It's been weird. First bereavement I've had (apart from a great-uncle when I was about 7, didn't really take that in much) so I'm feeling a bit lost. Can't quite get past the idea that my grandpa is going to be put into a box, wearing shirt, suit, jumper and one of his lovely ties that he was so proud of. And then he'll be cremated. Really really hard to wrap my head around. Only recently I helped him choose a tie/jumper combo, he was so keen on looking smart and well put together.
Can't quite believe it

CurlsLDN · 04/12/2013 14:11

Hi everyone, I'm new to the thread, glad to have found you all!

I'm expecting my first baby on the 7th May. Got a little bump now, though I have lost weight in the first trimester due to morning sickness! It's getting better now, but still have off days.

My gender scan isn't until 2nd jan, I'm with Kings Hospital in London and they don't do them until the 23rd week. I wish it were sooner, but at least that means baby will be a bit further on when we next see him or her!

Choppa · 04/12/2013 14:24

Hi All

Long time no see!!

I've been keeping up to speed but never time to post. I am currentky sitting at Schipol airport having been away with work since sunday. I'm missing my little Chops and realy want to get home.

Lots of ups and downs I see.

Littlejust reading aboit what is going on with you is brining tears to my eyes...I am so hoping all is ok for you and your bubs.

Mrs Foo rough stuff especially at this time of year..disbelief will be with you for a while I think...

Welcome Curls

So we are joining team blue :) Had our gender scan last week and very happy and excited. Our son is particularly over the moon at the idea of a brother. Fingers crossed for the 20 weeks scan on Xmas eve and then we'll start to tell people more, facebook etc etc. I;m not at all surprised that we are having another boy...it was what I expected. We have a name too so sorted.

We have also ordered our pram. Bargain from Mothercare. Its basically a stroller with car seat so very light and simple...would highly recommend. Its the Joie Brisk...got it for £94 including car seat...absolute bargain. After dealing with a very heavy all singing all dancing travel system last time I knew I just wanted a stroler this time.

Anyway, better go and get my flight.

Love to all

Chops xx (17+2)

Choppa · 04/12/2013 14:25

Apologies for my terrible typing and typos...my flight is calling xx

MrsFooCough · 04/12/2013 17:42

Thank you everyone - DH has a theory that there's a balance of souls, so for each new one that comes in an old one must go out...maybe my grandpa is one of our little beans Smile that would make me feel better maybe, that it's not been in vain. I like that.

hamncheese · 04/12/2013 18:02

So sorry to hear your sad news foo take care of yourself and glad your DH is there for you.

Great to hear positive progress little

Um.. I've been told three times today "omg you are due MAY!? Look at the SIZE of you! You've still AGES to go" thanks guys. Basically I am a fatso.

ThePollyAndTheIvy · 04/12/2013 18:08

Ham I went to bed looking plump and have woken up with a full on bump... It's such a strange feeling!

impatientlywaiting · 04/12/2013 18:14

So pleased to hear of the improvements Little. Hope they can put the stitch in soon.

I am huge now. Put a frightening amount of weight on. I'm usually quite slim so had always presumed I would be one if those people who just look like they have a football up their top. But no, I've got new bits of cellulite springing up as far as my knee!! My face seems to have taken on moon like proportions and there is no hiding my bump now.

loopylou52 · 04/12/2013 18:15

ham some people are just plain rude!

Welcome and congrats to curls and congrats to choppa on your 'team blue' news! Smile

Excellent progress little! It sounds like baby little is a fighter! I take it all was well when they scanned you (aside from baby being shy)? I think you said Noah's anniversary is today - hope you're doing ok. Thanks

FrightFlea · 04/12/2013 18:21

I hope things keep improving for you LittleBairn. My thoughts are with you

Sorry for your loss MrsFoo.

I'm forgetting all the time how many weeks I'm at. Bumped the bump into the door the other day. It's poking out a lot and I'm forgetting it is there. Soon I'll need extra long arms to get the dishes washed.

Minions · 04/12/2013 19:46

littlebairn, well done on getting through the last few days. And so great to hear good news too. Will keep praying for a healthy, happy baby and not too soon :)

mrsfoo sorry to hear your news, condolences to you and your family.

moominleigh94 · 04/12/2013 20:14

So glad things are improving LittleBairn, been thinking about you today Thanks

Exhausted after rehearsal today. Had a McDonalds and now I'm sitting on the be. I can't/don't want to move. I feel huge. I am huge. Bump is getting bigger by the day.

19+2 today.

Chip86 · 04/12/2013 20:29

someone else said i could have a desk with a bit cut out for bump or one that goes up and down, one woman i work with never had kids said, Are you seriouse she is only pregnant, the world is stupid, she decided to get pregnant why should the rest of us suffer. not sure how me having a diffrent table would make her suffer she then went on and on i just smiled and node i know she hates people with kids because she never got a year off to do nothing like thats what mat leave is a uear to go on a jolly
People make you laugh dont they

LittleBairn · 04/12/2013 22:35

My situation changed drastically earlier tonight when my waters broke suddenly. We always knew that was the risk of having an examination but we didn't have much choice if we wanted to move onto being proactive about stopping the cervix opening.

I'm not in labour yet, but it was clear from the amnotic fluid that the baby passed meconium and is probably distressed so I can only hope it happens quickly for all our sakes. It's a comfort to know the baby will be buried along side its brother, they won't be alone.

When we have recovered we will TTC again for one last baby the knowledge that this pregnancy gained means I will have a preventive stitch and hopefully avoid this situation again. Or we will consider surrogacy.

I wish you all well with your spring babies may they bring you great joy.

Isean · 04/12/2013 22:42

Oh Little I don't know what to say Flowers My heart goes out to you. xx
