Congrats thistle!!!

moominleigh94 · 13/12/2013 23:16

Congrats thistle, welcome Lynca, yay Team Yellow McBaby Grin

Got my re-scan on the 20th but we're going to ask them to not tell us the sex unless we have a mad moment of weakness Grin

Starting to master knitting now Grin hoping to make a blanket (yellow, of course), for Mini Moomin. Also got a name thread up on the baby names board, trying to gauge opinions for some of the names we're considering. Already been called a posh hippy - um no, poor student but thanks Grin - and been told no-one will know how to pronounce Celyn, even though we live in Wales where it's a word everyone who speaks Welsh knows how to pronounce Hmm

impatientlywaiting · 13/12/2013 23:47

Congrats Thistle. Lovely news.

mrsmummytobe · 14/12/2013 08:53

Wow congratulations on all the lovely scan news!

Moomin a good friend of mine named her baby Callie (well full name was actually callista but she is known as Callie) & it really suits her. It's such a sweet name.

As a teacher I think you get put off soo many names! Emilia & Laura for girls names are now completely out for me due to annoying pupils!! Think we've found a name but keeping it to ourselves for now.

Xavielli · 14/12/2013 09:03

I'm so tired. Went to 2 parties last night - one in a pub for a friends pregnancy announcement (yay) and the other my mummy friends annual Xmas mulled wine and pj party. Such a fantastic nice but didn't get home til nearly 2am. Felt like a teenager again Grin sadly this didn't stop the babies from waking @ 6.30!

Congrats on all the lovely scans, mine is Thursday. Starting to get a bit excited now...

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/12/2013 09:05

Congratulations thistle ive got two girls and can understand how chuffed you are to be having one :)

Hello and welcome lynca

Congratulations on team yellow mcbaby

mrsmummy I know what you mean, doing childminding I know kids in several different years at school and the naughty kids really do put you off certain names!

Congratulations on the scan news thistle and whoever else has had scans - I'm posting with the app and I can't scroll up and remind myself of names, sorry!
Today I have loads of housework to do as MIL is coming to look after ds for the night so dh and I can go to our work Xmas party. The house work has slipped a lot lately due to working so much and general being pregnant and knackered all the time.

I'm probably going to be the only sober one at the Xmas party. Envy and I just know I won't be able to walk in the heels! Lol

moominleigh94 · 14/12/2013 09:41

mrs I think top of our shortlist is probably Celyn but Callie as nickname at the moment. People on my thread have got so caught up in the pronounciation, some are coming in and saying they'd call her Ceiling and I should give her a name that's easy for English people to pronounce on the off-chance she moves to England. I just wonder if they'd say the same to French people and Spanish people and German people thinking of giving their babies a name in the native tongue? Hmm

Top of the shortlist atm is Celyn "Callie" Georgia for a girl, and Dylan Rhys for a boy, but Alistair Dylan is on the radar too Grin

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/12/2013 09:42

dobe lose the heels as soon as you get there. If anybody asks say your doing the barefoot and pregnant thing! I hate wearing high heels, most transvestites would walk better than me in a pair!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/12/2013 09:44

moomin whats the problem with Celyn? They're just being awkward bitches on the name thread. Im not particularly in touch with my welsh side but surely any moron can figure it out?!

OP posts:
mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/12/2013 09:47

Im touchy because I got the same reaction over the name Xander.

The worst she'll get is celine as opposed to the welsh kehlin pronunciation.

Hi all. I am a newbie here at mumsnet. I have a 4 yo lg and i am 18+4 with bby number two. It still doesnt feel real and i cant remember how to look after a baby. I am finally no longer being sick and am feeling rather well which is a totally new experience as i struggled all the way through last time. Nice to meet you x

dobedobedo · 14/12/2013 10:00

Welcome Jelly!

Mumof2, I'm also bringing some sparkly flats just in case. Grin

moominleigh94 · 14/12/2013 10:04

mumof2 They're very elitist on the naming threads, if you don't pick ones like Ottillie and Humphrey and Clementine (lovely names but just not my style), you're a chav who won't be accepted. I've been called a posh hippie and I'm sure if I posted my full list, I'd be called a chav. Foreign names are out apparently, too. Think I'll stick to Nameberry for name advice in the future Grin
Love Xander, it's on our list :)

Welcome jelly

Would anyone be interested in a secret, private FB group for the Definitlies? Not for chatting as there are some members who don't have Facebook, but for sharing bump/scan pictures more easily?

Jellymum1 · 14/12/2013 10:21

I like facebook i can use it easy peasy. Still getting used to navigating around here i keep replying in the wrong places x

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 14/12/2013 10:21

I was born and bred in Hereford so no, celyn wouldn't be a problem there at all (although as close to wales without being in it. Cmyri bith moomin - pwb ic!

ThePollyAndTheIvy · 14/12/2013 10:57

Moomin I agree about the name boards, I understand by posting we're asking for opinions but if it doesn't fit the mould you get shot down!

Xavielli · 14/12/2013 11:04

The name boards are strange and daddy. Take Eliana for example, when I named dd this 8 years ago it was HATED! Now people seem to love it. Xavier was the same. Just ignore it xx

Xavielli · 14/12/2013 11:05

That would be faddy rather than Daddy

ThistletoeAndWine · 14/12/2013 11:30

I use fb more than I use mn

moominleigh94 · 14/12/2013 11:44

Righty tighty group is set up, it's secret so won't be public, PM me if you want to be added to it :)

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 14/12/2013 12:08

Oh I am tempted to set up Facebook just so I can join... :(

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/12/2013 13:03

nanny are we the only ones not on facebook?

OP posts:
Spirael · 14/12/2013 13:24

I did have the argument that I can MN at work but not FB... But now I can't MN at work anymore so FB is actually fine for me now. Wink

rebeccax2 · 14/12/2013 13:47

I'm in for Facebook.

I'm also off to check out the naming thread. I'm really struggling!
