Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

I am 20 weeks and haven't bought a thing yet. It sounds weird but I stil cant believe that I am preggers. Even though I have felt movements seen a scan. I think it is because I have felt so ill that I have lost focus somehow.

laughalot · 25/07/2006 12:56

Hi everyone hope your ok lucy cool to see you on again how is sunny spain ? Well my midwife appointment is on thursday fingers crossed for me this time when I had my son my downs syndrome results where high risk so im panicking about thursday as its test time again and I really dont want a amniocintisis (spelling)again. Hope everyone else is ok xxx

lucy5 · 25/07/2006 13:02

Spain is too bloody hot but other than that, it's good. I'm feeling alot better. I missed the downs test because I was so ill, I have been offered an amnio because of my age, 35, but I turned it down. How is your pregnancy going? Good luck with the appointment

wuzzlefraggle · 25/07/2006 14:44

hopingcat - we are slowly starting to get things together...we cant really do much untill the downstairs part of our house is finnished preperly tho (have the last bits of the kitchen arriving thursday and a few more bits to finnish off in the living room). then its attention to the baby room and getting everything in it

laughalot - good luck wth thursday!

lucy - it took ages for it to sink in that i was preg too...surreal in a way isnt it?

HopingCat · 25/07/2006 15:18

We've done things the other way round Wuzzle. Every room in our house needed decorating when we moved in earlier this year, so we did the lounge and nursery first just to make sure we got it done before baby arrived. Now we've just knocked through from kitchen to dining room, so the house is messy and dusty and there's a massive hole in the wall. It's starting to look like we'll still be decorating after the baby arrives, which we didn't want but we're running out of time.

lucy5 · 25/07/2006 15:23

It's so weird, I look pregnant, I feel pregnant but I just can't quite get my head around it. I think it's because It took a while to get pregnant with dd. With this one, I had a feeling I might be, even though we weren't trying and then got preggers on the first attempt and somehow I just didn't feel ready. It's a bit bloming late now!

HopingCat · 25/07/2006 15:27

Lucy - I know what you mean. I often feel like I can't be pregnant, and in my head I definitely am not expecting to have a baby in November! I can't picture myself with a baby. We were only trying for 2 months so we didn't have a lot of time to get used to the idea. I think it's going to be a very sudden awakening when this little one arrives.

lucy5 · 25/07/2006 15:34

Oh thank god, it isn't only me who can't picture myself with the baby. I was starting to feel a bit guilty about it, especially as this is baby number 2. I think thats why i haven't bought anything. I keep thinking when I see the baby on the scan or when it moves etc then it will become real. All those milestones have passed and yet it still feels odd.

HopingCat · 25/07/2006 16:30

This is my first, so I can't translate the kicking inside me at the moment to a baby arriving later in the year.
Most of the stuff I've bought is probably the useless stuff that I don't really need! It's hard to know what to get when you don't know what to do with a baby. It's a good job mn is here and I can ask for advice on everything, as my parentcraft classes aren't until October so are a bit late.

lucy5 · 25/07/2006 20:27

I have nearly a six year age gap, so in a way I feel a bit like a first timer. Dont worry though, you will take to it like a duck to water.

NatalieJane · 26/07/2006 13:29

Hello everyone Wow, you have all been busy chatting away!!

Lucy I know what you mean about feeling like a first timer again, I am the same, never realised how much I had forgotten about!!!

I'm not very well so I haven't been on much, but just wanted to check in and make sure you were all ok

I will catch up more when I am back on my feet, TC xxx

P.S. Trace, glad to see you back xxx

lucy5 · 26/07/2006 14:09

Hi Natalie jane, hope you feel better soon!

I've just got back from the midwife as blood pressure is up again and I might have to go into hospital tommorrow if it hasn't gone down, so fingers crossed everybody.

wuzzlefraggle · 26/07/2006 14:19

lucy - i hope that alls ok re your blood pressure..you have my thoughts and best wishes xox

hope that every1 else is doing well and that the heat is starting to get a little more toned down. im still wishing for it to rain here lol, god im grumpy.

lucy5 · 27/07/2006 12:48

Well just back form the midwife and i've got to go to the hospital, i've managed to talk them out of admitting me. So will wait and see what they are going to do to me there. Just waiting for dh to come home now. It's so strange having a baby in a different country.

HopingCat · 27/07/2006 16:14

Lucy - I hope you are ok. Is this a problem you had with your first baby? I can't imagine what it must be like to be pregnant in another country. It's hard enough trying to understand the health service over here. Get well soon

peachygirl · 27/07/2006 18:48

Hi everyone Lucy5 hope you are OK. No big news from me I'm still waiting for that elusive scan letter!

lucy5 · 28/07/2006 18:43

Well i'm back and i've been prodded and poked, scanned, monitored etc etc. But I am pleased to say that the baby is fine and my blood pressure has come down. I've got to have daily monitoring but for now, i'm home.

HopingCat · 31/07/2006 10:30

Lucy - glad you are feeling ok and are home. Did you manage to have another scan without finding out the sex, or do you know now?

lucy5 · 31/07/2006 10:58

Hi, still don't know sex as baby was wrong way round and we could only see the spine. Got to have another scan on the 10th, so will see if I can get away with not knowing again .

wuzzlefraggle · 01/08/2006 08:33

lucy, glad that your home and feeling ok xox

hi ladies, hope that everyone is doing well
im 28 weeks today, so im officially in my third trimester!! lol got a midwife appointment on monday that im looking forward to aswell

hows every1 and their bumps???

NatalieJane · 01/08/2006 11:12

Morning all

Sorry I haven't been around much, I have been quite poorly, so have spent most of the last week or so in bed! But I am feeling much better today, still can't get a full sentence out with out stopping for a coughing fit, and I have pulled just about muscle in my belly, and DH says I have lost even more weight, but, baby is still moving around loads so I am sure he hasn't been affected.

Lucy I hope things have settled down a bit, I can't imagine how hard it has been for you especially whilst trying to manage your daughter as well! Fingers crossed things have smoothed out a bit for you.

How is everyone doing? Have we had any more scans?

When do people consider themselves to be 6 months pregnant? (or any number of months really!!) What I mean is I am now 23.4 weeks gone, which from the first day of my last AF, I am 5 calender months and 14 days, but on Saturday I will be 24 weeks, which is 6 lots of 4 weeks, does that equal 6 months? And from the other direction I am due on the 25th November, so I have 3 calender months and 24 days till then, which when you take that away from nine months, suggests I am only just gone 5 months PG!! Anyone else confused about this, or have I just had too much time on my hands in the last week?!!!!

....and following on from that, when does the third trimester start? I can't remember from last time!

LOL I will dissapear now before anyone actually catches me writting complete nonsense!! Keep safe, TC xxx

NatalieJane · 01/08/2006 11:13

D'oh, 28 weeks marks the start of the third trimester then Wuzz... I had only just read your post as well!!! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 01/08/2006 11:40

hiya nat! sorry to hear that you havent been feeling well (but glad that you are getting better!)
in answer to the 6 month thing..i think that you are considered 6 months when you hit 26 weeks (at least thats what the girlies on my antenatal thread have said) but, as always, dont quote me lol

peachygirl · 01/08/2006 12:35

Hi everyone sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Nat.
I have finally had my scan date for the 9th August,I'm gettting very impatient.I just want to know that everything is OK.
I'm off to my parents for a few days so that will speed things up a bit.
