we have a big DVD collection so chances are we might have some of the ones you suggest!) Smile

lisbapalea · 02/12/2013 10:59

I am due (elcs) on 17th Dec, so have got just two more weeks of getting organised! Don't feel any signs of arrival earlier than that, but now that I have written that down it's probably tempting fate isn't it?! My actual due date is 22nd Dec so I would be surprised if anything happened earlier than the 17th, but the track record for this thread makes me feel like I shouldn't make any assumptions!

I have just updated my details on the stats list - I wasn't sure if it was worth copying the list onto this thread but decided against as it would probably mean we'd use up this thread by the end of the day with all the updates!

Congrats to Chelsea - am still madly struggling with names here, so afraid I am a useless person to ask for advice! Sounds like you were incredible during labour - well done!

Apart from DD's crazy number of advent calendars (how can she have 7 at the age of 3? I used to have one if I was lucky!), we haven't got any Christmas decorations up - planning to do that the weekend before DC2's arrival, and hopefully also combine it with a trip to see Father Christmas at our local National Trust place so that DD has a bit of a Christmassy treat before the following week which is likely to make her feel a bit out-done by the new baby. I am getting quite worried about how she will handle it all, even though she is being so sweet and excited about it - I just don't want her to feel like she's second fiddle to the new one. But then again it will probably be good for her to understand the world doesn't in fact revolve around her... Does anyone have any tips on managing an almost 4 yr old with a new sibling?! Maybe a bit late to be asking this question!!
