dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:24

I know what you mean booby but there is a difference between blatently not giving a damm and forcing baby to smoke twenty a day and trying really hard like you all pregnancy and having one only today and you felt guilty too its not like you didnt give a s**t

PinkTulips · 26/07/2006 22:27

booby, i think it's women's way of trying to prepare you for whats coming so you won't be too shocked IYKWIM, it's not meant to freak you out i'd say, just to warn you.

are you going to be telling people it was an em-cs then?

dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:33

its really noones business but yours booby although I know its nice to be able to talk decisions through and bounce ideas off a friend or relative but you have to remember you are the babys mum and from this day on any decisions you make are yours and yours alone to make I mean I have a rota in my house for chores and nights in and out so everyone gets their fair share my sister thinks its silly but the way I bring my children up is my decision based on whats right for me them and us as a family your birth choices are yours and noone elses based on the same what is right for you your child and your partner it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks or their experiences everyones experiences are so very different. Do you remember girls telling you what the first period or first kiss was like its very similar everyone has different tales to tell but its up to you the way you deal with it

dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:38

it will be really interesting to see what sort of births and birthweights we all have in comparison to what we ourselves expected and the midwives and doctors expected

dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:39

goodnight booby hope you get a good nights sleep tonight

PinkTulips · 26/07/2006 22:42

i'm pretty sure my gp is right about me anyway.... i'm soooo huge compared to last time! and my bump is all baby so there no hope it's just a big bump unfortunately!

booby, like dreamy said... it's your choice how you bring baby into this world and how you raise her.... don't let anyone elses opinions bother you

dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:48

Im huge too baby cant have much space left in there I go next wednesday to find out how big they think she is my 5th was 8lb after the others where all aqbout 7 71/2 then last one was 9lb 1oz I think this one will be about 91/2

dreamydowler · 26/07/2006 22:55

anyway pink Im off to lie down not that I expect to get much sleep as the heat is still unbearable but need to stretch out goodnight and hope you manage to get a good nights sleep

eenywifemum · 26/07/2006 23:09

looks like I just missed all of you!

eenywifemum · 26/07/2006 23:14

evening everyone!

god this heat is awful. tonight I have been so cranky because of it. Sal saw a weather report that said there are supposed to be storms and it should get cooler but I havent seen any sign of that yet.

My head is better after taking a couple of paracetomal and lying down for a while (yay!)

Booby you need to do what you feel is right for you but if I were you I would just tell it like it is regarding your section. You have nothing to be ashamed of. But if you feel more comfortable not giving everyone all the facts, that is your business!

Aprilgirl I am sorry your MW scared you. I had the same thing happen yesterday (been told he is back to back as well, I forgot to mention that before) Try to keep calm over it as none of us know what will happen (easier said than done!) The NICE MW I spoke to last night said to lean forward a lot (like over a birthing ball etc) to get baby to go back to front.

purple - where are you located? Glad your pool is getting sorted out though.

Arabica - GOOD LUCK!!! I bet she is so nervous and excited right now! I cant wait to hear how her and the baby are!

pucca · 26/07/2006 23:34

Hi everyone.

Arabica...Bet you are so excited, i would be good luck hope the section goes ok for you. xx

I am on countdown now, weird to think that in 3 weeks time George will be 5 days old! scary! 2 weeks Friday till my section, only have 2 more antenatal appointments left would be so weird if i had to wait to go into labour like alot of you's do, but then again that is the only benefit of having a section - knowing when the baby will be born.

Eeny...I think it was you who asked is it normal not to have any braxton hicks with 1st baby? i didn't have any at all 1st time around, but have been plagued with them this time, they are really weird!

I know how you all feel with the lack of sleep, i have been sleeping pretty good as we have borrowed my SIL's air con unit which is fab, but my dd (who is 2.5YO) keeps waking up! has done since the weather has been so hot, waking up at like 3am, this heat is terrible!and i have bad news for you all....

I read in the newspaper today that August is going to be HOTTER!!!! god help us all!

Arabica · 27/07/2006 07:52

Off to hospital, no time to post properly or to read previous messages. Will get a message to you somehow--might be in here or birth announcements!

dreamydowler · 27/07/2006 08:39

hope all goes well for you Arabica xx

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 08:59

good luck arabica

melsy · 27/07/2006 08:59

Awwwww lots and lots of luck today Arabica , hope its the most wonderful experience.

The heat is just terrible terrible , with no let up its making me go quickly NUTS.

Had practise contractions every half hr -40 mins yesterday , but they didnt last very long. Had a night of it too, period feelings , sicky feeling and strange movements from the baby. Seems to have all settled this morning. Have a busy day today : hypnobirthing lesson ,then into local town centre to get last shopping bits for hospital bag, ordered a pretty lacey feeding bra from M&S which needs collecting,(just couldnt face buying those cotton emma jane granny sacks I had last time!!! sorry if youve bought those ones )and have to sort out my tens also. Im not sure how ill fair getting round in this heat.

So booby do you have another (different)consultants appt ???

melsy · 27/07/2006 09:03

spooky pink , we posted at the exact same time.

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 09:04

morning melsy, looks like your another one whos about ready to pop then?

dd decided she wanted up at 5am this morning, feel like it should be afternoon by now i've been up so long!

melsy · 27/07/2006 09:08

arrghhhhh those 5am starts , dd did that when we moved her to bed from cot. Can you get any rest today ? does she nap ? dd's dropped her nap now .

Yes could be the next one , not sure, this palarva can go on for a few days or a couple of weeks cant it ????, start stop start stop !!!

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 09:13

it did with dd for me and this one seems to be following suit, had a few proper contractions the last few days but they don't seem to want to start up properly.

s'ok though, going shopping later so guaranteed either in the bank or aldi my waters will break! got hideous heartburn too just like the days before dd was born.

she'll demand a nap in a while, only problem is since we got her into a bedtime routine she refuses to nap anywhere but on top of me on the couch, uncomfortable now but gonna be impossible when baby comes!

dreamydowler · 27/07/2006 09:26

aaaw how cute pink lol sounds like neither of you will be very much longer. It seems a bit fresher here this morning thankfuly so off to park for a picnic today then swimming this afternoon Im still waiting for my crib to arrive and havent even thought about packing my bag yet im going to wait till I see the consultant next wednesday and then have a final mad shop for last minute bits for my bag and babys.

melsy · 27/07/2006 09:36

ooh thats what Im thinking , were are the waters going to break , am I going to soak: my bed, the car or a shop !!!!

dreamy I dont know how you get around so much, very admirable , Im finding shopping very hard, especially with bad back and being sweaty with belly /back elastic strap underneath!!

PinkTulips · 27/07/2006 09:46

tbh, i'm hoping they do break, with dd i had the most incredibly slow labour until the mw took pity on me when i was only 3cm after 16 hours and broke my waters... was holding dd within 2 hours!
