Thanks for the reassurances! It's one of those things that's probably nothing, but could be something so they're being cautious. Got my next appointment on Wednesday so fingers crossed!

Blanket I have an anterior placenta and feel the odd bit of movement but not a great deal. It seems to depend on how I'm sat or lying.

Name wise we're a bit stuck! We had a girl's name locked in (Bethany Lillian, I absolutely adore it) but hadn't really thought of boy's names! Jory is one possibility, which is the Cornish variant of George (as I'm proudly Cornish!). I also really like Alexander. This name choosing malarky is hard!

moominleigh94 · 13/12/2013 09:54

Morning everyone :)

Love all of those names MrsFoo - Leo is gorgeous, Fox is unusual but also interesting and I love Sam!
We were dead set on Saffron Celyn for ages - now the current favourite is Celyn Georgia, but she'll be Callie for short (we love Callie as a nickname and prefer it to Kelly so if she has to have any nickname we'll establish it amongst family at least as Callie)
The boy's name at the top of the shortlist is Dylan Rhys Edward, but we both love Alistair too, and the possibility of Rory as a middle name for something. So he could end up being Alistair Dylan. We're keeping our options open until we see him/her for real now Grin

Sorry to hear you're not having a great day wm

After my scan yesterday I had a 13 hour rehearsal - I was there from 10am until just before 11pm - and I'm absolutely exhausted, my voice has gone as last night was a singing rehearsal after yesterday's full dress rehearsal, everything hurts and I need to be in at 11 again today... why am I doing this to myself? I'm seriously considering not going in, because I'm really not sure my body is up to it.

impatientlywaiting · 13/12/2013 10:53

Had a healthy 20 week scan today. Was lovely appointment as midwife went through everything in loads of detail. So funny though as the baby looks so much like my dad in the profiled shots.

LongTailedTit · 13/12/2013 11:27

Yay for impatiently! :)

LongTailedTit · 13/12/2013 11:31

MrsFoo - DH likes Fox for this one too, we have an odd surname tho so I'm not sure I'd want the kid to have two unusual names! Quite tempted tho...

mumof2aimingfor4 · 13/12/2013 12:14

Sorry not posted for a couple of days.

impatiently really glad your scan went well and love the fact that little one looks like its grandad :)

Alyss hope your healing well and glad that op went ok. Hope it has done the job perdectly for the twins.

Sorry forgotten names of those feeling crappy, hope the weekend brings rest and better feelings.

Had my 16 week appointment (at 16+6, but whose counting!) Anyway....they checked my cervix again as she wasn't 100% convinced it was only my bladder that prolapsed. Said it seems ok but will have a pessary fitted if I prolapse again.
She gave me a quick re assurance scan which was really kind of her, showed me babys heart pumping away and its head and waited for a few seconds in the same spot so I could see bubs having a kick about.
I didnt realise how built up I had got over it until I just started crying at the traffic lights when I left the hospital. So so relieved, but still under a no lifting and plenty of rest policy.

Ah mumof2 glad to hear you've had a good look at your baby!

16 week appt felt like a whole lot of nothing really Sad sat waiting for 45 mins past my appt time, midwife came to get me after letting us sit watching her having a chinwag for about 10 minutes- made me feel a whole lot better. Heard the baby's heartbeat, was quite quiet, but the midwife wasn't worried, took my blood pressure but didnt really do alot else.

Roll on the 20 week scan to see a picture of him again!

Hope those of you having a tough time are feeling a bit better.

hamncheese · 13/12/2013 15:59

I feel most movement when lying on my back. Anterior placenta here.

RuldolfsFlea · 13/12/2013 18:12

Good to hear that the baby is fine and you are taking it easy mumof2aiming

Wm sounds like you are having a proper 'Friday the 13th'

I've an anterior placenta too and rarely feel the kicks. Only if I'm lying on back. I'm at 18 weeks and this is DC3 so my stomach muscles are shot. Probably why I can feel the kicks. But they feel very light, more like a tiny nudge.

