Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dreamydowler · 27/07/2006 10:15

Im sure the walk to the park will probably kill me but i will probably kill the kids if I have to sit in with 5 of them all summer the boys have a bowling competition today trampolining and then my 16 yr old daughter is taking them swimming so im hoping to just rest under the shade of a tree somewhere I have tons to do at home still it is a complete mess but Im just going to shut the door on it and hope the magic fairies come and sort it for me whilst Im out

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 10:25

i think my cat ate my magc fairies

great, was about to put dd down for nap and next door hae started drilling so she's huddled on my lap terrified

Salamander · 27/07/2006 10:35

Booby....Haven't had chance to scan through all posts but just wondered what is happening as regards your birth now? have they agreed to give you a section? How are you feeling? xx

dressedupnowheretogo · 27/07/2006 11:53

Salamander · 27/07/2006 12:06

Ahh I see Booby - poor guy!!!!

pucca · 27/07/2006 12:16

Booby...Do you still feel the same way about wanting a section? Just don't forget if it is truly what you want then defo push for it, its your body, your baby, and your decision, don't let them talk down to you, or try and talk you out of what you really feel would be best for you.Hope all goes well with your appointments

I have just been reading our first "due in Aug" thread, can't believe how quick the time has gone...scary!! To think the finishing post is in sight now is very strange lol. It is nice to read back though, how we were all suffering with morning sickness etc.

dressedupnowheretogo · 27/07/2006 12:36

well i deffo want one but i think my cons has the final say but ive been to see the mw led unit and con led unit and spoke to the consmw who is in charge so ive done everything she asked me to do and i have made my descion so i dont see how she can turn me down but who knows pucca

the cons is god after all in this

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 12:54

fell asleep on couch with dd, all sore now

booby, don't worry babes i'm sure you'll get what you want. when she sees how certain you are this is the right choice for you even after you've studied all the options she'll have no choice but to let you have the cs

dressedupnowheretogo · 27/07/2006 13:00

have u had any castor oil yet pink

olivo · 27/07/2006 13:02

Booby, good luck, I hope they listen to you.

I'm ashamed to say i havent really thought about the birth, as i don't want to panic myself. I went to the docs this morning, all ok, my group b strep test came back negative (i know this can change but at least for now......)my gp says that i am carrying plenty of fluid whereas the midwife said its all baby! i am looking and measuring pretty big but I am trying not to get het up that everyone's opinion is different!

having read how organised all of you seem to be, i am going to get my birth plan done and my bag packed by the weekend. And then next week, i'm going to buy a couple of newborn clothes!

hope everyone else is ok today, and managing the heat - i thought we were supposed to get a break in the weather?!?!

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 13:04

nope, going to pick it up while out and i have nothing to do tomorrow so will take some tonight

how much did your friend take to get things going?

olivo · 27/07/2006 13:12

Pink - have you ever tried it? its gross!
good luck!!!!!

eenywifemum · 27/07/2006 13:20

I must read melsy's link posted the other day about castor oil, i didnt yesterday as my eyes were bad. I want to know how soon I can start taking it!! I am 35 weeks tomorrow. Good, but 37 would be better!!

Olivo dont worry you are pretty organised as well!! You'll get it all done!

This weekend we have our neices staying with us (ages approx - 7, 14, 16 but i can never remember without working it out) I have decided they wont mind a trip to Mothercare so I can get most of the bits & pieces I still need. I just cant wait another week to shop, I've been waiting all month as we have been strapped for cash this month. Been on sick pay now for 6 months which trust me, we feel!

I am so excited for Arabica!! I cant wait to hear how she and the baby are!! Been thinking about them loads!

dreamy, I am another here who is amazed at how much you do!! Really hon, you have my full admiration! Sal REALLY doesnt want any more children anyway but the one thing that makes me think one is enough is I have had such a dreadful pregnancy I dont want to go through it again while looking after a toddler. You have SIX while you are going it!! Will this be your last?

Booby i really hope your consultant listens to you. If you have a hard time expressing yourself with the consultant maybe it would help to write down your reasons why you want one while you are calm?

Pucca - believe it or not I Cant remember who asked about the Braxton hicks, me or BHM! haha I must think we are the same person or something! But either way I know I was wondering about it. I'm glad to know not all 1st time mums have loads of them as I have only had a few and that only when I have over done it physically. And who knows maybe they werent even BH!

Melsy and Pink you both sound like productive things are happening!! Lucky girls!! I am so excited. Anyone want to place bets on who is next?

olivo · 27/07/2006 13:28

eeny, I am 36 wks today and havent had any BH. hope that doesnt mean i have a long time to go

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 13:32

olivo, it can't be worse than i'm feeling now! put it this way i'm slim and people keep telling me i've a small bump but i've got a bloody huge baby jammed in there who is determined to knock out all my ribs and permanently seperate my hips before he goes!

god i whine on alot about myself girls and most of you are probably feeling even worse.

can we elect dreamy thread supermom? can't get over how much she's constantly got on either... know for a fact i'd never cope!

olivo, can't believe how laid back you are! with dd i had my bag packed at 27 weeks and owned most of mothercares newborn range

eeny, weekend shopping sounds fun... bet the nieces will enjoy it too

olivo · 27/07/2006 13:43

can't blame you pink!
by the way, I'm not laid back, just cant get my act together! was so busy with work and finishing then since friday, been doing not very much cos of the heat. even now, am thinking of a lie down when i have stacks to do.

please, someone, give me some motivation.......

eenywifemum · 27/07/2006 13:50

Olivo I will struggle to give you motivation because i havent got any either! I do not do ANYTHING during the day anymore - its too hot. In the evenings I tidy up a little bit in short burts as more than 10 mins totally wipes me out.

Hopefully this weekend it will rain loads and we can all get things done. Can you get stuff done on line? Ok tell us what you need to do still and I Will try and help you think of the least work filled way of doing it!! Go on challange me!

Pink you DO NOT moan a lot about yourself!! Trust me, I always think i do!!! You always sound cheery adn when you moan you have very good reason!

Why do my hips hurt so much at night while I am trying to sleep?? I have to be on one of them and it always hurts.

I will vote for dreamy as the thread supermum!! We're all supermums but really, she is pretty amazing doing this with 6 kids!

trix1 · 27/07/2006 14:41

Hello everyone, today I am so tired, I have had loads of energy the last couple of weeks but today I cant get off the settee! Plus im getting cramps which are quite uncomfortable, I want it to be a sign but I bet its not.

Im really tempted to try the castor oil but is it too early at 37 weeks should I wait til 39?

I dreamt last night I had a girl by c/s.

I hope you are all bearing up, better than me becuase I feel so lethargic and crap.

eenywifemum · 27/07/2006 14:41

I'm sure you;ve all heard this damn heat is supposed to carry on through August.

SO...

So much for all those dozens of adorable newborn babygros I have collected!! Looks like Alex will be in a nappy and not much else, at the most a vest!

trix1 · 27/07/2006 14:42

Eeny - thats what I was thinking too. Providing baby comes soon he/she will only wear a nappy for the first month.