Lynca · 13/12/2013 19:11

Hi everyone! Long time lurker here, thought it was about time I came out of the shadows and joined you Smile

I'm 19 weeks pregnant today with identical twin girls! This is my first pregnancy. I had my anomaly scan today and all is looking good, neither twin looks to be dominant, both growing at an even healthy rate Smile
I've been feeling them moving and was looking forward to feeling proper kicks, but found out today that I have an anterior placenta. Does anyone know how many weeks ill be before I can feel them kicking? My partner is dying to feel them too bless him! Grin

rebeccax2 · 13/12/2013 19:31

Welcome lynca :-)

How exciting to have identical little girls. I'm unsure about feeling the baby, I'm wondering if I felt the first flutter today at 18 weeks or if I'm just feeling wind. :-/

Lots of anterior placentas here - I'm not sure what that is?

xx

Lynca · 13/12/2013 19:47

Thanks Rebecca Smile

It could well have been your baby you were feeling! When I first felt them I thought it was wind too but the more I felt it the more I realised what it was. I would describe it as sort of a cross between gas and a tummy rumble Grin
As I understand it having an anterior placenta basically means that the placenta is positioned at the front of your uterus so it can cushion the babies movements so you don't feel them as early as you would if you had a posterior placenta.

impatientlywaiting · 13/12/2013 19:54

Welcome Lynca, glad that you've joined us as our second set of twins! So exciting!

I'm another one with anterior placenta. I feel the baby kicking everyday, have done since about 18+4 I think? I have felt him when I'm lying down, when I'm walking around or sitting up. Which has been lovely as I thought that it would be ages before I felt them when I heard it was anterior. Looking at my scan pic though I can't imagine DH ever being able to feel them, the placenta is as wide as the baby is on the photo so I'm not sure he'll ever kick hard enough so DH will feel it?

Hezbean · 13/12/2013 20:06

I'd been feeling movement for about a week very low down. I have a high anterior placenta so I guess what i had been feeling was below that.

Then I didn't feel any movements the last two days - even though I know it's early days movement wise I was beginning to worry a bit but luckily I've felt some flutters this afternoon.

Lynca · 13/12/2013 20:11

Thanks Impatient, how exciting that you're feeling kicks already! I've been feeling the girls moving for a good few weeks now, I feel them at least a couple of times a day, mostly when I'm lying on my back. At the moment it just feels like they are squirming around a bit, I assume an actual kick feels different? My DP is convinced he felt a little tap against his arm when he was cuddling me in bed the other night, I was asleep though so didn't notice it!
Ah well I guess it's only a matter of time before I start getting walloped, I imagine before long ill be begging them to sit still for just a seconds peace lol Grin

Lynca · 13/12/2013 20:14

Hezbean glad to hear it, naughty baby for worrying you! Wink

loopylou52 · 13/12/2013 20:23

Welcome lynca and congrats on your twins!

When did you all get told where your placenta is? It wasn't mentioned at my 12 week scan so I guess I'll ask at the scan next week.

McBaby · 13/12/2013 20:23

Had my 20 week scan today and have a happy healthy yellow baby inside.

Lynca · 13/12/2013 20:28

Great news Mcbaby - is it yellow because they couldn't see or have you decided on a surprise?

Thanks Loopylou Smile . I was only told today at my 19 week scan.

Hezbean · 13/12/2013 20:38

Lynca welcome!!!! How exciting having identical twins you must be thrilled.

Hezbean · 13/12/2013 20:42

And great news to all the other scannees!
Ours isn't til 3rd January. Excited to see the little one again. We will be on team yellow unless it's a flasher!

Choppa · 13/12/2013 20:52

elastagirl and blanket... Thanks for your earlier replies. I feel that I am snapping sometimes but it drives me mad that there is this assumption that I want a girl. blanket I have only suffered one previous miscarriage so nothing like what you have been through but I know what you mean about just wanting to tell people to do one!! I had someone telling me old wives taleS to get a girl blah blah blah. I'm just looking forward to Xmas when we can tell everyone we are having boy 2.

moomincongrats on team yellow

Can't remember who asked but we had a real last minute name change with our DS1. About an hour before I went into labour we were out walking and I just had a complete mind change to Charlie which hadn't even really made our top 5 list!! We just agreed that William wasn't quite right (which had been no 1 choice) and then he was born 10 hours later and just looked like a Charlie :)

McBaby · 13/12/2013 21:22

We wanted to be on team yellow we had a surprise the first time through choice and want to do the same this time :)

ThistletoeAndWine · 13/12/2013 22:04

It would appear mini thistle is a girl!!!! Thrilled isn't the word!!! All sizes good for dates xxx

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 13/12/2013 22:33
